Financing a car with a third party financer?

fax price

My Question: Financing a car with a third party financer?
I am working with a third party (independent from the dealership) financer for my car. The dealer agreed to my terms (via voicemail) that I had typed up and faxed. The third party financing company did all the paperwork and cut me a check. If the dealer is now backing out on their price, and trying to charge me more, can I walk away and get the finance company to rework the loan for another car/dealer?
Note – I haven’t signed anything at the dealership yet, so I do not have a contract with them.

Of course you can, and should.

Call the bank and tell them that the dealer refused the deal, and that you will be shopping elsewhere. You may have to mail the check back to them, or just destroy it. Once you have your deal in place with the new store, start the process with your bank again.

I assume this is a new car? If so, go to the manufacturer’s website. Fill out their interest form – you may have to “build your car” in order to do this. Once it is submitted, you will be contacted by the internet rep for all the dealers in your area. Let them all know the deal you have in place. Whichever one accepts it – with no funny business – is the winner.

As many know – I am a dealer and have been in the business for many years. This is the kind of thing that makes people not trust us, and keep the sterotype of the plaid-suited white-shoed salesman alive. Sorry for the hassles.

Q&A: If I ask my dog’s regular vet to fax his records to a different vet, will they need permission from my mom?

fax cheap

My Question: If I ask my dog’s regular vet to fax his records to a different vet, will they need permission from my mom?
Well, I’m taking my dog to the vet, and sort of trying to do it behind my mom’s back. My mom is a completely irrational person. Our dog has been licking and biting his feet (sometimes until they bleed) for FOUR years and my mom (and dad too) have never done a thing about it. My mom doesn’t seem to get how serious this is and that he must have allergies. She’s convinced herself that the dog does this because he’s bored (yeah, I’m sure he likes to entertain himself by making his paws bleed…), and also thinks the sound of the dog licking is annoying and irritating. The dog is doing it all the time but she just yells at him, punishes him by putting him in his crate, steps on his feet, or smacks him. And she’s too stupid to figure out that since he’s still doing it 4 years later, obviously her yelling and crating and hitting him hasn’t done a thing.

So anyway, I’ve already scheduled an appointment to the vet on Thursday. I’m taking him for an exam first before doing any allergy testing because I need to find out whether or not that’s what he needs, and I’d also probably need to save a bit more money to afford that. But, the vet that he normally goes too was too expensive for me, so I started checking the prices at other vets, and I found one that was a bit cheaper, and that offered to just start out with an exam before doing allergy testing. I called them today to give them my information, but they need my dog’s medical records. I told them I would call or e-mail his regular vet and ask them to fax his records to them. But I’m wondering, are they going to have to have my mom’s permission or anything? She’s always the one taking him to that vet (yeah, she takes him for checkups and stuff but still won’t even ask about his paws) and I know her name must be the one in their system. I’m legally an adult (just barely) but I guess I’m not like, the dog’s “legal” owner. So will they be able to fax over the info just from me asking? I just really don’t want them to call my mom or tell me I need to ask her or anything. I don’t want to tell my mom my plans right now because I don’t want her to try to stop me from taking him. I got the appointment scheduled for a time that she’ll be gone, tutoring her kids (yeah, she tutors little elementary kids, yet she treats a dog like this, isn’t that scary?)
And also, I did try to talk to my mom a long time ago (back when this all first started) and convince her to just take him to the vet because he probably had allergies. But that’s when she just insisted that the dog does it for no reason/out of boredom. I had gotten really upset at her because she had just slapped him for licking his paws, yet she just rolled her eyes and was offended that I thought she was “mistreating” him. So yeah, I know this is my only option, because I cannot reason with my mom or convince her to take care of the dog herself. I’m the dog’s only hope.
I just turned 18. That’s what I meant by just barely lol. But yeah, I am legally an adult.
I really don’t think he’s bored because he will literally just lay around and lick/bite for hours non-stop. You can try to give him a toy that he likes and even then he just keeps licking and gnawing. But I have also heard that dogs can do it due to anxiety. So I do believe it started out as an allergy, but with the way my mom treats him, she may have just made the problem worse, because she likely made the dog anxious and that could have made him lick even more. Also, the dog’s feet are usually red and inflamed.

ask the vet that you are going to be taking him to to call your old vet and have them fax the information to them directly. saves you having to call your vet and they can get all the records they need. easy.

