i’m shocked at the reviews. i’ve never had a single problem with mine. no condensation, no heating issue, the dual temperature sections work great. it’s not noisy at all; i barely notice it. i’m quite frankly confused and wonder if Danby put out a crummy lot at one time but fixed the issue? anyway, i’m not one to post reviews, but figured i would at least give the other side from a completely satisfied customer.

We’ve had very good luck with our unit. We purchased it about 4 years ago and have NEVER had any problems. We don’t find it noisy at all. Yes the bottom shelves are a little short so you aren’t able to fill them. Realistically it will hold about 24-26 bottles. We love the dual-zones and the price was was affordable. I had to write this review because of all the negative ones I read. We just purchaced another for our vacation home but have not installed it yet. We’ll see what happens with that one.

Don’t even consider buying a Danby wine cooler product. Mine stopped cooling properly and when I tried to have it repaired under the remaining 5 year warranty, they offered me $60.00 for the balance of the warranty period. Since a new unit would cost $350.00, plus tax, this was an insult.
I wish I had read the reviews of others before buying this piece of junk.
A wine cooler is really nothing more than a refrigerator and one would expect it to last more than a few
years. All of the refrigerators I have bought and owned in the last 30 years were replaced only because I wanted a newer refrigerator, not because the cooling system failed.

I bought this product around Christmas 2007 – the unit just broke – not even 6 months old!! I have very decent wines and champagnes ruined as this unit stopped working. If you read the Danby warranty, ruined wines are not covered. Paying over $ 300.00 for unit that worked no more than 6 months is an absolute disgrace. Danby probably spent no more than
$ 30.00 to make this junk in China – once again another piece of junk from China. Wine needs long term storage – otherwise, why buy a wine refrigerator? – I guess Danby feels putting out a junk product lasting 6 months is quality. If you want to ruin some good wines and champagnes, please buy this product. I contacted Danby representatives and was treated very rudely – they could care less. Save your money!! Forced to give one star by AMazon but this is truly a 0 star.

I have come to love Danby’s products. This Canadian company makes first-rate, high-quality fridges and cooling systems. I had a Danby mini-fridge in my office so I decided to give the company a try for my dive into wine-cellaring (I travel to Argentina frequently and bring back great and cheaper Malbecs–$3 there for what costs $20 here in the US).
This wine cooler is simply the best you can buy for the money. The dual temperature zones are variable enough so, if you’re like me and like reds more than whites, you can equalize the two zones at 50 to double your pleasure.
The only minor thing in the negative category I can note is that one side of the cooler tends to get very warm. But, it actually makes for a nice secondary heat source in a small, enclosed area (I have it in my basement office in my home, which it maintains comfortable during the winter.
Highly recommended.
