How do you get a divorce from someone who has left the country? – Fax Email

By JR G: How do you get a divorce from someone who has left the country?
My wife and I agreed to get a divorce, but before I could start the paperwork she left the country. The only contact that I have with her is via email, and she is unwilling to give me a fax number. Also, I am unsure as to when she might return to the US (if ever).

just went through this same problem during 2008. what my lawyer did was contact the embassy of the country where the spouse is. they will let you know of the procedures to serve the papers. if they are uncooperative and the lawyer will then bring a motion before the court to allow the papers to be served in an alternative means. in my case the papers were published in the newspapers of the country that my ex is in and they also served him by email. then your wife will have 30 days to respond to the court in writing. if she has not by then you can ask for a default hearing. if this is granted then she is given an additional 10 days at which point a default hearing is set up. any other questions feel free to email me.

Just go to your district court office and file it. As long as you can prove that you served her with the papers, you can most likely get it granted unless there is real estate or children involved.

Nothing prevents divorce proceedings when one of the spouses is abroad. One thing does not have anything to do with the other. But you better visit a lawyer and instead of trying to get legal advice for free, pay. The lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade. That is what we sell. We do not give legal advice for free since we did not become lawyers for free. Besides, our professional cannons of ethics do no allow us to give legal advice unless there a attorney-client relationship precedes such counseling. Lawyers do not give public legal advice. We are subject to a Code of Professional Ethics. And we could also become personally liable for professional malpractice. Go get a lawyer. Pay for his/her services. Adian.

If you can prove you cannot reach her to serve papers, they can do a service by publication in her area. If you don’t know where she is, they can do a publication in her hometown, last known address, etc. Basically if you’ve exhausted your resources and it comes to the hearing, and she’s been provided notice and not shown up, you can move for judgement by default because the other party never showed up to defend. You may also have an abandonment ground in your state, but that’s a “fault” divorce and harder to get default than no-fault (irreconcilable differences). It can also be harder to get a default judgement if there’s a lot of property or other issues to work out. Check your state’s civil procedure and divorce chapters in the statutes, and pay attention to articles on service and default. Good luck :-)

I am wanting to sell a death benefit left to me by my mother. Who can I talk to about this? – Fax Internet

fax internet

Question by trish j: I am wanting to sell a death benefit left to me by my mother. Who can I talk to about this?
I’ve talked to places I found on the Internet but they all said they didn’t buy this kind of benefit. How can I find the places that do? It’s from the state of IN. It comes from PERF. I called them about faxing me the policy and PERF said there is no policy, that it is just a benefit I receive until I die.

Talk to PERF first. You may not be able to sell this benefit. If they say you can sell it, then you can go to the effort of locating a buyer.

FAQ: 1999 Nissan Frontier – Clonk and Strange Noise Front Left?

Ask by Andres M: 1999 Nissan Frontier – Clonk and Strange Noise Front Left?
I have a 1999 4WD Nissan Frontier w/ 108K on the odometer – just recently I started to hear what sounded like a medium pitched Wa-Wa-Wa sound almost like a slow weed wacker coming from the driver side front tire area. Prior to all of that I would get a rattle sound like little bb’s in a tin can from time to time when accelerating.

That sound is usually ended with a Clonk or Thump, then the truck seems ok. I have put her in neutral and engaged then disengaged the 4WD – that seems to help.

The transmission shifts smoothly other than that hiccup.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas, oh and I’ve only had the truck for about 4K. The car fax said there was some accident involving the front side – yet the under carriage looks clean.

Any ideas? …and thank you!

Inkjet ink dries quite quickly and the jets get plugged in the cartridge (that’s why I went to using laser exclusively; it’s cheaper in the long run). Try using a fiber free cloth (don’t use a cotton ball!) and alcohol to clean the “dots” on the face of the cartridge. Also under tools in your printer software run the head cleaning program. If this doesn’t work, get new cartridges or better yet spend the buck and by a laser. I doubt if your problem is the resolution setting but just in case make sure that it is set to “default” in your printer software; this should be 300dpi.

More than likely they are going to require you to give them the originals and not copies of the originals. You’ll need to have them sent through the mail to your grandma’s
