fax email

By William: How long does it take to get access financial aid money after you send in the award letter?
I go to post online and and had to sign and fax the award letter which was back on May 2nd, I received an email from the financial aid company saying there was access funds, I got that email On the 15th. Will I be getting a check from the school? If so when would I likely get it? I’m moving In two weeks and don’t want the check going to my old address.

Answer:

Answer by I
At my college . The day i start classes is the day I got my refund .

Answer by Forest Greene
Although it is probably too late for this semester, go to your school’s student website or financial aid office, and fill out the paperwork for a direct deposit of your financial aid refund. Most schools issue their refund checks at the end of the add drop week. If you have direct deposit, the amount will show up in your bank account on the first Monday or Tuesday AFTER the first week of school is over. If you did not request a deposit, the school will send out a check on the same day, which will arrive in the mail within two weeks of the send date.

I typically advise students without stable addresses, to leave their parents’ address as their permanent mailing address. If you didn’t do that, it is possible that the check will be sent to your old address. Make sure that you file a forwarding address form with your post office, and you should still get your check fairly quickly.

Hope this helps.

Do lawyers have access to police reports? – Fax Free

fax free

By Sundi: Do lawyers have access to police reports?
Hi I would like to know if lawyers have access to read police reports. This was my first time being arrested and someone told me that I would be receiving mail from lawyers and they were right. I asked a lawyer who I had a free consultation with and told me that they just get a record that someone was arrested and they “jump” on this knowledge and send out the offers? Is this true or do they actually already know your case if you are one of their clients coming in that they previously contacted via mail?
I am asking this because I am contacting lawyers that want me to come in to speak to them. I have transportation trouble so some have requested that I fax the police report to them, but someone is telling me that lawyers already have access to police reports and should not need me to send me this information to them.
Hopefully someone can clarify this for me
Thanks in advance!

Yes they do.

Answer by Libertarians 4 real choice
Arrests are pretty much public record, though they might have to do some digging to find your address. But that’s not too difficult to do.

I wouldn’t go with a lawyer who contacts you out of the blue. Such an attorney is desperate for clients, which is not a good sign.

To answer your question, no they don’t have access to your police report. They can only get that after they become your lawyer, at which time the prosecutor has to disclose the evidence and reports to them at some point in the pre-trial procedings.

Answer by Allison P
They do have access to police reports, and some attorneys go to the courthouse daily to seek out people that have been arrested.

Answer by CAIN
They usually have people within the Dept. who call them with the info!~!

FAQ: I want to purchase using Access USA, and they are asking me to send them my Photo ID and my credit card?

Question by kiki: I want to purchase using Access USA, and they are asking me to send them my Photo ID and my credit card?
I have signed in with ACCESS USA and I wanted to purchase using their personal shopper services where they can purchase goods for you and they get paid for their service .
they sent me an email that they want a ” fax copy of your Photo ID (passport or drivers license) AND a copy of the front and back of your credit card on file.”
is not that risky to give my Credit Card to someone even to a trusted company?
what do you think, shall I send it to them or cancel the whole service?

thanx :)

well they mentioned in the email that they want it because of ” high rates of stolen credit cards and identity theft, having this information helps protect the card holder and MyUS.com from fraud and keep our prices low. ”

Answer:

Answer by sbmotoracer
I’d send them an email asking them why they want the photo id. Seems like they want it for a different reason then to verify your ID.

Unable to access dial-up even though line is o.k. and provider says all is o.k.?

fax software

Question by John R: Unable to access dial-up even though line is o.k. and provider says all is o.k.?
I have dial-up email and internet access via a small, local ISP. I have been not been able to send or receive email or access the internet from my home computer for about a week. The error messages I get say “command error: ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: cannot connect to the mailserver” and that the network timed out. When I try to check email, it ays “Checking email”, then it says, “No other messages” even though there are many. It also displays the server name I’m connected to and the send and receive speeds.

I can access email via web mail from any other computer. I am able to make and receive phone calls as well as send and receive faxes from that phone line. I have contacted my ISP. He said that everything “looks normal” from his end and that something must be wrong with my phone line or computer (hardware? software? Settings?) What should I do?

Best answer:

Answer by incantius
do you have a firewall on your PC? maybe it’s blocking your connection? if you can make calls and fax it’s not the phone lines. the same wires are used. if it was a DSL connection then maybe the pairs used by DSL are bad, but with dial up that’s not an issue. contact your ISP…with a brick in hand…

Answer by dannylee00
Your going to need a cellphone for this. Call your ISP with the cellphone and then explain the problem again. Dial out to the provider and let him run a “ping” test to your system. This will verify connectivity. Do the same from your end. Once you have ruled out the line then look at the software installed for dial up. Check the setting against what is suppose to list for your modem. The ISP should have done these layer one test to get you back online. Once you can surf the net then check your setting for your email account. Verify with the company that this is also set up right.

Answer by Jim H
Since your other computer works, it’s not the ISP. Drop the brick before someone gets hurt.

It sounds like the modem or the cable to the wall socket is bad.

I bet you’ve got a few dozen of these cables laying around – just change it and see what happens.

Modems are cheap, less than , and easy to replace.

