Fax Service: Can I make a payment using credit card through fax ? How ?
Please explain.

Thanks

What are you trying to make a payment for? Some companies have a payment authorization form that you would have to sign and fax back, others you can just make a copy of the front and back of the card and sign the piece of paper. Be careful and make sure it’s a reliable company, you could be sending it anywhere.

You’d have to ask the party you want to pay.

Another option, very safe, is to ask the recipient if their site accepts PayPal or Google Checkout payments. Because you as the payer are using an account (PayPal or Google Checkout) that hides your credit card from the payee, this is the safest method of payment. The payee/vendor then pays 2.9% of the amount you paid plus .30 USD (for up to ,000 amount paid; percentage decreases for higher amounts paid; see the link below for a complete schedule). Read on for more details.

These services also support payments of any amounts, not just for specific products being sold. Most companies use PayPal or Google Checkout to sell specific items, each with their own price. You may want to be able to make a payment for services, for example, that could be any amount. I just set this up in one day on the web site I created for a friend of mine’s company, where his company provides services with no set prices. As a vendor, he created a PayPal account (and later a Google Checkout account) for no charge. Payers (yourself) can either create a PayPal account (no charge), or without creating a PayPal account specify the credit card number on the PayPal screen at checkout. If you’d like to see examples, you’ll find screen captures at http://www.contactcenterbrokersii.com/payments

Q&A: Is this a valid reason to ask for a deposit?
I recently decided to purchase a car. My credit union has already faxed a copy of the check to the dealer, and the original check is already on its way to me. I told the dealer that I would be in on Saturday to pick up the car and hand them the check. She told me that the car wouldn’t be ready by Saturday because they had to order an accessory that I wanted on the vehicle. Fine. Then she told me that I had to give them a deposit (by credit card) equal to the total amount of accessories that I ordered for the vehicle (around $ 1200) even if I DO come in on Saturday to give them the check (which is for the FULL price of the vehicle, including accessories and tax). She said this is because the check might not clear. (???) Does this make sense? Isn’t a check issued by a bank considered “certified funds”? Any suggestions?
They will not be paying “out-of-pocket” because the check that I will be handing them will include the price of the accessories. They want me to give them the check PLUS pay for the accessories by CC (so I will be paying for the accessories twice) because they are afraid the check from the CU might not clear. That’s what they said. Does this make sense? Isn’t that a certified check???
Would it be possible for me to “cancel” if I’ve already handed them the check and signed on the bottom line?

I think their request is reasonable. The accessories you want must be paid for by you. What if they order and pay for your accessories out of their pocket and you choke on a ham sandwich and fail to take delivery? If the certified check is for too much you will be refunded the difference. It’d be best to take delivery of the car and go back later for the toys. To ADD ..Your thought of cancellation is exactly the reason they won’t buy the accessories with their money before the deal is DONE.

Well, you tell them that you will give them the deposit equal to the accessories, but they must refund the card on delivery. They have every right to ask for the deposit equal to the value of the accessories just in case you decide to change your mind.

Yes the bank will issue certified funds, but that doesn’t mean you wont’ cancel. They are just protecting themselves, and have every right to do so.

The request is valid. However, be certain that when you pick up your vehicle that they have a credit card credit slip or dealer check for you for the 00.00 you put on your credit card. If not, wait till Monday to pick up your vehicle and have it handled at that time.

This is all legitimate, and you will only be payng the 00.00 once. The dealer’s concern in these situations is adding options to a vehicle and then the customer not taking the vehicle, and then they have a vehicle with options which could be a little more difficult to sell.

Your main concern is either a check or credit back for your 00.00, when you have that you are home free.

Best to you, Chuck

Question: Can I Sue Experian?
I have applied for a credit card with bank of america several times and i have been denied i checked my credit history and im seeing wrong information which led to the denial of my credit card applications. Can i sue for damages? and experian does not even have a fax or telephone number where i can call to dispute the information on my credit report. They listed my birthday as 1985 instead of 1988 which caused collection agency debts that i owed when i was 17 to be posted on my account because they listed my birthday 1985 it showed that i was 20 when the debts came in but i was actually 17.

1. Do you have a fax or phone number where i can reach experian? (I get an error messege with the online dispute form)
2. Can i sue for damages since they caused me to be denied for a credit card over 2 times

You should get your annual free credit report BEFORE you make applications . . . and you can have the corrections done once you have that copy for reference.
and you can sue anyone you want in America, the big question is ‘ Is the cost of the legal action worth the return ?
the experian report site
http://www.freecreditreport.com/

You can sue anyone for any reason, I don’t know if you will win though

Speaking as the nation’s top credit expert (visit www.LearnAboutCredit.com)

Yes, you can sue Experian. I suggest small claims court. You will have to PROVE that they knowingly falsely reported negative information, and you will to prove that you have been damaged. Any lawyer would tell you that.

