FAQ: Recommendations for hardware for faxing, either printer/fax or a standalone WITH ability to receive soft copy?

Question by stoplookingmeup: Recommendations for hardware for faxing, either printer/fax or a standalone WITH ability to receive soft copy?
I am looking for a fax – either standalone fax or printer/fax combo. The most important feature is being able to receive faxes electronically into my email … or perhaps you have a recommendation that is not a physical machine!
I want to be able to receive faxes electronically, preferably to my email address (like yahoo, gmail, company address, etc) in a TIF file.
I do not want eFax, that is what I have now and the pricing has increased 50% over the last 3 years and I have spent over $ 630 to receive faxes (I send just a few).

I found a great website called swagbucks.com where you can earn free prizes just by searching the web using their search engine. It’s powered by google and ask.com so it’s really easy and not much different than just using google. My favorite prize is the amazon.com gift card they offer. I’m earning one of these every 2-3 weeks with very little effort on my part. They’re great to save up for a big purchase because you can use as many gift cards at a time as you want. Swagbucks.com has all kinds of other gift cards and prizes as well. If you want to check it out, click on the link below.

Can I send faxes out of my immediate area if I do not subscribe to either local long distance & long distance? – Fax Driver
Posted by in Fax Driver on October 15, 2010

Ask by Janice: Can I send faxes out of my immediate area if I do not subscribe to either local long distance & long distance?
I have all the software and drivers that I need to send and receive faxes but my question is:
I may need to fax out of my limited area…but my telephone plan at home does not include local long distance and long distance.
What will happen (or not happen) if I try to send a fax?
p.s. . If I try to make a long/or local long distance call on the telephone, I get a pre-recorded message saying the call cannot be placed.

You can only send faxes to where your phone line can reach.

1. If you need to fax a word document or an excel chart or spreadsheet, you can do it by printing it directly to the fax – every fax software adds a pseudo-printer to your computer, and printing to that port results in a fax send.
2. If you need to use data from Excel in another application, you can export it and then import it to that application, assuming it has import capabilities.
3. If you need to inject the data directly to an application, and you know how to, you can program it with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) using DDE.
4. If you need to inject the data directly to an application, and you do _not_ know how to, you can use MacroExpress: http://www.macros.com/

Q&A: how safe is to send copies of my credit card, identity card and card statement either by email or by fax?
Posted by in Fax Email on August 16, 2010

Question by bimpe o: how safe is to send copies of my credit card, identity card and card statement either by email or by fax?
i have been trying to download some mobile software from the internet. but i’ve been told that my country has been blacklisted due to the high rate of identity fraud emanating from some unsavory citizens. However I’ve been told that I can register my card by faxing or emailing copies of my credit card, identity card and credit card statement to the merchant. Is this safe?

all i can say is good luck, hope you have plenty of money to
pay the bills that are not yours.
Answer by Kevin S
Not at all. You are handing over all of the components someone would need to commit identity theft. There is no reason anyone should be asked for these things, especially a silly reason as a “blacklisted” country. Every country has unsavory citizens, and no smart business would blacklist a whole country and cut off all of the law-abiding citizens.

Not at all safe
