I’m going to resign on Monday after 12 years. How do I do it? Do I call my boss or fax her the letter? – Fax Email

fax email

Ask by Janessa: I’m going to resign on Monday after 12 years. How do I do it? Do I call my boss or fax her the letter?
Both? What about email? Should I email the letter? Should I just call her? I have the letter ready. It’s going to be awkward. She knows I don’t like her and she’s going to think I’m doing this to be spiteful, but I’m not. I swear!

Good Answer:

Answer by Nic
Two weeks notice is the standard.

Answer by shop2early
Yes, two weeks notice. Nothing short of that.

Answer by Jason J
However you want. You do not owe anybody anything if they haven’t treated you right.

Answer by steffers27
Tell your boss personally, you want to leave a good impression when you leave. Tell her and you can also give her a copy of the letter. Tell her you are sorry you are leaving, but ……… whatever reason. Even if you don’t like her, try to do the right thing. What if by some chance you need her as a reference!!!

Answer by j81s79j06
First a phone call, followed by the letter. Ask her which would be the better option for her, email or fax. Good luck.

Going mad with PC fax issues…?

fax internet

By CoeurDeLion: Going mad with PC fax issues…?
I tried a free trial of online faxing. None of them went through and I had to argue to get the “contract” cancelled. I bought a fax modem in PCI card format, only to discover it was obsolete (it uses old PCI technology) and my state of the art HP PC already has an “internal modem”… very nice, but they didn’t equip it with a telephone socket, did they! It runs off a cable internet connection, and we pay already for a separate land line for our phone. Does that mean I am simply going to have to buy a standalone fax machine, wasting paper, money and time because people haven’t sufficiently moved into this century to start using email? I know faxes are supposedly “secure” but the GSM technology was supposed to be too! Or do I literally have to connect my 21st century computer to two separate networks, just to be able to send a fax from it? Please help, I am feeling underwhelmed with the idiocy of the situation, and looking forward to blowing up a certain Future Shop assistant tomorrow!
I didn’t perhaps clarify enough: My PC does not have a telephone (RJ 11) connector at all, so I cannot connect it directly to the phone line. My router and separate broadband modem use the cable internet, so are not equipped with anything to communicate with regular telephone line.

The PCI card which I bought was very affordable, but obsolete, as my computer has the PCI-express buses only and the hardware is not compatible with Windows 7 (no drivers available). I guess I should give up trying to be a cheapskate and go invest in a fax machine, but it really sucks to be spending money on a limited use, high consuming gadget which is rapidly becoming a dinosaur!

I checked out my computer manufacturer’s website, they do sell a USB modem… which cannot be connected at the same time as the regular broadband modem, and which functions as a dialup modem full time! Why is this niche so poorly filled? Is Canada the last country on the planet to get rid of stone age technology?

I’m sorry to hear that you have problems with SENDING messages. That should be really easy.

If you have Windows 7 you already have a good fax-software in your computer. All you need is to connect the telephone plug on your computer to any telephone jack. You computer card probably has two plugs, then put the incoming telephone cord into one, and connect the telephone to the other.

If you have a PC and no telephone modem, buy one at any store for $ 14 – $ 24. Most laptops come with a modem built in.

The program is called “Windows fax and scan”.

To receive a fax, you have two choices.

Answer manually, once you have lifted the receiver and hear the beep.

or

Leave the software to answer automatically. Not good, because ALL callers will get the fax-beep.

The same software is in Windows FX, go looking for it under Windows in “All programs” .

To send is easy. You can also add attachments easily.

Is CA Going to Give Drivers Licenses to Illegal Aliens? – Fax Driver

fax driver

Question by Shane: Is CA Going to Give Drivers Licenses to Illegal Aliens?
The California legislature has passed SB 60, which will give illegals licenses. The bill now goes to the Governor’s desk to be signed.
If the Governor signs this bill, California will become the first state in America to pass a law in 2008 establishing a benefit for illegal aliens. It will also become the first example reversing the trend of cutting licenses off from illegal aliens. You can make a comment to the Governor, pro or con.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814
Phone: 916-445-2841
Fax: 916-558-3160
Email at: http://gov.ca.gov/interact#contact

Giving any benefit to illegal aliens only encourages more law breaking and makes it easier for them to remain here. A driver’s license is a particularly powerful benefit to illegal aliens, some of whom are criminals. State, federal, and local govts should do all that they can to rid our country of these trespassers.

Selected answer:

Answer by Sweetharttt
Illinois give drivers licenses to illegal aliens now.

Answer by MR MOM USMC RETIRED
they already do,, last year they gave a commercial license to an illegal and he killed a family with his big rig in las vegas,, yep nice laws

Answer by Skovi
It’s better to give them licenses and have control of their whereabouts than having them drive without one, then killing some one, running away, and never be able to find them.

I’m going to send fax. How can I do it?

fax internet

Question by Santiago: I’m going to send fax. How can I do it?
I have no fax machine.
I connect to internet via modem.
How can I send fax?

Good Answer:

Answer by Robin G
Your computer might have software that allows you to send a “fax” either by using your scanner or by just sending a text file. You can also use a fax machine at your local postal store or grocer.

