Do you really have to ask? Why in the world would any company hire someone with no qualifications, at K a year plus 10% — and do so through spam emails? And by the way, the FBI does not make “arrangements” like that stated.

I have a letter that is in Chinese that my mom got through a Fax, since she can read Chinese and I can’t, I was hoping to be able to somehow copy the text off of the image. I have done this before with Microsoft Office: One Note, but it can only find text in english, french, and spanish (as far as I know). I’m not trying to be invading, but it has to do with my aunt and uncle since their names are in the header. Thanks in advance. P.S. She won’t tell me what’s on the letter since it was for her…
P.S. I have taken a picture of the letter. I just need to somehow decipher it.

u can fax thru internet but only thu fax servers i.e. servers specially configured to do so…. these services are generally provided by corporates for their employees so that they scan docs and fax it by email only…..in email address they write fax number and as server is configured it faxes the attached docs to the desired location….

There is an even easier solution than using fax servers. Internet fax services, like MyFax, allow users to send/receive faxes through their emails. There is no need to buy expensive hardware or software; all you need to sign up is an email address (yahoo emails work). You can fax from anywhere! It’s very inexpensive. Go to http://www.myfax.com

You need a fax modem. Most computers have one, it is the same modem you would plug in a telephone line to for dialup internet.
If it was installed correctly, there should be a fax printer in your printer list. Print to that and the software should pop up with further instructions.

If you have faxing software in your computer (which most Windows machines have or you can find one free on the Web) you can fax the item to yourself, to your fax machine number.

I can’t believe there is a FAX machine with NO telephone connection, then by definition it is not a fax!
Look again very carefully and you will find it. – Or read the manual.
There is no “small” ethernet plug. It must be a phone plug or some other special plug that came with the Fax machine.

hey, why don’t you just use an online fax service? that way you won’t have to use a fax machine. if you have pc and internet you can fax anywhere in the world. you save on electricity too. i learned about it here http://www.onlinefaxfree.net

Not sure where you’re located, but in the UK there’s Oxonera at…

… which gives you a free fax number that will convert to an incoming email.
For outgoing, there’s “The Phone Company”
http://www.tpc.int
… where you can send via email, but they don’t cover every destination. It’s a volunteer service.
If you don’t mind a low monthly fee (about ) the efax service ( www.efax.com ) is good and supports a very wide range of attachments to convert into fax. They have a 30 day free trial so you can decide if you’re happy with it before you commit.

You either need to connect an old analogue modem to the phone line and computer to use Windows fax, or subscribe to an internet fax relay.

Fax uses phone land lines, so you’ll need the correct modem, wired to the phone jack and Windows fax services (avail. on XP; not sure about Vista).
For XP, go to Control Panel> Printers & Faxes; on the far left column tick ‘send a fax’ then follow the Fax Wizard.

Almost all hotels and motels offer fax service as a part of the room cost. If not, many pharmaces, libraries, real estate offices will send your fax for a small fee.

There is an even easier way to fax without carrying around your fax machine. You can use an Online fax service. Faxes are sent/received in your email. You don’t need any software or an additional phone line. Take a look at http://www.myfax.com