I went to a checkup – JUST a checkup for my dog, and I needed to be 18. I asked if they could just let it go anyways since they knew my mom. They still had to fax her a forum and she had to sign it and fax it back….

since the dog is hers and in her name, the vet may not fax information without her consent. You can call and ask, but odds are they will want her consent.

the dog could be chewing on his feet out of boredom.. OCD behavours can include self-mutilation. In which case the dog needs more exercize or mental stimulation to correct it- not slapped around. Try redirecting the dog with exercise or some other activity when you catch him licking or chewing.

But allergies are more likely, I agree. Food allergies are more likely the cause. If possible, try switching brands.. (im sure if you just started buying the dog food, mom would feed it?) You can also try a lil benedryll and see if that helps.. 1 mg per pound of body weight- read the labelling to figure out how many mg is in a dose, and adjust the dose (I *think* children’s has 12 mg per dose, and adult is 25?) if its a small dog, its easier to use the children’s liquid to get the proper dose)

These are some suggestions I offer until you can figure out how to get the dog to the vet for an opinion.

another option- go with mom to the dog’s next checkup. While the vet is doing the checkup mention the feet chewing right there.

What do you mean by “just barely” a legal adult? You’re either 18 or not. Many vets will not deal with underage persons as underage persons cannot legally own a dog or sign contracts. You can always call your regular vet and explain the situation – they can tell you outright wether or not they can transfer the records for you.

My dog is registered at the vet under my mom’s name (since she owned our previous dog) but i am allowed to make appointments, bring my dog in, etc etc without her being present. But i am 22.

Chewing on the feet CAN be an obsessive disorder caused by boredom. Can also be allergies or some sort of sensitivity to something in the home (detergent, carpet cleaner, or even outdoor stuff like road salt.)

You could always try to schedule an appointment with the current vet JUST for an examination. Allergy testing wasn’t even recommended with my dog (who also chewed her feet) – the vet just said to change to a food with no corn, no grains, and a fish/potato base. She stopped chewing for the most part, although once and a while we suspect she steps in something that irritates her feet and she licks a little bit (never to the point of blood though.)

Plenty you can try long before trying allergy testing (which CAN be costly) including change of food, increase of activity, etc etc.

You can just take him to the new vet and don’t have to have the records. Tell the new vet the situation and ask if they really need the records and if so they’ll have an idea how to get them.
It’s great that you are willing and able to step up and take care of this sad situation.

But is the dog bored? Sounds like this could be an obsession. Bored or anxious dogs can develop obsessions so it may not be an allergy. Be sure to discuss this scenario with the vet as well.

is it possible to do a wedding via web cam? – Fax Free

fax cheap

Fax Service: is it possible to do a wedding via web cam?
k so this is complicated. my fiance is in the military stationed in south korea and we want to get married asap…we want to know if it is possible to have our skype set up with a priest on each side and fax the paperwork back and forth to sign it and then turn it in. we are trying to find the quickest and cheapest way to do it. bc if i have to fly out to korea to get married it is $ 1100. does anyone know if you can do this? thank you! we live in utah btw

Are you honestly that desperate?

Nope. Sorry, doesn’t happen. It’s a proxy marriage and is not legal in most states. You could find out about Montana proxy marriages. Doesn’t require that you are a resident, but does require that one part of the couple is stationed abroad in active military (doesn’t have to be a war zone). Google proxy marriage in Montana to find someone who can do this for you.

As a resident of Utah, this is your only option besides flying out since Utah does not do proxy marriages. Oh, and just a note that priests will not do proxy marriages. Ever.

your name is “army wife” … so that would imply you are already married ?? why not wait til he comes home ? what is the rush of trying to get married via webcam when he will eventually be home to do it in person ?? again, whats the rush ?? trying to forge insurance claims or something ??

Advice on buying used car?

