We want to file Chapter 13 and we do want to use a lawyer-the thing is we would like to use a lawyer that will communicate via email/phone/ fax as opposed to having to find time to go to a lawyers office-has anyone been able to find a lawyer that will work this way?

Pretty much every lawyer is going to want to do the initial meetings face to face; payment of retainer, initial transfer of documents to be included, and changes as they occur.
It’ll be minimal; but still needed.

Hello, I’m a Canadian living in the United States. I mailed my son’s passport renew application to Passport Canada Quebec office on March 20th. I haven’t received anything from passport Canada since then. My family trip is on June 1.Are there any chance I can get my son’s passport before May 31?
I have tried to call the passport office and I could never get in. And I also sent email and fax inquiry, and there was no answer either. What should I do? !! Please help!!!!
Thanks for all of you who replied! Your help is very appreciated! I mailed the application with UPS and I checked the tracking number, it said the package arrived Passort Canada on March 22nd.
I have a family trip planned and we booked the flight tickets for June 1. Before I mail my son’s application, I called the Canadian Consulate in Chicago and stated my concerns of the passprot processing time. They replied that my case is not considered urgent, so all I can do is just to mail the application and wait for my luck. Now with three weeks left, flight tickets and planned trip( also a few days to get the visas to travel). will all of these enough to make my case urgent?

How long ago did you send the fax/email enquiry? When I sent an enquiry to them in January, it took about 5 days to get a reply.
I would wait another week or so…if you haven’t heard anything by then, trying calling the passport office again. You may have to try quite a few times to get through to them, but you will eventually.
If you put the travel date on the application form, you should get your sons passport in time. But it might not be until the last minute.
My boyfriend got his passport 2 days before we were to travel. It’s stressful, I know, but hang in there. I am sure you will get it in time

You should have gotten a reply by now. Call them but as you know passport applications are backed up. Since your trip is only in June you still have time.

When I mailed my application it said with the delay it would be 9 weeks, plus mail time. About a month passed and the website changed to say 10 weeks. My passport finally came after 14 weeks. Yours was mailed 10 weeks before your trip and with international mail takes longer. I think unless they drastically sped something up you will be out of luck.
There isn’t much you can do. There is a tracking option on the website, but it also says that could slow down the progress.
I put a travel date on my passport. It didn’t matter. It was a good thing I hadn’t booked a flight.

I’ve never had that experience. They’ve nevr asked for a fax or copy of my credit cards. I like ordering form them online since I don’t have to go thru the abundance of cothes at the actual store. I also like that I can return it back to the store.

01 is the country code for the U.S. but you will also need to dial whatever access code there is in China for long distance.
BTW: If it is a toll free number you can’t dial it.

So, for you, you dial
+1 xxx xxx xxxx
The + is the number YOU dial to access international calling. In the US, I dial 011 to access international, then the country code, then the number. For example, a french phone # is
+33 1 XX XX XX XX
I dial 011, then 33 for france, then 1 for paris, then the rest for the person’s number.
However, NOT every country dials 011 for international….hence the + you see when given a phone number from someone outside your country.

I sent my resume to a company who had a job posted in the paper a few days ago. They wanted resumes either faxed or emailed and did not provide a phone number. I checked the box for a read receipt so when mine was read, I knew it was received and by whom. Is it too soon to ask for an interview? Should I call or email and what is the proper wording to ask for one?

U should wait about 4 days then call them to ask if they looked at anything u need to show that u really care about the job and u want it.

There is nothing wrong with contacting them again. If they have hundreds of resumes being submitted, the person that stands out will probably get the job. Email them back and let them know that you are very interested in the position and feel that you would be a good fit. Ask for the interview.

Weekly is fine. Call or e-mail is fine. I just hate when I get a call every day from someone…drives me crazy!

I would call in 2-3 days just to check to see if they received your resume, then base what to do next on what they say. If they say they have and will call you in 2 days, call them on the 3rd day if you haven’t heard from them, etc….You have to let them know you are interested in the job – its a big plus to them.

i’ve been faxing, emailing for jobs for weeks now, my resume was checked already, i’m going to school for AA degree, bur no one is calling me up. I don’t know what’s the problem. I’m on leave right now due to pregnancy, and i need to get hired by May 1st because I do not want to do childcare/babysitting anymore for preschool. Do they check your background before they call you?

If your resume was checked, then it is likely that some managers did go through a more detailed screening process. It i not unusual for hiring staff to check social networking websites (Facebook, MySpace) to determine someone’s character.
In some cases, someone in the business knows someone from your previous job and could give an informal reference.
Also, many jobs are going up in smoke because many business are suffering from the recession. Perhaps you are sending a resume that is not appealing to employers
Keep in mind that you are not the only person applying for these positions and it could be that there are more experienced candidates seeking the positions that you applied for.

It’s a common Internet scam.
Does it really sound likely that a free lottery, has the resources to give away m per day? That’s three quarters of a billion dollars a year!
Add to that the child like use of English, and the obvious mistakes. You’d think a billion dollar corporation could hire someone that speaks English!
Also if you plug that incomplete address into Yahoo! you will see a page of fake email warning sites.

how long do you think i need to stop using my free account for aol before they cancel it? because ive been trying to cancel it without having to mail/fax/call them…and i read somewhere that i just stop using it they’ll delete it. the thing is i have stopped using it for a year (until recently when i tried to cancel it) but it’s still working. so i was just wondering, if any of u guys out theere have tried cancelling your account this way and how long it took you to get your account cancel or if you know any way i can calncel it online? because the link they gave me doesnt work. and i know many states have filed lawsuits for the trouble the customers been having about this account cancellation too. so what happened?
no, mine is the free edition. i havent been charged before because they didnt ask for my credit card number. however, they have my phone number, but i dont think they charged it on my phone bill…

no .. u read wrong .. if they have ur credit card # or bank account they will most likely charge it until u change the account or cancel the card …

Have you not been charged for using AOL. I remember when I stupidly decided to try AOL with one of them free cd’s I had to hand over credit card details so that when the free trial finished they could charge me. Well two weeks before the free trail finished I phoned up to cancel and was told all is well. Yet they still ended up charging my credit card even tho my account for the email was stopped within a couple of hours. Yet 6 years later I can still access my emails though AIM!! I ended up having to phone my credit card company to tell them to stop AOL from charging my card and that they had took two months out which my card company gave back.

If you don’t use it for a long time, it will eventually be deleted out of the aol database. afterall, they don’t give a dam about u or people. If that doesn’t happen, the only way out is to call aol tech support.
