Do You Know of a Good, Low-Priced All-in-One for Scan, Fax, Photo Printing?

My Question: Do You Know of a Good, Low-Priced All-in-One for Scan, Fax, Photo Printing?
… that doesn’t cost a ton of money for the ink that it uses?
I recently purchased a HPOfficejet 4315 All-IN-One for 99.00, and it came with a 50.00 rebate from HP. I am really pleased with it!
I have a HP OfficeJet K80 all-in-one, printer, fax, scanner, copier and I’m looking for the installation disk. It didn’t survive the move.
What do you think? Answer below please!

Question: I have an HP Officejet J4550 All-In-One printer/fax. It steals my “focus” How do I change this?
This is the one at work. If I open the lid, or if someone tries to fax while I am working, a window opens on top of all my other applications. Can I change this?
It sounds like this printer is directly connected to your computer then. That popup window is the function of the printer driver/software that you have installed on your computer so you can print to it. I doubt that there’s a way to disable it without removing the software completely and installing it again each time you want to use it. About the only somewhat easy option I can think of would be to disconnect it from your computer when you’re not using it, then plug it back in when you need to (make sure you plug it back into the same slot/port on your computer each time or disconnect it at the printer).

What all-in-one printers connect through a parallel port?
Posted by in Fax Free on January 16, 2012

Q&A: What all-in-one printers connect through a parallel port?
I need a printer that can print via the parallel port. Its the only connection my register system will work with. Ideally, I would like the printer to be an all-in-one, ie. fax, scan, copy… What are some models that are relatively cheap?
No new printer connects via a parallel port that I know of. They’re all USB, Ethernet, or WiFi nowadays.
All All-In-One’s that i know connect via USB. Parallel port connections are mostly defunct and certainly not available on any modern printer
Believe it or not, there are quite a few printer that has a parallel option and if you don’t need color then you are looking in the 0 and up range.

- – If you can only find USB printers – -
If it is a specialized computer, i.e cash register, inventory control, then you might be out of luck There is a few adapters that can fool the computer to use the Parallel as a USB, but have very little luck.
The hard part: the S in USB is serial but you want to use it as a parallel.
If it is a program that only prints to a parallel port and can’t be updated. Then you have a real problem, but it is still do able.
If the register is net workable then that would be the best.
And most likely you will never be able to tell the register to fax or scan.
Do look for a parallel-to-usb cable but the printer software will not work and like I said, It really took a lot of trial and error before getting it to work.
Well you can purchase a Parallel to USB cable.
This way you can have your pick of whatever you want, The USB plugs into the printer and the Parallel plugs into your computer.
Cable will run you about 15 dollars or so, And they work really good.

What is good all-in-one: copy, scan, print, fax? – Fax Free
Posted by in Fax Free on January 13, 2012

Q&A: What is good all-in-one: copy, scan, print, fax?
For home use, not commercial use.
We are not tech savvy, and don’t need a lot of bells and buzzers on the all-in-one. Simple to use, simple to set up, etc. Must have fax in addition to copy, scan, print.
It must be easy to align. I have an HP printer, scanner, copy machine and all I have to do is print out the alignment page, scan it into the printer and it is set. I had Lexmark before and hated it. You print out the alignment page, and have to look at lines of grey and/or black and adjust each one. It was hard to see which line was most clear and if it needed adjusted to lighter or darker. So, please suggested a machine that is like the HP for alignment.
Price wise, can go into low $ 100 (like $ 129), but not over that for cost. Free shipping would help too.
I have looked at some on line, and so many of them have low customer reviews, due to machine jamming very easy. That is why I have not been able to find any that sound good.
Epson wins for best price/feature comparison, best warranty and lowest cost of ink. They have a new deal every day. For the past few days, refurbished printers with full one-year warranty were available from to with free shipping! You can’t beat their warranty. If anything goes wrong, they will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one at their expense. You can get ink for under 50 cents a cartridge. You pay under 2.50 for reusable cartridges and then get back for the empties. Or you can buy refillables (which is what Im using now) and refill yourself for pennies. The info on the Epson deals is updated constantly at http://ccs-digital.com/Best-printer-deals.asp
You might also want to sign up for epson’s deal of the day. Until the holidays they will be featuring a deal every day. Thursday it was the Workforce 323 for with free shipping. friday it was the 325 for with free shipping, which I bought.
I have a number of epson printers and have never had to align them.

Ask by Doug C: How do I use the fax for the Dell A940 all-in-one?
I purchased a used all-in-one Dell printer from a friend and he lost his manual on how to use the fax part of it. Could someone PUHLEEEZ be nice and explain to me how I go about sending out faxes on this thing? My friend has’nt used it in over 3 yrs. and can’t seem to remember how to use it. Thanx!

The best way to see about getting this to work will be looking at the Owner’s Manual. Here is the link to the Manuals for the A940 http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/a940/en/index.htm#online_documentation at the bottom of the page there will be a PDF for “Faxing instructions” that will explain this.
Please be aware as per the “Faxing instructions” you will need to use faxing software and a computer modem. This printer does not have a built in modem so it will require the computer to have one.
I hope this helps.

number appeared on my computer asking if I wanted to take the # as a fax with the telephone # displayed. That no longer comes on and when I click on fax, my recieved & sent fax messages are gone. How can I restore my fax?

Your best best is to completely uninstall the printer software and the drivers from your computer. Disconnect the fax from your computer and restart your computer. With the fax/printer disconnected from your computer reinstall the drivers and software This should return your to the functionality you had before.
