He is trying to find out whether or not the warrant is still out for his arrest since his lawyer did all of this by phone/fax and plead not guilty without actually having to show up in front of the judge.

He can’t reach his lawyer until Monday morning and would rather find out today.

Once a court date is set up you no longet have a warrent. You can see that there is a court date so your friend has no warrent.

wait a minute! Your question makes no sense. Your friend has an attorney, who made filings and pleadings. Why doesn’t your friend just call his attorney and ask if there is a warrant for his arrest?

Hi everyone,
I believe I am involved in a serious internet fraud. It is an Internet logistics company, help customer ship packages oversea. I send some packages to them and they ship it abroad, with total postage near $ 300, and total item value near $ 400. Almost every package arrived destination with cracked inside.I have contact company’s sales rep and customer service. Both refused to settle a claim.
Then, here comes real problem:
I try to file a complaint against that company, but I cannot find company’s real name! I search its full name (from its website) on google, only result is its own website and its ad on forum. Searched on CA yellow page, only result is an unrelated truck dealer…
The postage, as their requesting, is paid in destination nation’s online bank, like paypal. Direct deposit, no refund protection. Pricing, deal, and agreement is completed online with no written paper.
The only hard evidence/clue in hand is their warehouse’s address in CA. I send my packages to them via UPS with tracking info and their received signature. I know they are there!! but,,,,,I am in NJ
Before walk into my lawyer’s office I want to find out its real name. Can I fax a lawful requesting to the company asking its register name? (They claim they are registered in south CA) Or can I call their local policy office or commercial committee or somebody to find out?? How can I do that?

Go here http://www.networksolutions.com then scroll to the bottom of the screen and you will find a place called something like whois, click that link the type in the .com addy of the company and it will list a bunch of info. IF they are not hiding behind a privacy setting all the into is there, no legit company hides.

Can you help me for Federal and CA. It was the first house and two mortgage loans just for home. Client lost home. Please advise. Thanks

Exactly what kind of mail did your client get? If it’s from the IRS, what letter number?
CP2000 has the fax number for responses in the upper right corner.
As for what you are doing, have you READ IRS publication 4681 and understood it?

There is a company trying to demand payment for a contract that has been voided and taken care of by the owner of that said company. The paperwork proving the contract is void has been faxed to the company’s lawyer. The lawyer’s office has now put us on “cease and desist.” Does this mean he knows he has no case but will continue to have it on file that we owe money? I know very little about legal stuff, but I HAVE watched enough “Judge Judy” to know they have no leg to stand on. Thanks for any legal advice (free of charge, lol).

Cease and Desist is a fancy term for STOP doing something. In the case you describe, it sounds like the lawyer is putting a note in the file instructing the company to quit trying to collect.

Cease and Desist cases are usually involving noncompete agreements, violation of confidentiality agreements or intellectual property infringement. “Cease and Desist” is like yelling “Fore” at the golf course. The letter is the precursor to a lawsuit. Try to get the misunderstanding resolved before it gets to that. Good luck -

care under my plan. her lawyer told her she counldnt go to our union for a medical review of her knee. she went to a doctor that her comp lawyer wanted her to go to. now we are getting billed by this doctor that her lawyer told her to go to. we talked to them and fax the medical bill to her lawyer. even after all this we are still being billed to them. do we have to pay or should the comp lawyer pay and just take it out when he gets his fee for i hope helping my wife settle her comp case

A couple of questions for you – why did she file a w/c case with a lawyer and not with her employer? (after the case is opened with the carrier she could seek legal representation with an attorney) What did the lawyer say as to why the bill is not paid? Did the w/c carrier approve the visit to that doctor? What type of fee arrangement did you make with the attorney? Are you paying him/her a retainer to take your case, or did they take it on a contingency basis? (Meaning they get paid when you settle) Did the agreement state that they will cover all the medical costs while this is all working out or does it say that you have to pay for your own medical costs?

Your Honor Judge Foote,
I have a civil case I cannot win from way back in the 1980’s because the records have been cut way back and my needed proof of how it was change to a civil case is not there any more. So I have no choice but to go at it from another way it seems. From the worlds view I am from an oddball religion and never really liked by other religions. But you likely know my religion well from your law schooling days because we had to fight in the Supreme Courts since the 1930’s to have are religious rights noticed and that worked out well for the whole nations freedoms and rights too. Before our fight the constitutional laws and bill of rights were mostly just words on paper not real in practice! And we won those rights in the courts peacefully not on the war fields of killing others. As well we do not mix in government business so to force our religious teachings on others as many others try doing. That is were my focus can change things if you see my point about other religions mixing in government business and influencing human law that caused my problems illegally from way back. History show the first Christian faith would die before mixing in war and government business just like my form of faith will not mix today! That can cause a dilemma in court if the state law is influenced by those other forms of faith in their teachings which happened in my case. But I left that alone all these years thinking all was well in my naïve thinking as I see the facts today! I will send you four other pages with this one that I hope will give a big clue what is really happening with other religions and you judge if I would have had a dilemma in court years ago if I disagreed with state law influenced by others faith if a conflict came up. That happened right here in Eugene Oregon back in the 1980’s! I will go by just Nathan at this time for privacy. But please do not fear using my email, I am not after the state but [what influenced the state in my case] and my rights ignored! That was other religions influence in the legal law system that made it illegal in my personal civil case! My lawsuit would be to in deed separate church and state in fact not word only! Am I naive or is this a good David and Goliath civil case?

Paragraph breaks are your friend.
I don’t think the judge is going to read a solid block of text like this, especially when there is no such thing as Separation of Church and State. Read the First Amendment for yourself.
Edit: While you say you are not a good writer, it still does not present a strong case for a judge to read your letter. You are more likely to bend his ear if you keep it short. Also, know the difference between “are” and “our” you used them interchangably.
Remember you are trying to sell yourself, just like sending in a resume’. Writing well and correctly is very important, especially if you want people to take you seriously.
Honestly, I’ve read this through three times and I still don’t get what you want to see happen.