Answer by charlie -
AVG POP3 Proxy Server: that looks like your AVG is blocking access you need to go into options and reset them or uninstall AVG and reinstall it some how it might have been corrupted

Q&A: If I’m the victim of a car accident, do I have access to this?

fax driver

Ask by glow from within: If I’m the victim of a car accident, do I have access to this?
Exactly one month ago I was in my first accident:

Basically a teenager driving a truck ran his light and hit my car.

I have been going through his insurance and been to hell and back trying to track everyone down since they are spanish-speakers.

No, I don’t have a police report because they never showed up. I sent a crash report through the mail in the allowed time period though.

All I need now is a copy of the driver’s license of the kid that hit me. Well, he has left the state. I managed to have contact him and his local insurance agency told him to fax them his DL.

I do have his DL number. Do you think I can somehow obtain a copy of his driver’s license?

Maybe through the police dept.

Best answer:

Answer by Eisbär
You can file a request to the DMV. They have forms for that if it is involving a traffic accident and you need information to find them for the case. Sometimes they make it be filled out by the lawyer, but I guess if you are representing yourself, then they might let you make the request. They will make you pay a fee and sign some forms probably, but that’s the agency you would probably do that with. If you asked the police, they would have to do the same thing probably.

Is the government trying to give socialized internet access so they can monitor people better? – Fax Software

fax software

Ask by DemsKillEconomy: Is the government trying to give socialized internet access so they can monitor people better?
I was trying to think about why the Democrats kept pusing for government socialized internet access and based off of the other behavior of Obama, Bush, and even Clinton I realized why.

The private companies providing access makes it harder for the government to monitor who searches what when and to more heavily monitor the internet.

One of my customers used to work for the White House under clinton in the data mining department. He said that when people would search the internet they could monitor everything they surf including bank and credit card information. I was shocked by this, but it brought everything together for me.

This can be effective in combating terrorism, but is a massive invasion of privacy if misused.

For those of you that were afraid of Bush listening in on your phone conversations, this should really scare you and is much more invasive to me. What if you write something they do not like? They are watching everything.

The Clinton administration consistently championed the

How to receive fax into Microsoft Access database? – Fax | How To

fax how

By Edward M: How to receive fax into Microsoft Access database?
I would like to import received faxes into an Access database. How would I do this? I found the Windows XP fax tool, which seems to dump faxes in TIFF format into a folder, but how would I easily load these into a table so they can be viewed and printed along with the record they pertain to?
There will be a lot of faxes. I need to have an image of the faxed quotes stored in the customer record. I figured I would have to have an inbox for the received faxes, which the clerk will select from when accessing the record. I looked at OLE objects, but unless it’s a BMP it doesn’t seem to want to display it on a form.

Featured answer:

Answer by myopic_chaos
Access will allow you to store objects like pictures (and TIFFS) in field in a table. data type: “OLE object” They ARE HUGE… I hope there are not a lot of them. You may want to find another method, like having a feild that is a link to the picure in a drive somewhere.

My only question is how are you going to match up the name of the file to the records in your database? Will you have to open them up and look at them to match them to records in your database?

Will part of your process be to upload the contents of the TIFF folder and then assign them to the records in your database? I am assuming you dont’ know the content of the fax until you look at it.

uploading them is easy enough, you can do somthing in VBA that upload the content of the folder and then sort through them.

here is a trick- use the macro editor in Access, and then convert it to Visual basic and save you a bit of typing and looking up VBA expressions

Next response:
Humm, it would be a pain to convert them to Bitmaps.

I am assuming that you want to be able to read the fax as you have the customer record up?

Does it HAVE to be on the form? What if there was a link on a form (or rather a sub form) that popped up the fax?

I am just thinking off the top of my head-
Perhaps keeping a separate table with hyperlinks (Hyperlink is a Field type) to a drive where the tiffs are kept.
On This table can also keep general information about the fax.
(I don’t know your business, but you may want to categorize the faxes you receive. Also on this table is the index reference of the customer, with general information about the fax
(Like response # or perhaps “Receipt” or “Customer complaint”")

So, the end result would be a form that holds that customer record, and then a sub form on the bottom that shows all the hyperlinks to the faxes stored on a drive, and then next to the hyperlink is the information about the fax. If you want to read the actual fax, click the hyperlink. When you click on the hyperlink, the picture it will come up in internet explorer.
That way you can not just hold faxes- but perhaps link to any other electronic file on your drive concerning that customer? Like saved documents that you sent them? Like maybe the customer’s website- if the computer that holds the database has internet access.

This will keep your database much more manageable if it does not actually hold the fax
All you have to do is come up with a naming system for your files that makes sense
Like
2006_12_06_01_Davis_industries.tif
2006_12_06_02_Davis_industries.tif
2006_12_06_03_Davis_industries.tif
2006_12_06_01_Davis_industries.tif

Your Next thought is – ah geeze, I already have tons of faxes!

That is ok, with a simple dos command, (or with some simple freeware programs out there) you can turn the contents of that directory into a text file and upload the file names into an access table.

NEXT RESPONSE

Ok- I looked at your question again. You want a tool to help you sort through the faxes… is that really what you need?

Please leave your answer in the comments! Thanks.
