My Question: Need help installing a black ink cartridge into a used HP officejet 7110 all in one.Disks, fax, all instal.ok.
This machine was bought second hand from an office products store. I have bought a new pwr module, pwr cord, usb cable, as well as new cartridges to install. Just need to help me get the cartridge installed …. which doesn’t seem to fit the description of what I see in the manual I have for the 7100 series. Thanks
OK. Accoriding to HP.com you haev a pretty big machine. Not only does it use ink cartridges it also uses printhead cartridges. The ink cartridge you should be using have the number 14 on them, as do the printheads. HOWEVER, the black ink should have (on the bottom of the box real small) HP c5011dn. This is the number for the black ink cartridge. The number for the black printhead is HP c4920a. Make sure you hae the right item and make sure you are installing it forward and not backward. HP has some pretty good support so feel free to visit their site and get more info. They will also tell you that this machine has been discontinued and replaced with the 7210. I hope this helps.

Hi. I’ve had incredible luck with my machine. It must be 5 or so years old. Page counter is almost 11,000 pages! It does the job!
I always get toner via the internet. i’ve had good luck with inkjetsuperstore.com, then decided to go with a cheaper brand — suppliesoutlet.com.
After I loaded a new cartridge from the new company, huge black streaks began almost immediately. They have gotten worse over time. A page will print 80% black now. the first page is the best (but, still terrible quality) then it gets worse.
here is the thing. i save some old toner cartridges for emergencies (they were printing light, but still had some toner left in it). i loaded them, but the problem does not seem to have gotten better. that seems strange.
any suggestions. is the problem the fax machine?

This is an easy one, thank goodness for you.
Your drum is simply had it’s life and ready for the recycle pile.
You know when you replace the TN2025 and it slots into that big piece of plastic with the shiny roll? That is the drum. It is called a DR2025. They have a life of about 12000 pages, and sometimes compatible cartridges will help that life shorten. But that is ok.
Here is Australia (which has bushfires on one coast and floods bigger than the size of Texas on the other 
) the drum will cost you about 0. A new fax machine (the 2820 is still available here) will cost you a little more than that. (9 ish)
So the question is, do you love it and therefore replace the drum, or is it itime for a new printer, which will come with a genuine toner and a brand new drum (I wouldn’t recommend the cheaper toner again!)

my fax machine is not working properly, canon can’t help me they sent me to a company that charges $ 150 an hour just to look at the fax. My machine prints out a full black page whenever you make a copy or printout a confirmation page, It prints out a completely black page. Does anybody know why??? and how to fix it. Please no silly answers I need helpful answers…Thanks

the first thing to try is to clean the scanner, if that does not work in maybe the power supply is faulty

i am a computer tech and every day i service laser printers and fax machines. the way we clean them is to take them out of the machine and clean them with a piece of paper towel. any soft foamy rollers MUST NOT be cleaned with liquid of any kind, just wiped off with a towel. any solid rubber rollers can be rinsed with some water and wiped clean till dry with a paper towel. Definatley refer to the manual if you have it.

Put on the red fuzzy slippers to make your feet feel warm, put the black glove on to make yourself look cool, take the note out of the seashell and fax it to your boss at work or your best friend, listen to the seashell, and finally jump rope for good exercise.

It means you tried to fax to someone that doesn’t have a color fax machine. Faxing from your machine in color will cause the fax to come out choppy on their end so your machine is telling you to fax again on the black and white setting.
