Which model of a fax machine can work on VOIP phone line?

Question by Vincent: Which model of a fax machine can work on VOIP phone line?
1) Able to adjust transmission speed to 9600 baud or slower;
2) Able to set ECM off
Featured answer:
Answer by rann_georgia
I’ve had an HP 5610 going on 2 1/2 years with no trouble. I looked at the fax settings and under advanced fax setup, it does give the option to turn ECM off. As far as setting the speed of the fax, it gives the option of sending it as fast, medium or slow. Without looking up the manual, I can’t tell you the baud rate of fast, medium or slow.
I believe that all HP fax machines will have these same options.
Whatever machine you choose, be sure that it has multiple page feed in to the scan document and not just a flatbed.
Answer by RM
Hey Vincent,
It actually depends on the VoIP system. For example, fax will work on Phone Power, but will not work with Sunrise VoIP – so, it depends on your VoIP system.
I think Phone Power is one of the only carriers that fully support fax over VoIP -

Where can I get an Owners Manual for a Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower model 917.255916? – Fax Email
Posted by in Fax Email on July 11, 2011

Ask by KARL: Where can I get an Owners Manual for a Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower model 917.255916?
Recently purchased a Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine in nice condition but without an Owner’s Manual. Would like to know about maintenence such as grease points, type of oil and grade of gasoline to use, etc. Sears and other parts suppliers say owner’s manual is no longer available. Does anyone have a manual that they can copy and send me, or FAX, or scan and email, or just send so I can copy and return. Will pay for manual or efforts. Thanks.

Set up your computer to send and receive faxes
Windows Fax and Scan turns your computer into a fax machine—a potentially big money and time saver. Before you can start faxing, your computer must be properly equipped.
What you need
If you’re planning to send and receive faxes at home, you first need to outfit your PC with a fax modem.
A fax modem is a relatively inexpensive piece of add-on hardware that allows your computer to communicate with a fax machine over a standard phone line. The devices are sold at major computer stores and come in two varieties: internal and external.
Internal fax modems plug directly into your computer motherboard, similar to a video or sound card. External fax modems are small devices that connect to the serial or USB ports.
If you’re at work, another option is to see if your employer has a fax server—a dedicated computer equipped with multiple fax modems. Sending a fax using a fax server doesn’t require you to add any special hardware to your PC. You just set up a connection with the fax server and go.
Setting up Windows to fax
Once you’ve picked up a fax modem or found a fax server, you still need to do a little setting up.
To set up a fax modem
Before you begin, make sure that you’ve properly installed your fax modem, and that it’s plugged in to a standard analog phone line.
Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Fax and Scan.
At the bottom of the left pane, click Fax, and then click New Fax on the toolbar to launch the Fax Setup wizard.
Click Connect to a fax modem and follow the instructions.
Note
To set up your computer to send faxes only, click I’ll choose later; I want to create a fax now in the Fax Setup wizard. Keep in mind that by choosing this option, you’ll be able to send faxes but not receive them.
To set up a fax server
Before you begin, make sure your computer is connected to the network and you know the network address of the fax server (for example, \mycompanyfaxserver).
Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Fax and Scan.
To use Fax view, click Fax at the bottom of the left pane.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Fax Accounts.
Click Add, and then, in the Fax Setup wizard, click Connect to a fax server on my network and follow the instructions.
Note
To connect to a fax server, you might need permission from the system administrator.

which thermal fax machine(specifications Plz) is best to make tattoo stencils? Can Anyone suggest some model? – Fax Machine
Posted by in Fax Machine on March 30, 2011
Question by Destin Jolls: which thermal fax machine(specifications Plz) is best to make tattoo stencils? Can Anyone suggest some model?
M little confused weather use a dot matrix printer or a thermal fax machine or a proper tattoo stencil making machine(Its very pricey,ya know)?
Good Answer:
Answer by Stick
The most commonly used are dot-matrix. Compared to thermal fax they are less expensive, but still pricey depending. Modern thermal fax copiers are foreign and cheaply made. The older American made models are built to withstand the tests of time. However, if you burn through a belt or break a light bulb, parts for these are extremely hard to come by because they have been discontinued. I, personally, use a 3M 45FGA “Secretary” thermal fax. With this machine, I can vary the darkness of the stencil as it is being copied. The dot-matrix printers offer one shade of stencil and one shade only. I paid 0 for the thermal fax and I swear it was the best 0 I could have spent. I used a dot-matrix prior to it.
My suggestion to you: Unless you can find and afford one of the older 3M machines, I suggest going with dot-matrix. A couple of things to remember with the dot-matrix are to ensure it is a 24 pin impact printer and the printer has a USB to PC connection available.
Hope this helped.
Answer by Grimlock Gorbash
In total agreement with Stick.
Both Thermal & Dot Matrix have their upsides & downsides.
Dot Matrix you’ll need a computer & scanner. $$
Thermal, you’ll eventually have to replace the belt or bulb. $$
My honest opinion, a 3M is the way to go. Draw up your sketch, slip it in a spirit master and feed it thru the 3M. presto, you’ve got a stencil in 2 seconds.
