When someone calls my home my fax machine turns on after the 2nd ring how do i turn off the fax i tried turning off the printer and uninstalling the printer from the computer how come it still happens ?

simple.. your fax machine is set to auto answer on the 2nd ring.
in the settings of the fax just turn off auto answer or set it to answer more rings..like 6 or 7.

You need to set your fax to answer after more than two rings to give you the chance to answer your phone if you have lossed the instructions type in the name off your fax into google and get the instruction from the site to reset the ring answer time

Since your fax machine is hooked up to your home phone line it will try to answer with it’s default answer settings.
One solution would be to unplug the phone line from your fax machine or from the wall when you’re not using it and plug it in when you need to use the fax. Or power off your fax unless you’re using it.
The only other solution is to go into your fax machine setup and find the setting for ring detection and set it to the values that would work best for your setup (off, more rings before answering, etc.). If you turn the ring detection off you can always manually activate the fax receive from the control panel when you need to. As for what the exact instructions are to this would be dictated by your particular make and model and located in your User’s manual, and you did not provide your make and model for us to help you look it up.

I went on line for goggle work at home positions and, the offer was good but, I had to pay for the initial enrollment fee. I would like to share a W.A.H with my retired parents as well. If anyone know about a W.A.H position with know fees and, frills about get rich quick programs..plz help. We have computer access along with a fax

You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do.
In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online.

My cell phone has some sort of fax capability. Unfortunately I’m not sure how to use it. I don’t have a printer hooked up to my computer and I need to print off an email. Is there a way to send the email to my cell phone then send it to a fax machine? If it helps my cell phone is a Motorola Razr V3m.

An e-mail and a fax are two different animals. If you receive a fax on your phone, you’d need to download that file SOMEHOW to a computer with a printer (usually via USB cable or Bluetooth, or by copying it to a thumb drive), so that it can convert the file to a readable format. Of course, if you want to send an e-mail to a printer, you’ll have to get IT to a computer with a printer, too, but the formatting is different.
As to getting a fax to another computer – I’d suggest e-mailing it directly; you might contact a place like Kinko’s and ask if they have an e-mail to which you could send it to be printed; you could also send it to a friend’s e-mail if your friend has a printer you can borrow. You can also copy it to a thumb drive and take THAT to a place with a printer.

modernise my workplace?
I am running up and down, delivering messages from gods to humans in my winged sandals. It’s becoming tiresome. I told them time and time to install a phone, a fax machine, a computer with high speed Internet and collect some phone books. But no one listens to me!
How can I persuade them to make improvements? It’s ridiculous to be a messenger boy at my age, and with all this modern technology.

Maybe your job does not require you to use any phones. Employers like to restrict employees on the phone to make them work harder. It is best to use someone else’s phone for your job. Probably use your boss’ phone every now and then to increase his awareness of your problem. Make sure you call the right person in right of your boss!

If they won’t realize that they would be saving money to get something in there; why not take the messages, jot them on note papers and have a slot for each one to pick up their own messages when they are coming in or going out. Let them be responsible for their own. If the messages are important enough maybe they will take your advice.

Well first step is getting a fax machine that connects to the computer, something I’ve never seen. Then follow the directions it comes with.
Sorry if I’m wrong but do you mean email? If you have a scanner you can scan something, save it as a jpg and email it to another person.

I’m trying to update my modem drivers b/c I can’t get my fax program to work any more. It’s not communicating with my modem, so I downloaded the driver, but it can’t continue b/c it says my modem is in use and I don’t even have any programs open!

Some FAX software will be “listening” on the com port all the time if it’s been installed. Remove all the fax software if you can and try again. Otherwise maybe boot to safe mode and try the update from there….

Please make sure that, there is no any fax software on your computer. Also, you may try extract your modem and then plug it again.

I would unistall the modem from the device manager and reinstall it, using the new drivers. Dont just update the driver completly uninstall the the device it self. Make sure you disconect the phone line as well, you may need to go to the task manager an look for the Rnaapp, just press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the task manager and look for it and end program.
It is also possible you have a registry error… Download and run Lexun Regscrubxp

If noe of this works, let me know and we can run some diagnostic and see where the problem is we may need to shut dwon and restart a service, or you modem could be physically broken. I am assuming you are talkin a 56k dial up modem correct

Can I set up my computer to also be my phone with caller id and scanner to fax capability/ incomming fax to file also?

Sure, you will need to install a phone modem card tho unless your PC already has one. Caller ID wont be available tho unless you pay for the service thru your phone company.

i had this before,but i had a new harddrive put in my computer and i need to redownload the adobe acrobac(i think i spelled it right)so i can download the manual over.

Go to this link and first select Multi Function Center from Product group. Next find you model number then hit view download. After you hit download you should see a link for your manual right underneath that.