Yes, you can sue them but you have to prove they did it purposly.
Experian
NCAC
PO Box 2002
Allen, TX 75013
1-800-509-8495
You need to dispute by mail. send them a letter telling them you feel you were denied credit due to an error on their part. Explain the problem (your birthdate), and list accounts that are on your report that shouldn’t be. Send a copy of drivers license, or state ID, and I’d also send a copy of my birth certificate. Make sure you tell them you’d like them to investigate, correct their errors, and send the new info to creditors that have obtained your credit report in the last 6 months. Send it certified, no signature required. Since, it’s going to a PO Box no one can sign for it, but you’ll know exactly what day they got it. Keep this certification from the post office, when you get their responce back if they haven’t changed anything then you can sue.
You’ve explained the problem, you’ve given proof, if they dont change it they’re wrong. Small claims will do just fine.

Yes, you can sue. But first you have to understand the law, and know how the game is played.

It’s going to be hard to sue Experian. Their job is only to report what is given the them by creditors. They DO NOT investigate their accuracy.

The only way Experian will be liable is if you dispute the entry, and they fail to “verify” the debt. But since all that is required of them is to call the creditor and ask if it’s legitimate and accurate, and if the creditor says it is, then the item stays. Again, no real investigation is done, but now Experian is off the hook.

What you need to do is send a certified letter/return receipt to the creditor and demand that he “validate” the date. That means he must PROVE that you owe this debt, and supply you with written contracts, bills, receipts, and everything that was used to calculate what they claim you owe.

If they do not supply you with this information, then you send another dispute letter to the credit bureau telling them that the creditor failed to “validate” the debt. Since it is illegal for the credit bureau to list “unvalidated” information to your credit report, THAT would be a violation and then you could sue Experian. But since they are getting much better at verifying debts, this isn’t likely to happen.

If, after you have sent these letters and the debt is not removed, you can sue both the creditor and the credit bureau. This is a small claims court suit and you do not need a lawyer to do it.

As for the part about posting debts while you a minor, it’s legal for them to do. If the debt was yours (even as a minor) they can list it. So don’t waste your time disputing those entries.

Now in the situation where a listing is posted to your report without validation, you can sue them for 00 for each occurance. You can also sue for damages that the listing caused, but the burdon of proof is on you to show how you were damages.

Simply being denied a credit card does not result in damages, unless you were forced to get another card with much greater interest rates.

The damage claims work better in cases where you were force to get a mortgage and the interest rate was much higher….or maybe you were denied employment due to a poor credit report. That’s much easier to prove for damages and you have a better chance to win.

See the links below for more help, or contact me. I’ve been there, as I’ve sued a creditor and the Equifax for a bad credit item and won 00 for my troubles.

Fax Service: What are the chanches of taking back a resignation letter?
My husband gave his 2 week notice today to leave his work. He handed in the resignation letter which was faxed to HR. Now (for reasons too long to discuss) he wants to un-do what he did tomorrow. He will write another letter. What are our chances of my husband keeping the job?

he will not get respect at job if he manages to undo it…
also, his bosses will not give him much opportunities since knowing he wanted to leave at some point…

i think it’s better not undo it right away, and go discuss with his bosses saying that he sent a resignation letter and want to quit, how’s his bosses think about that

if the boss doesn’t show any sign of want to keep him, then just proceed with resignation… but normally people will be gentle and show some (real or fake) regret about this resignation, then your husband can say that maybe it’s better that he stays seeing that.

Recently I purchased one of thoes 4 in 1 fax machines, I also have a hp pavilion lap top. My computer was already a bit slow, but ever since I hooked up the 4 in 1 HP printer it takes 10 minutes for it start, any recomendation? I really don’t wanna return it back to the store, Do I need to clean up my computer or is there any other solution to this?

I bet you had to install software to use your printer…right? If so, that software is sucking up your computer resourses. Also, if i were you, i would just do a reformat and reinstall to make your computer fast again.

My faxes used to preview as normal, but now I receive the error msg: “fax document cannot be displayed because your operating system does not have a default viewer for fax doc’s.” Don’t know how/why it changed, nor how to reset it. I’ve set the default view of My Pictures to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, but it didn’t help with displaying faxes. Thanks so much for any advice!

I assume that you have Windows XP

Try System restore. Go to Start > Help and Support and then click on the System Restore click. Choose a date on the calendar when you knw (or hope!) the fax preview was OK. System Restore will then put your settings back to those applicable at the chosen earlier date. The computer automatically restarts for the revised settings to take effect.

What do you think? Answer below please!

My Question: I am buying a used scion TC from a private seller. what should i be looking at to make sure the car is good?
I have already looked up the carfax, and the car has a clean car fax. I have already test driven the car to make sure i like what i am driving and getting into. I also popped the hood and looked in the hood for oil leaks or new parts (as thats the sign as an accident). It looks like the car was never in an accident.

Should i be looking at the maintainence records? and what should i be looking in the maintainence records? Should i call any scion dealer to ask anything about this car (as i have the VIN# of the car)?.

The car is 2005 with 35k miles. It has minor scratches on the body (Nothing too big). I am getting the car for $ 11,800. Is this a good price? And the car is the base model with automatic tranny with LOJACK (its helpful to trace the car if it ever gets stolen) and remote starter.

Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

with 35k miles there is nothing major to worry about so you can buy it with no problem

give a full tune up when you get the car and you are done

This site is an awesome resource/guide for Buying &Selling:
