Posted by in Fax Online on September 28, 2011
Ask by Lynnea: What does OD: -3.25 and OS: -3.50 -.050 x 170 mean for prescription glasses?
I got my optometrist to fax my prescription glasses information for me so I can order some glasses online but I do understand what any of it means really. The only information it has is:
OD: -3.25
OS: -3.50 -0.50 x 170
That is exactly how it is written. Some help would be great, please and thank you.

OD is the right eye…it is – 3.25 SPHERE…no CYL or AXIS , because you gave no astigmatism in that eye, just nearsighted.
OS is left…- 3.50 SPHERE combined with – 0.50 Cylinder at an axis of 170
You have a small amount of astigmatism in that eye ( – 0.50 ) and it is placed on a meridian of 170 degrees in your lens.
Just write out the numbers the same way on the order form.
You will also have to know your PD ( pupillary distance) to order glasses. It may or may not be on your prescription.

If you’re going to buy glasses online, I’d recommend www.replacementlensexpress.com. The site gives you a basic idea of what they have to offer and their prices, but if you want anything special, you should e-mail them (info@replacementlensexpress.com) and speak with an optician, becuase they really do some unique things.

By thenefarioussaint: I found this on a case file for a friend online. What does it mean?
He is trying to find out whether or not the warrant is still out for his arrest since his lawyer did all of this by phone/fax and plead not guilty without actually having to show up in front of the judge.
05/05/2008 – CASE WAS FILED WITH COURT
WARRANT WAS ISSUED FOR DEFENDANT FOR COMPLAINT BOND: $ 2,500 RECOG WARRANT FEE $ 50.00
05/08/2008 – JURY DEMAND FILED BY ATTORNEY
TIME WAIVER, NOTICE OF APPEARANCE & DEMAND FOR DISCOVERY FILED BY ATTY
05/09/2008 – DEFENDANT PLEAD NOT GUILTY
HEARING-06/10/2008 2:30 PM-SETTLEMENT CONFERENCE, HEARING-06/12/2008 8:00 AM-JURY TRIAL
He can’t reach his lawyer until Monday morning and would rather find out today.

Once a court date is set up you no longet have a warrent. You can see that there is a court date so your friend has no warrent.
Answer by Mary’s Oblate
wait a minute! Your question makes no sense. Your friend has an attorney, who made filings and pleadings. Why doesn’t your friend just call his attorney and ask if there is a warrant for his arrest?

If you aren’t sending a standard company cover page, It sounds like there might be a pre-programmed page that goes along with whatever fax you are sending.

in a fax machine what does it mean when it says there is a built in USB interface for future printing? – Fax Machine

Best answer:
Answer by Chuckc
Some fax machines have the capabilty of printing documents like a dedicated printer would. Normally a pure fax machine has no interface to attach it to a computer, only phone line connections. If yours has a USB connection then you should be able to connect it to a computer and print to it like a printer or possibly receive faxes directly to the computer rather than having the fax machine print a hard copy received fax.

what does try again in black and white result mean in a fax machine report? – Fax Machine

By leidy m: what does try again in black and white result mean in a fax machine report?
Selected answer:
Answer by Macchiato Junkie
It means you tried to fax to someone that doesn’t have a color fax machine. Faxing from your machine in color will cause the fax to come out choppy on their end so your machine is telling you to fax again on the black and white setting.

What does it usually mean (or require) when an employer says to “come in and apply in person”?

Ask by bakerboard2007: What does it usually mean (or require) when an employer says to “come in and apply in person”?
I am going to apply for this one restaraunt job and was wandering what that meant? Just go there and ask for an application?
I mean they have have an online application that I could fax them.
Best answer:
Answer by MissBehavior
They want to see you and speak with you to make sure you are presentable and the type of person they want for a job. If they told you to apply in person, don’t use a fax. It means that you don’t want to follow their rules!
Dress sharp, but don’t over do. No suits, but a nice sports coat and a pair of well ironed slacks should do the trick. Be open, friendly and conversational.
Answer by Andrew B
It usually means that hiring will substantially be based on your appearance. You should bring a resume, a pen and a pencil. Don’t dress any other way but the way you would dress to meet someone’s parents for the first time. Good Luck!
Answer by werepoodle
Yes. You go to their place of business. Instead of asking for an application, why don’t you just ask for the job? Bring your resume with you and be prepared to talk about your experience and why you think you would be able to do a good job for them in that position.
Answer by old lady
It means they want you see what you look like and to see how you interact with people – which makes sense when you are applying for a job in a restaurant. So dress neatly (not flashy as though you were going to a party) and give them your best smile when you hand in your application.

electronic scanning-as in a computer–codes make the right routing
Answer by kkd
think about it in terms using a modem connected to a PC to use the internet, when you want to send something online, the modem modulates the digital signals from the PC in to analogue signal, transmits the data down the phone line in analogue form. The signal is then demodulated back into digital signals that is then viewed, used by the pc at the other end.
Fax works in a similar way, the fax machine at the other end, changes the signal back into the original data.

Posted by in Fax Machine on January 18, 2011

By just me: What does the abbreviation “rx” mean, when talking about a fax machine?
Featured answer:
Answer by J.
RX when talking about a fax machine is a highly technical term I never saw until I went on google.com and searched for it. ” Automatic Redials: Number and Intervals are User Selectable
– Delayed, Memory and Broadcast Transmission
– Auto RX Reduction, TX & RX Fax Forwarding to Email or Another Fax
– 150 Sheet Paper Tray
– Secure Fax Receive via 4 Digit Password and Junk Fax Barrier”
So you see? I don’t speak fax language so I can’t answer except that RX & TX refers to fax machines.
Answer by incandescent
Rx means receive and Tx means transmit.
Answer by Matt G
Tx/RX (Transmit & Receive)
Usually this is referred to when doing ‘Automated’ activity
like Auto Rx (auto-receive)
If you are frustrated with the settings on your fax machine you might check out www.fax-number.net for a fast feature comparison of all the best online fax services.
Let them worry about having the settings correct.
