Question: Employment application vs. resume?
I am applying for a job at a city office, they have a online application or I can fax my resume. Which is better? Or should I do both?
I just realized that I have to print the application off the website and fax it in, but there is also a link to e-mail a resume but not the application. Should I still fax them both?

& today I got the interview, wasnt i supposed to fill out an application or do some companies not use them. ???
Is this a bad sign if i wasen’t asked to fill one out. ??

Some companies don’t use them, they just go by the resume. If one was required, I’m sure they would have asked you to complete one while you were there.

If you fill out a application via the Internet you don’t have to fill another one.Every company is different so don’t worry.

they called you for interview,because they have seen you application. when you send them a thank giving mail,it sounds stupid.They had interview for 45 mint us.They are not stupid so Waite for a call.Again I wish you good luck.

Sometimes they won’t ask you to fill one out until you are already hired. If they feel that they have all the info they need in a resume to make a hiring decision, and don’t require an application, then there’s no point until you’re hired. The reason is because the app will go into your file and it is a LEGAL document. That’s why you always hear so much about not falsifying your app.
Other times, if they ask you to fill one out, it may not mean anything. Often times this happens because the company requires an application and then they just want to be consistent. Anyway, don’t sweat it. You probably did just fine!

I want to know if its possible to submit the application personally, by driving to the office of admissions at George Mason University and handing them my supporting documentation personally. George Mason has been known to misplace some supporting documentation, but my main concern is if I were to mail it, it might arrive past the application due date. I am applying today online, but they wish for you to send supporting documentation (such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, counselor reports etc.) my mail, e-mal, or fax. I don’t want to risk my documents arriving past Janurary 15th. Geroge Mason is about 20 minutes from here, so do you think they would allow me dropping it off personally. Has anyone ever dropped an application off personally? I’ll have everything I need by Monday or Tuesday, but will it arrive their by January 15th (next monday which is Martin Luther King’s Birthday) if the school is 20 minutes away? Please answer all questions it would be a great help to me!

i sent my application online but i delivered my credentials (transcript, letters of recommendation) personally at UT. just make sure you get a receipt when you turn it in, and you should have it all in an envelope..good luck!

Wow…this is not necessarily the answer you want to hear, but you have to check in with the admissions office. My former university would accept admissions applications in person, but before the deadline. You don’t have to tell them “why” you want to submit it in person. Good luck.

If you are really concerned, then dropping off your application personally should alleviate your concerns. However, if you only live twenty minutes away, it will only take a day to have your application materials arrive by mail. I would only worry about mailing your materials if you lived in an international destination.

Every university I’ve dealt with will accept hand delivery. But I’d suggest you call ahead to make sure you get there during office hours.
Also–most universities have on-line options for a lot of this paperwork now–and that speeds things up considerably. You should ask what your options are in that regard as well. Also check on faxing some documents if that seems appropriate.

NEVER TRUST THe PO. I am still waiting on a priority mail package that was mailed in Aug. Def. hand deliver it and get a rec. for it.. As far as transcripts, they have to be the official transcripts MAILED from the schools.. U may be able to hand deliver the rest but not official transcipts..

I sent a letter thru email and fax . All of my batch mates are already in canada. where can i call directly to them not using the toll fee? i’ve already spend thousands pesos on phone call and i am always on hang.

3 months is just too short to know the answer of your application, you just have to wait a little or a year or more.But you can check your application status at www.cic.gc.ca
But you have to type in your file number if you already have it.

Hempire Materials: Application of Hemp and Lime Plaster

Brendan Kelly’s lime plastering has previously been featured on the RTE program, “About the House” (www.rte.ie This is Brendan’s description of the work: I did a small job for a couple near Kinvara, Co. Galway, Ireland. They had blocked up a door in their house. While this is a very small job, the video demonstrates very well how easy the application of the Hempire plaster is. The door was blocked up using Heraklyte shredded wood boards. Because these boards need to breath, a lime render was necessary. The Target I worked at had computer terminals where you apply at the store (right by the customer service desk or entrance). They do not have written applications. Also, after applying in the store they will often give an (easy) interview immediately afterward. I would just go in with your list of references/previous work experience so you can fill out the forms on the computers completely.

I would like to add an online job application to my website. Currently all I have on the site is a downloadable application which prospective employees have to download, print, fill out and either scan/email or fax to the office. I would like to streamline this process by having it filled out directly on the site. What would be the best way to get my standard application transferred into a digital format? Thank you!

You have to create the application in a form format in html, have a script that will send you the results.
http://mindpalette.com has a good php script for this and a good tutorial but there are others out there.
If you are taking sensitive info, like a social security number, and address, there are additional steps you must take.
You must first make sure the form is secure via email – you will need to make sure the email is sent to you encrypted, via PGP. THen you would decrypt the email when you receive it.
