I had applied to this company via Internet I faxed in my resume, as the site requested.
& today I got the interview, wasnt i supposed to fill out an application or do some companies not use them. ???
Is this a bad sign if i wasen’t asked to fill one out. ??

Interviewed by superviser & manager for about 45 min.

Some companies don’t use them, they just go by the resume. If one was required, I’m sure they would have asked you to complete one while you were there.

If you fill out a application via the Internet you don’t have to fill another one.Every company is different so don’t worry.

they called you for interview,because they have seen you application. when you send them a thank giving mail,it sounds stupid.They had interview for 45 mint us.They are not stupid so Waite for a call.Again I wish you good luck.

Sometimes they won’t ask you to fill one out until you are already hired. If they feel that they have all the info they need in a resume to make a hiring decision, and don’t require an application, then there’s no point until you’re hired. The reason is because the app will go into your file and it is a LEGAL document. That’s why you always hear so much about not falsifying your app.
Other times, if they ask you to fill one out, it may not mean anything. Often times this happens because the company requires an application and then they just want to be consistent. Anyway, don’t sweat it. You probably did just fine!

I have an interview on Monday as a receptionist.What should I wear,how should I do my hair?I don’t ahve much experience but I went to medical school and i did some front office so I know how to answer phones,basic computer skills,filing emailing faxing.They said no experience was necessary and that they were willing to train me but I am terrified! I haven’t had a receptionist interview before.Please help,ONLY serious ppl answer please.What should I say whay they interview me?

Good basic, dark slacks, close toed shoes, a nice button down blouse. Think of the place you are interviewing and the clients they get – you are representing the company and are the first face these people will see, reflect that in your dress. Keep the hair and makeup basic, pulled back is always safe or if you have a tidy style, wear it but do not make it poofy.

i’ve been faxing, emailing for jobs for weeks now, my resume was checked already, i’m going to school for AA degree, bur no one is calling me up. I don’t know what’s the problem. I’m on leave right now due to pregnancy, and i need to get hired by May 1st because I do not want to do childcare/babysitting anymore for preschool. Do they check your background before they call you?

They sometimes check after the interview also. It is hard to say.

usually they will do the check after the interview or second interview if it went well.
Perhaps get a friend to read over one of your cover / application letters and offer some constructive criticism ??

If your resume was checked, then it is likely that some managers did go through a more detailed screening process. It i not unusual for hiring staff to check social networking websites (Facebook, MySpace) to determine someone’s character.
In some cases, someone in the business knows someone from your previous job and could give an informal reference.
Also, many jobs are going up in smoke because many business are suffering from the recession. Perhaps you are sending a resume that is not appealing to employers
Keep in mind that you are not the only person applying for these positions and it could be that there are more experienced candidates seeking the positions that you applied for.

so i had a second job interview on monday. Everything went well i think and she said she would have to call my references and also made me sigh something to do a police check. she also told me i would have to fax her a drivers abstract witch i did. She told me to give her a call on Wed to see how everything was going. When i called her she told me she received my drivers abstract and that she has been real busy and she would be callin my work references on Thursday. It is now friday at what point should i assume i dint get the job and also at what point do you think i should give her a call back to do a fallow up at. thank for the help.

I would wait until Monday of next week to call. She said she would start them on Thursday and often they can’t get your references on the phone right away, so she might be waiting for them to get back to her. If you wait and call she’ll appreciate you following up, just don’t be stalkerish about it. Good luck!

Call back on Monday. She may also be waiting on the background check from the police. If she puts you off again, call again Friday, and if no progress has been made, assume you didn’t get it.

i have an interview today and i need to bring a 5 year abstrace and proof of insurance.
i had the abstrace faxed to them and in a few hours i have my interview and i will need proof of insurance…do you have an idea of what type of insurance?
i figured i would take my medical insurance and my drivers insurance with me.
the job i am being interviewed for is a deliverly driver for cocacola.
should i take a resume with me?

I would think you need to bring your car insurance. They probably have found that an easy way to make sure that the driver is insurable without having to pay to check.

if its a driving job or at times you will be using a vehicel then thats normal to ask you for proof of insurance but if you are using there vehicle they need insurance not you so becareful they aren’t trying to make you get insurance for them theres alot of crooked people out there beware.
