why is a company asking me for a copy of my photo id and credit card?

Fax Service: why is a company asking me for a copy of my photo id and credit card?
A travel agency called ABC Traveling Services offers cheap rates for flights from and to Germany. I’ve goggle searched them and no scams have come up. When I tried to pay with my credit card they sent me a credit authorization form, and asked me to fax them a copy of my driver’s license and credit card (in color). Could this be an Identity theft scam? Or do overseas companies do this all the time as authorization for payment?
OMG!!! give nothing!!!!!!!!!!! SCAM
yes ,scam obviously

credit card authorizations? – Fax Online
Posted by in Fax Online on December 31, 2011

My Question: credit card authorizations?
Has anyone ever filled one of these out? If so, is it a form I can print out online?
The reason I want it is because my parents are paying for a spring break trip with their credit card….but they won’t be going. I will be checking in, and i don’t have my name on their credit cards. So, we were going to fill out and fax the credit card authorization to the hotel—so I wouldn’t have a problem checking in.
Easy solution to this:
Get your parents to make you an authorized user on the card.
Within 10 days you will receive a credit card with your name on it.
You will be able to use this card as you please – no problems.
Forget the credit card authorization the hotel is wanting.
Just call the credit card company and get a credit card that you will be able to use in case of emergencies.
Tell your parents to mention these words “authorized user”.
That way you will not have to carry extra cash in that vacation.
Note: Do not let your friends talk you into buying stuff with that card.
You MUST keep this card a secret from every single friend.

the hotel usually faxes the authrozation to the parnets,,, so they can sign it
(I used to work at kinkos and this was common the hotel would fax the authroizan to the parnet
they would sign and fax it back
now you might be able to contact the hotel in advance and they could send or fax to you
so your parnets can sign then you can carry it with you.,..
If the hotel reservations are made with your parents’ credit card and you have the card in hand when you check in, the hotel will probably take it with out an authorization form.
Your parents can simply write a note authorizing you to use the credit card. You don’t need any special form. If the hotel wants some kind of authorization, the important part is their signature.

how much is a reasonable price for a green card medical exam? – Fax Free
Posted by in Fax Free on December 14, 2011

My Question: how much is a reasonable price for a green card medical exam?
I recently got married and am in the process of applying for a greencard, which requires a medical examination. I was quoted a price of $ 490 for a complete examination, with all the required vaccinations. I have some vaccination records form my home country but upon faxing them to a medical office, they called back saying that they were not acceptable. I guess this is a 2 part question.
1) what is a reasonable price for the medical exam
and 2) what kind of vaccination records are foreigners applying for a green card required to produce? (doctors signature etc. etc.)
Lol 0?
well where i live it costs 50 bucks.
and for the green card thing, i dont know
1) 0
2) ask that after you pay the 0
1. In New England, medicals run around 0.

How long does it take to dispute a credit card charge?
Posted by in Fax Online on November 14, 2011

Question by Ted Sheckler: How long does it take to dispute a credit card charge?
I bought a ticket to an event that was supposed to happen in June with my credit card. It was a non-refundable ticket, but the event was canceled and the company that was hosting it quietly ceased operations. They claim they’ve sent out letters to everyone who bought a ticket with information on how to get our money back.
I called Visa to dispute the charges and the first two representatives told me that they won’t do anything until the company declares bankruptcy. The third time I called, they agreed to dispute the charges, but said it would take 4-6 weeks. I also had to fax them documentation of online conversations I had with an owner of the company who stated that we would not be getting refunds. I’m also in correspondence with people who also bought tickets that have had their credit card companies dispute it and they had the charges reversed within a week.
Anyone else had a similar experience? I really don’t want to have to be that guy on the phone every day just to get my money back, but I really don’t want to just throw away $ 500 because the visa representatives are lazy.

Credit card companies must investigate/accept disputes initiated within 60 days of the date of the statement on which those charges appear.
That could be up to 91 days from date of account posting.

Maybe, but I wouldn’t do it. All he needs is the number on the back of your card and he can order stuff off the internet to his heart’s delight.
Answer by waplambadoobatawhopbamboo
cancel the order – he’s a thief
Answer by little fairy lady
Let him cancel your order. I have never had anyone ask for a copy of my credit card. Do not give it to them. Do your shopping somewhere else.
Answer by peacfulwar
The only need the back of the card to verify the 3 digit security code. However, most places online just simply ask that yoyu provide them with those numbers verbally. If it is not a reputable company example; Best Buy, Sears, ect ect. Otherwise I wouldnt give them jack.
Answer by tonalc1
NO! The back of your card contains your security code. He can use this to make purchases. Run far, run fast.

faxing credit card details?

Ask by 7oss87: faxing credit card details?
hi
i am about to book a hotel room online, the hotel wants me to fax my credit card details. do i send the credit card number only or should i send the security code as well?
also, is faxing my credit card details safer than online booking?
thanks
Featured answer:
Answer by Cheryl G
If you are faxing your credit card number, do not include the security code. If you are booking online, you should be able to access the hotel’s secure site for using credit cards. Neither is totally safe, frankly, but the online sites may be safer than faxing. After all, you don’t know where the fax is received and who might have access to your information.

put kard in it, slide a handel, & it run a roler over kard that press the number onto a paper karbon. Bak then em kept trak av all that paper & shipped it around.
So kredit kumpanees put a number on bak weer it dont impress the paper.
Answer by Kaiden
The 16 digit account number is the number that is on the front of the credit card, and the 3-digit code is the security number (pretty much to prove you actually have the card, and didn’t just sneak a peak at the front of someone else’s credit card.)
If the card is activated and you have that information, you can use the card online. You will likely NOT be able to use it in stores though; most stores are very weary on manually entering credit card information.
