How can I get a lien release from a company that no longer exists?

Question by JOHN SCHOEN: How can I get a lien release from a company that no longer exists?
GE Credit Corp was absorbed by GE Financial who no longer handles auto loans. After over 50 phone calls, 20+ faxes, and several emails, nobody knows anything about auto liens. I have been fighting this battle for over 6 months. It is obvious that this is a dead end. What other option do I have?

If you paid off the loan, try contacting the 3 credit card reporting companies and see if they can report it as paid off now.

hmmm. i smell a class action lawsuit.
but in the short term, AFAIK you just need a signature on a “satisfaction of lien” document, maybe notarization of same.
check state DMV website for a template.

You can go to court and try to get a judge to release the lien.
Unfortunately, when a company goes bankrupt like that, the lein on your auto becomes an asset that technically belongs to one of their creditors. It’s probably going to cost you more to hire the lawyer to get the lein released, than the car is worth. If it were me, I’d just drive the car forever, into the ground, until it has to be junked.

Contact and attorney for a free consultation re: the laws regarding liens.
If you’re able to provide proof of your attempts to get this resolved, a suit based on due diligence will get you heard by the court and the lien likely ordered as null.
Good luck!

GE Financial also absorbed all asset and debts of GE Credit Corp. So just because they got taken over does not mean that all the loans they gave out are now now longer payable. If you have proof you met the requirements to have the lien removed then that can be sent to the credit reporting agency’s. The lien though will still stay on your credit report as a prior action. Contact GE Financial and see if they have your loan or if they are using another division within the company to handle those loans from GE Credit Corp. I an just assuming the lien was for lack of payment or moneys owed on the loan itself.

Talk to the manager of computer store that you purchased the computer from.
Answer by TxVarmit
reinstall the disk. If that doesn’t work, go to http:.//www.hp.com and choose drivers and software download and enter in your model name. hp700 is too generic to locate a reasonable driver.

Unless you have eFax, you need a fax machine connected to a phone line to receive a fax
Answer by Carl N
I get them all the time on my electronic fax line. It’s from MaxEmail and it cost me about a year. http://www.maxemail.com/
You can also search the internet for fax to email solutions. Since I seldom send faxes using this servce (I’m still working on my credit from 5 years ago), it’s a perfect choice to get the regular and “junk” faxes. It’s a long distance number (815 area code for the “Lite” version), but nowadays, nobody seems to notice. My outbound faxes that I have to send are sent from my landline with the electronic ID.

Yes
You can send and receive faxes from your computer using internet fax services. All you need is a computer and internet connection, no gadgets or hardware or land line and there are no setup fees. This has been a great option personally for me and saves you tons of money so I highly recommend it!

I need a fax software program for my home PC. Symantec no longer supports WinFax Pro 10.xx.? – Fax Software

By Trini_in_FL: I need a fax software program for my home PC. Symantec no longer supports WinFax Pro 10.xx.?
Hi All,
I need a fax program for use on my home PC. I do NOT need one for a company wide network, like RightFax. I just need to find one that works on a stand alone home PC that uses a cable modem high speed connection to the Internet. I just found out that Symantec has officially dropped all support for WinFax Pro 10.x & 9x. See link: http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/support/productdetail/discontinued.jsp?pid=winfax
So now I need another home based faxing program. Does anyone know of a really good, versatile home faxing software that will work with a cable modem Internet connection rather than a standard modem connection utilizing a land line? I would appreciate any help in this matter. I thank you all in advance for your assistance.
Sincerely,
In Need of Fax Software.

I would recommend Efax. They’re probably the best fax software out there.