Question: Advice on buying used car?
I saw a 2000 chevy cavalier with 114k miles on it
runs nice one owner, car dealer will provide car fax
asking price is $ 4,95.00 dealer said since I am not
trading in there is wiggle room …so what is the price
I should settle for? I need reliable transportation and affordable

STAY AWAY FROM THE CAR AND THE DEALER…….

THEY ARE ABOUT 00.00 OVER AT THIS POINT.

ALSO WITH 114,000 MILES THE CAR IS WORTH IN REALITY ONLY ABOUT 00.00

Keep shopping! For THAT $ you could get a real nice Toyota or Honda.

Price also depends on the area you live in. 4,500 isnt bad in a major city but I would shoot for no more than ,500 because of the miles on it

The guy who answered first is out of his mind. A base cavalier with an automatic has a retail value of around 4500. I’d say, depending on the carfax, and the condition, assuming everything is good, 3995, maybe end up around 4300-4400.

It’s not even worth 00.

Domestic cars have almost no resale value whatsoever. For 00, you can buy a 2000 Honda Accord! They will last 5 times longer than a Chevy.

FAQ: Is this a valid reason to ask for a deposit?

fax price

Q&A: Is this a valid reason to ask for a deposit?
I recently decided to purchase a car. My credit union has already faxed a copy of the check to the dealer, and the original check is already on its way to me. I told the dealer that I would be in on Saturday to pick up the car and hand them the check. She told me that the car wouldn’t be ready by Saturday because they had to order an accessory that I wanted on the vehicle. Fine. Then she told me that I had to give them a deposit (by credit card) equal to the total amount of accessories that I ordered for the vehicle (around $ 1200) even if I DO come in on Saturday to give them the check (which is for the FULL price of the vehicle, including accessories and tax). She said this is because the check might not clear. (???) Does this make sense? Isn’t a check issued by a bank considered “certified funds”? Any suggestions?
They will not be paying “out-of-pocket” because the check that I will be handing them will include the price of the accessories. They want me to give them the check PLUS pay for the accessories by CC (so I will be paying for the accessories twice) because they are afraid the check from the CU might not clear. That’s what they said. Does this make sense? Isn’t that a certified check???
Would it be possible for me to “cancel” if I’ve already handed them the check and signed on the bottom line?

I think their request is reasonable. The accessories you want must be paid for by you. What if they order and pay for your accessories out of their pocket and you choke on a ham sandwich and fail to take delivery? If the certified check is for too much you will be refunded the difference. It’d be best to take delivery of the car and go back later for the toys. To ADD ..Your thought of cancellation is exactly the reason they won’t buy the accessories with their money before the deal is DONE.

Well, you tell them that you will give them the deposit equal to the accessories, but they must refund the card on delivery. They have every right to ask for the deposit equal to the value of the accessories just in case you decide to change your mind.

Yes the bank will issue certified funds, but that doesn’t mean you wont’ cancel. They are just protecting themselves, and have every right to do so.

The request is valid. However, be certain that when you pick up your vehicle that they have a credit card credit slip or dealer check for you for the 00.00 you put on your credit card. If not, wait till Monday to pick up your vehicle and have it handled at that time.

This is all legitimate, and you will only be payng the 00.00 once. The dealer’s concern in these situations is adding options to a vehicle and then the customer not taking the vehicle, and then they have a vehicle with options which could be a little more difficult to sell.

Your main concern is either a check or credit back for your 00.00, when you have that you are home free.

Best to you, Chuck

I am buying a used scion TC from a private seller. what should i be looking at to make sure the car is good? – Fax Free

fax price

My Question: I am buying a used scion TC from a private seller. what should i be looking at to make sure the car is good?
I have already looked up the carfax, and the car has a clean car fax. I have already test driven the car to make sure i like what i am driving and getting into. I also popped the hood and looked in the hood for oil leaks or new parts (as thats the sign as an accident). It looks like the car was never in an accident.

Should i be looking at the maintainence records? and what should i be looking in the maintainence records? Should i call any scion dealer to ask anything about this car (as i have the VIN# of the car)?.

The car is 2005 with 35k miles. It has minor scratches on the body (Nothing too big). I am getting the car for $ 11,800. Is this a good price? And the car is the base model with automatic tranny with LOJACK (its helpful to trace the car if it ever gets stolen) and remote starter.

Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

with 35k miles there is nothing major to worry about so you can buy it with no problem

give a full tune up when you get the car and you are done

printer advice? cheap cheap?

fax cheap

Q&A: printer advice? cheap cheap?
need to buy printer/fax/scanner. Saw epson on sale model 7450. Does anyone own one and what do u think

Epson are pretty good…but I would choose Cannon or HP….its on sale at best buy…All you do dont get Brother..its the worse.

If you need a fax machine, the 7450 doesnt have fax. The cx9400fax does. But personally, I use efax.com and its free for limited use. I only get a fax or two a month. If you need more, you can pay a small fee. Compare with faxwave.com fax.com etc and get the best deal. Since the faxes come into your email, you dont need a dedicated line so it’s probably cheaper and more convenient than a fax machine.
As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn’t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson CX5000 and have had no down time since.
All name brand ink is expensive, but you can get cheap new replacement cartridges for Epson (not refills which I never recommend) for under at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp I have been using these for years.
The CX8400 scanner/copier/printer was on sale at circuitcity.com for with free shipping. It uses 3 colors plus black.
The NX400 which uses the same cartridges is on sale at Staples for .
The RX595 scanner/copier/printer also prints on DVDs. It uses 5 colors plus black and has even higher photo quality. It’s on sale for after instant rebate.

If you need fax, the cx9400fax was on sale at epson.com for .

Which is the best inkjet printer for me?

Q&A: Which is the best inkjet printer for me?
I am looking for a printer which has the cheapest ink. It should be all in one and preferably with a faxing and wireless capability.

When i go shopping i always see that the epson inks are cheaper than canon. Then why do people say that canon have the cheapest ink.

Thanks in Advance.

Each manufacture puts a different amount of ink in the cartridges.

Epson puts very little in theirs even compared to the others that put very little in them.

It is therefore not the price of the cartridge you look at but how much it works out per ml of ink in them!

My Canon inks have 11ml in them and cost 10.
Certain similar Epson cartridges have 7ml and cost 9.

Are the Epson really the cheapest?

I can buy Canon compatibles for my printer that cost 1.39 each. That’s 7 for the set of five and they are never rejected by my printer.

Epson rejects it’s own inks and compatibles so they are very unreliable printers.

No printers’ original ink is cheap.

Go with a brother.
Cost per drop – canons are cheaper than epsons, this is becuase there is more ink in the Canon cartridge (on average)
Brother printers are even cheaper to run.

FAQ: Should i purchase a 2003 ford focus w/ high mileage? – Fax Free

fax price

Question: Should i purchase a 2003 ford focus w/ high mileage?
I looked at a 03′ focus se w/ 109,00 miles. The price is 5,000
I loved everything in it. I’m behind times since I own a 96′ ford contour. Should I keep looking? The car fax turned out to be a one owner. It drove very nice but my gut feeling is to keep looking.

Keep looking

It is priced very good. Whoever is selling it knows that the mileage is high for that year. Now, most newer cars built will generally run about 200,000 miles before needing a major overhaul. NOT ALL CARS, but many of them. If it has been well maintained, and doesn’t seem like it has been hot roded, then I’d say for the price to go for it. It is your money though, and you have to be sure you will want it, and that you think it is worth it.

109,000 miles is far from being “high mileage”. None of my vehicles have lasted less than 300,000 miles. A vehicle will run as long as you take care of it. Just a few weeks ago Yahoo posted a news article about a man with a pick-up that just surpassed the 1,000,000 mile mark. I still can’t believe most folks consider 100,000/150,000 to be high mileage!

I buy “high milage” cars and I will typically get over 100,000 more out of it. I look for cars that look really good inside and out – pride of ownership. They can usually produce maintenance records.

If this car has that then you have a good car. Offer him ,000 if you have the cash. If he takes it, youi’ve got a good deal. If not, keep looking.

I’d go for it. My mom has that year model and babies it and my friend jack has the same only he treats it like crap yet both are about the same. They are good little cars. There is a problem with the trunk latch so be aware of that. Other than that they have had no major problems
