Hi Ashley B,
I definitely understand your position! I think the best way to save money in these times is by switching over to online faxing.
Online faxing has several benefits such as:
- Green Solution. Save a Tree! By using online faxing you use less paper, water and help save the planet
- Save Money. Stop wasting money on buying paper, ink or repairs. Also did you know that the fax machine is the most electricity consuming office machine? Online faxing costs as little as to bucks per month!
- Save Time. Forget about paperjams or busy tones, online faxing works 24/7 headache free.
These are just some of the benefits I can think of from the top of my head. Also, when you sign up with any of the major online fax services they give you a Free local or toll free number and many other features.
There is no complicated installation or cables. All you need is a computer with internet, and if you know how to send an email then you know how to fax online!
I made the switch last year, I use online faxing and VOIP phone service from RingCentral and it saves me hundreds each month.
I signed up through this site: http://onlinefaxfree.net/ it reviews the best online faxing services and you can also take advantage of their FREE 30 day trials so you can test run their service and then decide whether you like it or not.
Hope this information helps!

Forget getting a fax line, this is expensive and out-dated. I highly recommend looking into online faxing:

Question by ThinkTink: Do you need an extra line for a fax machine??

You don’t *need* it, but you won’t be able to use the phone for voice while sending/receiving a fax.
Answer by wires
As the other answer says, you don’t ‘need’ another line. There are devices that allow you to share your voice line with a fax machine. The fax machine may also be able to do this.
It depends on how much you use the line for voice and expect to use it for faxing. While your line is in use for one it can’t be used to the other. If you expect to send or receive a lot of faxes or have a lot of voice calls or voice calls that are lengthy a second line may save you a lot of stress.

I think u can use the same number
there are fax machines that have an option on which you can choose for the machine to pick up as a fax if u dont answer the phone after a certain amount of rings
Answer by Dillpickle
That all depends on where you live. At&t has different rates and promotions in different places. You best bet is to call them and ask!

Yes, you will require a dedicated phone line to send and receive faxes. if you go for an Internet fax service no telephone line required and no cost for the calls to send a fax. Typically these savings will pay for using an online fax service. Extra bonus – no need to buy a fax machine.
Answer by Cableguy
I use my standard line as I only receive a few faxes a month so i tell people if they need to send call first so I can unplug the answer machine and then just do not answer the incoming call and to send just make sure no one is on the line when you try to send out
Answer by classicsat
On your normal line, no. As far as the phone company is concerned, it is another telephone to them, and makes normal phone calls.
Some VOIP providers may have an extra fee to provide QOS so a fax machine can work.

How do you get rid of an extra page in office software?

Ask by splatback2: How do you get rid of an extra page in office software?
I typed up a document that initially ran 2 pages. When I edited it I only needed one page but it still comes up as 2 pages, the second blank and does the same when I fax it, wasting paper. How do I get rid of the blank page. I have open office but it happened in microsoft office first.
Good Answer:
Answer by Fox
Click on the extra page (anywhere on that page), then just keeping hitting the DELETE button until it becomes only one page. Hope that works
Answer by twest_dgo
Go down to the 2nd page and put your cursor there. The just backspace out until you are on page 1. Should work. Otherwise, look at your page view and delete the page break.
Good luck!

FAQ: If I get a fax machine, what is the extra monthly cost? – Fax Machine

By Dom: If I get a fax machine, what is the extra monthly cost?
I am thinking about getting a HP 4 in 1 machine with the ability to fax documents. I won’t be using it too much but it would be beneficial to have one.
So what is the extra monthly cost? Do I need a seperate phone line for the fax?
Best answer:
Answer by Tim
You just need to plug it into a phone line. You can either share a line or have a dedicated line just for the fax.
If you use and existing line, you just pay for the phone call
Answer by Real Estate Guy
Besides the cost of the machine and any long distance charges, there isn’t any cost.
If you are going to be receiving a lot of faxes, a 2nd line is nice.
The machine has a switch that allows you to keep it on all the time. When it hears the tone, it will receive the fax. Otherwise, income voice calls work the same as usual.
I have a fax machine (4 in 1). When I want to fax something that I have on the computer, I don’t need to print it out and then fax it; I can fax it directly from the computer. Your computer can also receive faxes that you can then print out.
Another nice feature of the 4 in 1 is the scan feature. You can scan stuff into the computer and then save it on the computer or send it as an attachment. I use adobe to create PDF’s.
Make sure your 4 in 1 has a sheet feeder AND a flat bed scanner. This way you can fax or scan multi documents and also scan books, articles etc on the flat bed.
I have HP and like it. Plus it uses less ink. Lexmark is ok, but burns ink.
Answer by countess almasy
Get eFax (look it up on the internet). No need for a machine (unless you need to scan rather than send attachments. It’s less than a month.
