I am assuming you are using Windows XP.

Go to Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. Now on the left, click on the icon, “add/remove Windows components.

Place a checkbox in the Fax Service. Click next. You may be required to put in the Windows XP CD.

After the Fax Service is installed, go to your printers section. You will notice you now have a fax “printer.”

Right mouse-click the fax printer and go to Properties. Inside here is where you will find all your options to send/recieve faxes.

how to configure scan to e-mail via Gmail on a Xerox WorkCentre 5665? – Fax Software

Question by Simon Tonekham: how to configure scan to e-mail via Gmail on a Xerox WorkCentre 5665?
Hey there, guys.

At our workplace, we have a Xerox Workcentre 5665 multifunction machine that does photocopying, faxing and printing. However, that particular machine has the capability of scanning to e-mails as well.

In the past, all of our e-mail functions were sent via the Bell Nexxia SMTP address. However, all of the e-mailing is all sent via Google Mail (aka gmail). I want to know how can we send all of our scanned documents from the Xerox machine through Gmail. Many clients at my workplace use either the web browser to send/receive e-mails or the Microsoft Outlook program for scheduling appointments and e-mailing as well.

I also wonder to your other folks who faced the similar or the same issues as mine as I currently speak. Any suggestions? Any piece of software that is needed to be installed?
where do I download that driver from? Do I have to install it on my copier or on the machines themselves?

You can go to start run and type in msconfig and then go to startup and maybe disbale it from there. You can also check ur control panel and ry to remove the fax from there if it is an actual program…Hope this works…good luck!

This is just a guess. Sounds like you have an HP all in one printer 1350. If so my advice is uninstall it and junk it and get the HP3100. I am not saying anything my HP tech support guy wouldn’t agree with. I have been buying HP printers since 1992 and I am still buying them. But my 1350 was a lemon. Every single time reboot had to watch that configure fax thing and couldn’t stop it till removed printer.

Answer by marty.krist
If you do not have a fax machine, go to the control panel, remove hardware, and delete any listed fax machines. You can also go through configuration, then disable the device.

Answer by Timothy J
you may have your fax turned on and not know it, check to see if it is, then just turn it off, the next time XP boots, it will not try to configure fax b/c it is not reading the program. if that don’t help click on start, then printers and faxes, follow directions from there.

I have the same problem with a Hewlitt-Packard Pavilion 7955 computer and an HP 1510 All-In-One printer/scanner. I have contacted Hewlitt- Packard, and they just keep suggesting I re-install the disc programs. Nothing seems to help except clicking on Cancel about 3 times in a row when I try to use my printer.

I’ve used the Windows Fax over my VOIP and had no problems, so if that’s the ‘software’ end of the question, then I vote Softie.
