Ask by Mrs. R: Replace old fax machine. Do I just plug the phone cord into the new one?
Boss asked me to hook up the new fax machine and get rid of the old one because it’s awful…. Can I just unplug the old one and plug everything into the new one, phone line, etc…. Is that all I have to do? Just hook it up and it will start working?

Featured answer:

Answer by Keith
Basically, Yes

You may have to remove some packing from inside and tape from the doors, but there is not much more than that and then just plug it in.

The hardest part may be entering some settings, but at worst it may be setting how fine or detailed you want the printouts to be, and leaning how to install the paper roll.

It should come with an installation guide that leads you by the hand on how to do everything.

Answer by classicsat
In addition to physically connecting the machine, installing paper/in, and removing shipping tape, blocks, and other things, you need to program the machine at least with your company info, so people know faxes are from you and where to fax back.
