Please don’t respond with anwsers saying “faxing is so old” “Why fax when you can email”

I am faxing a cover letter to future employer and fax number is the only thing available to me so thats why i need to find internet faxing service.

You can subscribe for a free trial of 3 days that will allow you to send 4 faxes, and receive unlimited number of faxes, and it doesn’t require any credit card at http://www.popfax.com.

Another option, is to send faxes for free on http://www.freepopfax.com, but it will insert you some advertising on your fax.

How can you send a fax from a fax machine to an email address?

fax

My Question: How can you send a fax from a fax machine to an email address?
My office has a traditional fax machine hooked up to the phone line. I want to know if it’s possible to send a fax from that machine and receive it via email. I’d prefer it if this could be done without buying a new fax machine. Ideally I’d like some service that would give me a phone number then forward all faxes sent to that number to an email address .

I do exactly what you’re asking about all the time, but maybe one better. I use a service from FaxLogic called “Personal 100 Pro”. Their “standard” service will do exaclty what you’re describing (a dedicated fax number that delivers faxes to one or more email addresses). But their pro service actually eliminates your analog phone line and replaces it with a little “adapter” device that connects it to your Internet service, turning your existing fax machine into a scanner. It still works like it always has (insert a document, dial the fax number, hit send), but it’s now also a smart digital device. One of the things you can then do is scan from your machine directly to your email. Both services are low cost: starting at /month for standard and /month for pro. And since pro eliminates your dedicated fax line, you actually save money with that option. Check it out…

how can i fix download speed from my isp that is slower then what i pay for?

fax service

By Butters: how can i fix download speed from my isp that is slower then what i pay for?
I recently checked my download and upload speeds and work (small 2 person business) and we pay for 1.5 mb/s DSL and we were receiving 0.7mb/s . I called and complained, somehow in fixing it we lost service to all phone lines (fax, CC machine, internet, and 2 land lines) for 2 days… anyways. we now have 1.3MB/s is this normal or should i try to get that last .2 mb/s from my isp? Ive checked the speed with my ISPs site and with Speedtest.net on multiple servers.

Answer:

Answer by Brian S
Aside from calling them, there is not a lot else that you as a user can do.

There are a number of things that impact the speed you will see on your end. To name a few, these are:
1) The condition of the phone lines in the building
2) The distance you are from the connection
3) Bottlenecks on the internet

Most DSL providers do not promise you a set speed. What they do tell you is speed that is “up to 1.5 mb/s” which gives them room to wiggle if you are consistently at 1.3.

Answer by TempoOne
If you look at the fine print from your ISP, it says DSL speeds “up to” 1.5 Mbps or something like that.

If you are actually getting 1.3 Mbps, consider yourself lucky.

You wouldn’t really notice the difference anyway…both 1.3 and 1.5 are too slow for streaming video (like YouTube), hard-core gaming or for the pirating of movies/music/software, but in a business environment you probably won’t be doing too much of that sort of stuff anyway.

Answer by Jesus M
complain that you are not getting the speed they advertise. they usually would say if you would want someone to check it out. it should be free.

i received a letter from worthmore realty with a job offer?

fax service

Question by cookie: i received a letter from worthmore realty with a job offer?
to be a mystery shopper in my town, it seems too good to be true, they even sent me a check for $ 3994 and i have call a (514) area code to activate the check, before i cash it, i then i would go to walmart buy anything for $ 100(i get to keep the item), fill out a survey rating the employees and service, then i have to go to a western union and send $ 1000 to a mystery shopper for western union in georgia(the name is given on the form) and then do it again to another mystery shopper(for $ 2000) who works for western union in new york and then i fill out the survey rating the service, then i have to fax the evaluation form to worthmore realty. this first assignment is a probationary, if i do good, when i do the probationary job i will end up with the $ 100 purchase and $ 450 payment even if they dont decide to hire me. has anyone heard of this,is it legit??? (oh i did fill out a survey a few months ago saying i was interested in being a mystery shopper) only serious peple please respond thanks

You are right to be cautious, you said seems too good to be true and I think there are some basic question you can ask.

Was this offer solicited by you or did it just show up in the mail.

Look carefully at the check. Is the any fine print. 94 may be cheap for them if you end up owing them 10 times that.

Do an Internet search on the phone number. I have found several “offers” that are known scams by doing this.

Does the work required seen to be reasonable. In other words are they offering 0 for two minutes of work. Yes, there are industries where this is reasonable but call the Better business bureau and ask if this is you of them. If they don’t have the answer they should know who does.

