I need tech support for a computer built by a friend with no manufacturer.? – Fax Driver
Posted by in Fax Driver on April 27, 2011

Question by lesmichisa l: I need tech support for a computer built by a friend with no manufacturer.?
My mother asked if I would look at her printer because it is not working properly. I followed the troubleshooting info in printers and faxes from the control panel. I removed the printer driver to add the updated printer driver. Now the computer screen says “Out of range”? everything is receiving power, connections are correct and the printer is disconnected. My mom can’t use the computer at all and has no means of tech support since she bought the computer from a person who built it himself. He is unable to be reached for help.

Assuming you have a Windows XP or Vista machine, try these:
1. Boot into Last Good Configuration.
or
2. Boot into Safe Mode With Networking and try to repair things from there. (Safe Mode With Networking is NOT intended to be a production mode. It’s for troubleshooting only.)
To get into Safe Mode with Networking:
1.Log out and reboot your machine.
2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3.Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.
4.Login.
5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
6.When you’re finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
Good luck.

Try booting the computer up in safe mode. It sounds like the screen resolution may have been accidentally changed! Hit the power button on the computer a couple of times, hold it down, and the third time it comes back up, start hitting the F8 key on the keyboard.
Press the enter key after about 60 seconds.

Some fax machines have the capabilty of printing documents like a dedicated printer would. Normally a pure fax machine has no interface to attach it to a computer, only phone line connections. If yours has a USB connection then you should be able to connect it to a computer and print to it like a printer or possibly receive faxes directly to the computer rather than having the fax machine print a hard copy received fax.

winfax is a decent program; get a non-current edition and it is real cheap; very easy to use.
Answer by Ashkan
WinFax is on the best programs…
But there is a program in Vista Business i think the name is Send Fax… To be honest I’ve never worked with it to say it’s good or bad,but you can give it a try… But WinFax is so good…