Answer by Ford Fanatic
I think you need a fax machine.

Answer by Rudini
Please do not go to Libby’s link above. it is full of malware. AVOID IT.

If you have Windows XP. It should have built in software to send faxes using your existing modem.

While sending a fax, you DO NOT want to be connected to the internet using the same modem!

See link below…

Answer by Dok
with a fax machine!!!

Answer by Keith B
As s’body said: if you have XP, 98 or 2k it has a fax. First you need to set it up (Help FAX) Then when you write a letter you click on “print” and choose FAX. If you have a scanned document on your comp then you’ll need to paste it into a document.

FAQ: I am going to rent an apartment in another country? – Fax Online

By Scott and Friends: I am going to rent an apartment in another country?
without ever going there, is it possible to handle all transactions online and through faxing?
See, I am going to start an online business with a base in the apartment and I have to know what to expect when actually renting the property.
I have to know if, since my business is wholly based online and my initial office will be in the apartment, do I have to register it?
to be more specific, I want to stay here in America, hire employees who will work in the apartment while just renting it.

Featured answer:

Answer by bostonianinmo
Contact an attorney and estate agent in the country where you will be working.

Answer by HiddenBarb
Renting a property from an agency that handles rental property for the owners would work. They will have all the necessary equipment, computers, fax machines, etc. whereas an individual might not.

Operating a business requires a business license. If you are running your US based and licensed business from another country and all your transactions take place in the US… you are just taking care of your business while “away”. If your business has anything to do with your being in another country and if you are dealing in any type of merchandise that passes through your hands … well that’s a business being operated in that country.

Also, if you have merchandise on the premises; have UPS picking up and/or delivering to your residence; or have customers visiting; be careful of the zoning and/or property restrictions that would prohibit those actions.

Answer by kemperk
old expression applies here; because you can does not mean you should.

I would NEVER ever have a biz
in another nation without an agent
running it either as an employee or
partner with me.

Q&A: Do you plan to bring birth certificate along when going to AZ?

Question by pxn11: Do you plan to bring birth certificate along when going to AZ?
I think better be safe than sorry because they probably don’t accept fax, email scan and someone have to break down your door and ovenight it to you. By that time a beer bottle would fit through your ass easily.

Good Answer:

Answer by scott b
I didn’t have any reason to go to Arizona before, and now I have all the more reason NOT to go.

Answer by LyssQ
Actually, I think a state or federally issued ID will suffice. You know, driver’s license, passport… the same things you need to buy cigarettes or booze… Or drive, or rent an apartment, or enroll in school, or pay with a credit card…

Answer by Chad
If you are not dark skinned or don’t have a good tan, don’t worry about it. Mexicans are the main target.

Answer by msdarkness
this whole arizona thing is being blown out of proportion, all those people who are exaggerating are those who are illegal or are related to someone who is here illegally.

Answer by chris w
All that’s needed is your drivers license, state id, green card or passport. If you are a legal citizen, by law you already have to be carrying these legal documents. The new Arizona law did not change or add to that. What the law states now is illegal entry into the USA is a state crime as well as a federal crime and gives the mandate to local officers to request these items as proof of citizenship in the event you are pulled over for any other crime or offense you may have committed. They will not be specifically looking for illegals only in that it’s part of an existing investigation of another suspicious activity. So relax get over it and enjoy a new safer Arizona.

How do I stop Yahoo web page .tif, .gif, and other items from going into my windows picture and fax viewer? – Fax Internet

Question by Dave and Judy L: How do I stop Yahoo web page .tif, .gif, and other items from going into my windows picture and fax viewer?
I have windows xp pro and Internet Explorer ver. 6, When I download or open a picture that is attached to an e-mail many of the yahoo web page icons or photo items around the page are installed or downloaded into my windows picture viewer. How can I stop this?

Best answer:

Answer by Elf 2K7
The photos are not being downloaded to Windows Picture Viewer. Windows Picture Viewer is the software selected as your default for opening these items. To change the default, right click on a picture file and select ‘properties’. On the General Tab, next to ‘open with’ there is a ‘Change’ button. Click it to change the default program you would like to use for those files. You may need to do this for each type file; gif, jpg etc.

Answer by The Thinker
I had the same problems with WinXP Pro and SP2, the supplied version of the fax program that comes with WinXP would not install, kept hunting for files, ended up installing WinFax, heaps more features, and having used the Windows version of Fax on a different computer, much easier to use WinFax.
Firstly download SP2, from:

http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html

Save onto your desktop

Close the error message window, if needed.

Click Start , and click Run .

In the Run dialog box, type the command esentutl /p %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb and click OK .

A message warning about the danger of running the repair command is displayed. Click OK to acknowledge and clear the message.

When the repair is complete, shutdown and restart the PC.

Follow the software manufacturer’s instructions to perform the installation process for the fax software.

When windows asks you to install the first file, browse to your downloaded sp2\i386 folder & click ok.

You will notice that windows prompts you again to install a second file, the second file needs to be installed from the original xp with sp2 cd, I386 folder again.
