A few hours ago a quiet girl in my sceince class asked me out via FAX MACHINE!!! (She had my fax # from a project) What should i do, i have no idea!!?? p.s. im not exactly sure how to use a fax machine!?!?!

That’s cute, in a retro kind of way.
You don’t have to fax her back. Just go up and talk to her, and be nice to her. She likes you; if you like her too, then there should be no issues!

when you buy a fax machine, is there a fax number already with it or do you have to and get a number from a store or something?

You have to add a separate phone line to your house. This is where the number comes in. Then you plug that phone line into the back of your computer.
If you prefer simplicity, you can get an online fax number and for about 1/3 the cost of the phone line, you have a 24 hour 7 day per week fax number up and running.

I want to get a fax machine but not really sure how they work.. I tried to do some research but couldn’t find out anything.. i don’t want to use my computer as one so if i just buy one, & just connect it to my phone line, will it work with the same phone number i have now? I have AT&T in central California. Does anyone know if AT&T will charge you? and how much? And any other things i should know about a fax machine..?

A fax machine works the same as any other telephony device connected to your phone line – the phone company does not care what kind of phone you use – cordless, computer modem, rotary, or fax. If the fax machine is configured to answer, then any calls coming in to your line (number) will be immediately picked up by the fax machine. To deal with this you will either need to know when to expect a fax so you can enable it, or get a second, regular telephone line for your fax machine.

i was wondering if there was any way to use my fax machin as a printer i love the fax machine adn how it prints but all it has is the phone jacks nothing ells
i only have one phone line and i forgot to say without faxing them thrugh the phonline

If you have two telephone lines and a Fax Modem built into your computer… you can FAX yourself every time that you want to PRINT.
That would be silly, now wouldn’t it?

The answer is no, because as you found out, the only way is the fax through the phone line.
Besides, fax resolution is only 200 dpi, less than even the “standard” 300 dpi of almost any printer on market nowadays.

A fax machine requires a phone line. You don’t need to use that phone line for your voice communications. Many fax machines have a dedicated phone line and of course the associated phone number. If you don’t want a landline at all, it is possible to have a cell fax machine, or even use your cell phone. At least that’s what is claimed. See the search below.

To make your fax machine receive and send faxes you need some communication media may it be physical in the form of landline or wireless in the form of CDMA or GSM. If you don,t need landline use your cellphone ( using CDMA or GSM technologies) as per your service provider. If you don’t need any one you can make use of your neighbour’s landline.

My fax machine seems to work just fine for everyone except our secretary. She cannot send me just ONE page! Two pages goes through fine, but one page does not, even after waiting 10 minutes. I bought a new fax machine and have the same problem. If she hits “cancel” the single page seems to come through, but then she doesn’t know if I got it. (Also changed the phone cord at the same time.) Anyone ever experience this?

Check the setup menu in the machine. There may be something that needs to be unselected or selected. Say, you have a cover sheet setting selected. This would mean that a cover sheet and at least one other sheet should be sent and if there’s not more than 1 sheet it might assume there’s nothing to send. It’s worth a check.

Does she uses a “memory” setup or manual to send you the fax. if memory, maybe something is wrong.
How do other people send faxes?
Can someone else send you a single page fax from the same machine?
It is quite possible the problem is with the transmitting fax.

If you ask about model, very simple fax maschine is MURATA M900. If you ask about simple functions of fax maschine, anyone use lamp for printing in a mode of piezo-effect (older models). This is very similar as the photo copiers but they got and cylinder and need toner (something like ink but in photo-copiers it is powder). (1.18)=(1+x)^12
x=.013888
2944=(1+0.013888)/0.013888*
(1-(1.013888^-18))
2944=payment*16.05
payment=195.61
they will pay a total of 18*195.61=3521.06
the price is 2944 then the amount of interest paid is 3521.06-2944=577.06

First off, here’s a summary of all the formulas for interest:
Compound –
Interest = P(r/n)^(n*t)
New Amount = P(1 + r/n)^(n*t)
Simple –
Interest = Prt
New amount = P(1 + r)(t)

be sure no other phones are on the same line Go to http://www.hp.com and download their trouble shooter and run it it will test it and give any any problems detected you can also go there and go to chat and allow them to check it out themselves and you can talk to them directly.

It all depends on how many faxes you are going to receive. If your just using it to send faxes then you can just use your existing phone line. If you plan on receiving a lot of faxes then you probably should get a dedicated line for it otherwise the fax machine will pickup every incoming call if the receive option is enabled.

You can use the existing phone line if ur using one fax machine…. if you have more than one stil u can use the same phone line but I suggest you to use splitter …and connect it to both..

I also just bought the new brother , fax, copy and scanner all in one and am using it on my HOME phone # the fax ring sounds different than the regular phone when it rings