Good Luck!

Answer by Sean
Forget the whole story… forget the “mystery shopper” forget the US phone number.

Someone (who you have never met in person) has sent you a check.
They told you to cash the check in your bank account withdraw the money and send it to them.

Firstly, remember YOU are responsible for your bank account [if you decide to put fake checks in your account, YOU must pay the price]

There are 3 main characters in this scam:
YOU and your bank account
THE COMPANY using an invented name or abusing the name of a real company
THE CUSTOMER/CLIENT.

The company contacts you and asks you to work for them. They tell you “this is 200% legal”, “we do not want your bank info”, “this wont hurt a bit, here…have some candy” etc
Your “job” is to receive payments from customers/clients in your country and “process” them
This means the,the money clears in your account and you send the cash to the company minus your 10/15% commission.

What actually happens:
The “customers/clients” sends you a fake check or transfers money into your account online from a hacked bank account.
You put the check in your bank and wait 7 to 10 days for it to “CLEAR” [This a very misguiding word]
You use a check cashing service [showing your ID in case the police ever want to visit]
Some times the checks are very, very authentic looking. It can take the bank several months to realise its fake.
You withdraw the 90% of the cash and send it to the “company” by some anonymous money transfer service like Moneygram or Western Union.
Another “customer” [same scammer, different email address] sends another check and you repeat the process until….

Your bank freezes all your accounts and debits your accounts.Dont worry if your accounts are empty they will now have a minus balance and you must pay the bank back.

You bank will be a bit confused as to why you are abusing the service they offer and probably call the police.
A lot of people have gone to jail trying to explain a story they dont know to police who do not understand!

My question for you is….what have fake personal checks, fake company checks, fake bank drafts, fake money orders, fake travellers checks and fake dollar bills have in common ;)

Have a look at this for info on Western Union http://scam-emails.info/tactics/how-safe-is-western-union/

Hello

The easiest and fastest way to get cash online is by completing online paid surveys .You can make more than per one simple survey. But the problem is that most of these online paid surveys websites are scams. So you need to join LEGITIMATE survey web-site .I’ve spend more than year to find online paid surveys , that are not scams, and I found only one. With this site you can start making money today…

If you want to star right now … Go to http://ThePaidOnlineSurveys.info .

Hope that will help

Answer by Steve
Holy smokes!!! Not sure what part of that doesn’t sound like a scam. All of it!!

Please do both of us a favor. Take the letter, tear it up, and put it in the garbage bin.

Whenever anybody asked you to put a sticker here, send a letter there, pay money to some bank, etc etc, it’s a scam. At the end of the line either one of two things will happen.
1) the check won’t be valid.
2) You will end up spending way more many than the 94 they sent you and end up in debt. They’ll just keep holding the carrot in front of your nose making it virtually impossible to get the check validated.

Good Answer:

Answer by male4girlz
It’s 0049, Munich citycode is the 089. If you dial both together it’s just 004989…

Answer by scubalady01
From the US, you dial:

0049-89-78594-413

Same when you fax something. You drop the zero in front of the city code (i.e. 089 becomes 89).

Answer by mfoley6
No! The country code for Germany is 49 (forget the zeros).
You dial 011 49 89 78594413

Forget the other zero. It is for “in-country” calling.

Good luck!

Answer by gracie
mfoley6 is correct…..just talked to my son, who lives in Germany, today!

Answer by fliege52000
Country code for Germany is 049. City code for Munich is 089.
So you want to make a phone call,
Dial: 49-89-78594 413 or fax: 49-89-78594 479.
I hope this help….

Answer by Philip W
Looks genuine except for the telephone numbers. The direct telephone and fax number are both mobile (cell) phone numbers. This is highly unusual for a fax line. Also the Branch telephone number is not a London phone number.
I would be very wary. If you need to contact then write a letter or email them here

FAQ: Ever feel like e-mailing or faxing your senators about stopping illegal immigration?

fax service

Question by kscottmccormick: Ever feel like e-mailing or faxing your senators about stopping illegal immigration?
Well, now would be a good time to do so, as the Congress and White House are on the verge of giving away the store with the immigration “compromise” bill now before the Senate.

Go to http://www.senate.gov/ . Click on “find your senators” at the upper right and enter your state and click “go.” Your senator’s names will come up, and underneath each name will be a web address for a form to write an e-mail to your senator. Click on the link, write in your name and address, and let your elected representative know what you think of the immigration bill now before Congress. Better yet, copy the mailing address and send a paper letter through the postal service, too. A paper letter makes a bigger impression, but by the time it arrives, it may be too late.

To send a fax, register with this organization:

I have been doing so for 2 weeks! Libby Dole has responded to the will of the people. (Of course, she IS up for re-election.) If she hears the people, the U.S. citizens, so do the rest of them.

Our senators had a chance to stop this bill in its tracks. The ones who are up for re-election in November, 08 but still chose to give the bill a shot in the senate are as follows; note the presidential candidates who decided not to cast a vote at all on cloture; (none of them will get my vote!) Alexander (R-TN)
Chambliss (R-GA)
Cochran (R-MS)
Coleman (R-MN)
Collins (R-ME)
Craig (R-ID)
Domenici (R-NM)
Durbin (D-IL)
Graham (R-SC)
Hagel (R-NE)
Harkin (D-IA)
Landrieu (D-LA)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Levin (D-MI)
McConnell (R-KY)
Pryor (D-AR)
Reed (D-RI)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Smith (R-OR)
Stevens (R-AK)
Warner (R-VA)

And the COWARDS who did not bother to go vote:
Biden (D-DE)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Johnson (D-SD)
Kerry (D-MA)
McCain (R-AZ)
Nelson (D-FL)
Obama (D-IL)

Snnoggle – Re-election is the only thing they understand. Start working on your House reps NOW!

Good ADVICE!!!

Answer by Chuck_junior
I have been for 2 weeks.

Answer by snnoogles
I doubt I should bother. Both CA senators are ultra left wing liberal socialists who could give a damm what people want.

Answer by Sashie
Indeed good advice to anybody … I have been calling, faxing, emailing and written to my senators for quite some time now, well over a year anyway … it’s not really true that it doesn’t make an impact, all senators, and especially those who are up for re election in 2008, run quite scared when they see faxes rolling in and their email inboxes are overflowing … so keep writing and calling … pester them until they see sense … although, mind you, that will probably take some time, if they EVER will see sense …

I AM CONSIDERING PURCHASING A 2004 ACURA TL WITH 95K ON IT FOR 7800.?

fax service

Question by ANTHONY: I AM CONSIDERING PURCHASING A 2004 ACURA TL WITH 95K ON IT FOR 7800.?
THE CAR IS IN REAL GOOD SHAPE AND THE CAR FAX WAS GOOD NO ISSUES BUT I AM WORRIED SINCE THE TIMING BELT SERVICE WAS NOT DONE YET. I DON’T WANT TO GET A CAR WITH 95K EVEN THOUGH THE PRICE IS GOOD AND HAVE PROBLEMS. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Good Answer:

Answer by Lisa H
how do you know it needs a timing belt change? I have a 2004 TL with 85,000 miles and at my last service at 75K miles, i was told it was nowhere even near being worn out.

the newer cars like the 2004 TL are not like say my old 1990 integra that needed that done at 105,000 miles.

if you are in doubt, have the car checked out by a mechanic.

that price is quite cheap for a TL…so I would be more interested in knowing what is wrong with it. it is a tad high mileage wise, but i normally see that year for ,0000 not under ,000. if properly maintained this car could go 200,000+ miles.

Answer by Andy
You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Answer by snookynibbles
You’re wise to have checked the history of the car. Given a clean ‘rap sheet’, indeed, getting a reputable mechanic involved would be a good next step. 95K miles is creeping up there for a timing belt, but not necessarily imminent doom. If you decide the car is otherwise A-OK, and if a mechanic verifies the timing belt needs replacing, the buy the car and pay to have the belt (and a water pump) installed. This work can be shopped around and performed for under 0 (combined). The reason for changing the water pump with the belt change is that the pump is readily accessable during the timing belt service, will eventually need to be replaced, and thus is cheapter to perform in tandem with a timing belt change.

Also, the big issue related to the timing belt is how the Honda J32A3 engine in that car is an ‘interference’ engine where a belt break allows for collision between a valve and a piston head. The logic however is that a car with 95K miles and with an original timing belt couldn’t have (yet) suffered the kind of damage associated with belt breakage.

Answer by nj2pa2nc
Timing belt service is recommended at 105,000 miles. Do not rely on carfax-have a trusted mechanic check the car out. I own a 06 tsx, bought new 11/06. Even tho I have all the service done by a acura dealer none of it shows up on the carfax report. The dealer told me they do not share the service information. If you were to look at the carfax on my car you would think I never had it serviced. I do have the maintenance book filled out and stamped. I also have kept all the receipts. Oh my car now has almost 120,000 problem free miles.

What do you think? Answer below please!
