Do you mean components? Never heard of a computer exponent.

Case would not be a component because it does not attach to nor is it perated by the computer. It would be an accessory.

Light Pen
Tablet
Card Reader
Web cam (different then digital camera)
oh….
you missed the Godzilla USB toothbrush that they were selling a few years back (No, I am not kidding….)

Answer by Dick
Well you have a fairly complete list but here are a couple I thought of.

External Hard Drive
External CD/DVD Burner

Hope this helps!

Answer by Keith S
You already have an extensive list. I would add other external devices as the need arises for them and there are many.
I think you should have an external hard drive to copy the multigigs of music and other personal date you have so you can restore that data in the event of losing you main hard drive or having to reload your operating system.

I have had a problem with my external hard drive making photo’s unreadable. Can I get them back?

Ask by tommyboy: I have had a problem with my external hard drive making photo’s unreadable. Can I get them back?
I emailed a couple of the corupted files that couldn’t preview in fax viewer to someone at the company who made the hard drive. They somehow opened the image in a photoshop like program, (corel I belive), and send them back… great… but I have around 100 photos to do so i downloaded a trial version of corel photoshop and it wouldnt work for me… I was wondering if anyone might know a way of doing this online through a site or a type of photoshop that might work, and be able to interpret the files once again so that they can be re-saved? Many thanks for your help!

maybe you can try downloading Smart Data Recovery

Answer by Pelucid
Right click on the imge and see what the extension is (i.e jpg, gif) and go to www.download.com and download a free image editing program. When looking for this program type in the keywords “file type here” to jpg editor. You should fine something.

How can I make windows picture & fax viewer (vista) show pictures on my external display?

By Santa Claus: How can I make windows picture & fax viewer (vista) show pictures on my external display?
Windows stupid fvcking vista always wants to do the slideshows on the primary display, even when initiated from the secondary display. Well we just got vista and I’m trying to give a presentation here, how do I make it show the img files on the secondary display?
sorry I meant windows photo gallery… anything?

Answer:

Answer by SPACEGUY
Good luck with the photo gallery, Mine has stopped working all together twice and each tiome i had to recover my system to make it work again, it is one of vistas flaws,,

Answer by Helping Since 1969
either “drag” the viewer to the other display or set the secondary display as the default or use the presentation settings to use the secondary display for full screen applications…..this can be done either through the settings for presentation or video settings with the Nvidia desktop manager or the display settings built into Vista.

It really isn’t a unique thing to Vista….this is a cross platform adjustment you have to make. Although the program is being accessed from the secondary display, the settings are such as to use the default display.

Can you load the drivers/software for peripherals to an external hard drive and be able to use them?

Ask by Awesome Bill: Can you load the drivers/software for peripherals to an external hard drive and be able to use them?
By peripherals I mean an all-in-one printer/fax/scanner, digital camera, mouse, battery backup, PC games, security suite, etc.

I’m wondering if I can move some things off the PC hard drive and put it on the external one without issues. Can it be done?

Answer by dadimwit
Drivers for things like printers, mouse, camera etc pretty much need to stay where they are. Windows will expect then to be in a certain place and won’t be able to find them if you move them. You might be able to move some things but it would require modifying the registry to tell Windows where to look.
Program software is another story. A lot of software gives you the opportunity to change the installation location when you do an install. So you could uninstall some of your programs and reinstall and specify another hard drive.

WHAT DO I DO” The Phone line works fine. in Yahoo! Answers

Answer by justme
Make sure your modem is configured correctly. You also need a phone/fax program like Supervoice or BVRP Phone Tools. If you have a program it may need configuring to recognise the modem

Answer by Ichigo
Try to see if u can get the internal one to work.. u most likely have to enable it first in ur bios settings if it is integrated with ur pc. It could be a simple thing as ur modem is DEAD>. U may also wanna hook that external one to another pc see if u can get it working that way as well.. to see if it’s ur pc or modem itself that really an issue. Good luck!

if you can’t access windows xp fax service, there are fax services online.

Answer by J M
you must have a fax modem for your PC otherwise no it wont work. UNLESS you use something like EFAX

Answer by David D
Not exactly, you need a regular analogue modem to send normal phone signals.

There are third party services that will send a fax on your behalf if you send them the data. e.g. http://home.efax.com/s/r/uk_home?CMP=OTC-uk

Answer by leelovekero
The solution I used was something like www.efax.com, it allows you to fax by email and such. Even gives you your own number to be faxed too.

Answer by Duke
Use efax if you want your own fax number and what not. It isn’t free but reasonable if I remember correctly.
