Fax Service: I received an Email from the Royal Bank of Scotland, stating I needed to get in touch with them to claim my $?
I Emailed them back and asked what winnings? They told I had won
a lottery that was done through Email address and I needed to make arrangements to claim my funds. They also stated to me that
there was no cost on my part, that all I had to do was fill out the forms
to open up an internet bank account so that once they have received
the forms they require, then they will ask for the clearence of the funds
and transfer them into my internet account. They sent me the forms through Email attachments, and I went ahead and filled them out, and instead of emailing them back signed and with informations, I emailed
the Bank manager whose name is JAMES CRAWFORD and told him
I would fax the forms to him. I went down to fax the forms only to be told that they won’t go through that they needed the international code.
So I came back home and did some research on my own through the
International Fraudwatch/Alert and found nothing. So I went ahead
and googled the address of the Bank and up came EMAIL SCAM.
I went ahead and Emailed Mr. Crawford back and explained my situation and also found that the ADDRESS WAS A SCAM, and the
I was going to report him. I received an Email back today, telling me
that they had used the Banks address to impersonate it, but guaranteed me that this was no scam and gave me another number
to fax my papers. So I went back online and enter the address again
and found a webpage with 40,000 plus address’ for the Royal Bank Of
Scotland in and around the London area.. I also looked up the phone
number and it is valiad. So my question is should I pursue this and
send them the forms? I already reported the Email to the International
Fraudwatch. The forms just asked for my signature to open up the account and my address. I hope some one can shed some light on
this forme. Out of all the Emails I receive about Lotteries and having Won, One is bound to be real don’t you think?

This one i checked out weeks ago it is scam

ignore the email completely. don’t fill out any forms. don’t ring them. delete the email. if you progress they may trick you into draining your current bank account.

That was very unwise thing to do.

This is a scam and it is spam.
In any case, do you really think that the RBS has spare cash to give away at the moment? I think not.

Any email from any bank asking for personal details of any sort is likely to be spam. Don’t even read it let alone reply to it! Filter such emails straight into the trash.

That message is both a fake and an outright fraud. Don’t give the phishers any of your personal information at all. Spam that scam message straight into oblivion right away. This is one lottery you’ll never win because it’s “bogus.”

Another thing, the phishers telling you to “keep this lottery information confidential” would indicate to you not to say anything about this to anybody until they have finished scamming you.

FAQ: How many ships, airplanes, and tanks were needed to carry out the attack on the World Trade Center?

By NOXIN: How many ships, airplanes, and tanks were needed to carry out the attack on the World Trade Center?
Two airliners. No “traditional” bombers. No
battleships. No one landing on the shores of
America with soldiers. /// I’m not taking this question
down until I get decent answers from a few people who understand the meaning of this: “respecting the difference in opinions of other people”.
Some girl(?) put on a frownie face and
told me to grow up. She has 80 points, but that
isn’t the point. Most people would not have
a life if they did not run down somebody.
With all our military strength, terrorists got through and bombed New York. They accomplished it with digital technology.
Encrypted transmissions from one terrorist to
another. Cel phones, computers, faxes. That’s
how they did it. This I know because of a transcript
of a meeting of the National Security Administration.
The point to my irritating question is,
how can DIGITAL SECURITY be at
the level of military hardware-based
security without compromising the
privacy of the “ordinary person”? My
question was posed sarcastically,
and was misinterpretreted in
various ways or the reader was totally
lost. I wonder if growing up and
living in the United States all my life
makes me the foreigner.

You are so lame and pathetic your question does not deserve any answer.

Answer by netjr
Sadly you will be delluged with a group of people certain our administration \ government did it themselves. But the truth is we were attacked by hatred. A group of hate mongers took aim and devised a plan they carried out over 2 to 3 years. Yes they used electronics to communicate, but when the communications went silent they had people in place to do their terrible deeds.

Answer by masterplumber75
Bush is behind 911, and it wont be the first time. Bush and his cronies had it planned before he got in office, all the facts tell a different story, than the government.

Answer by just_hanging_out_in_b&w
Tanks: probably zero.

Ships: well, we don’t know how they got to North America, do we? Maybe they took an ocean cruise.

Planes: two hijacked planes.

We know, there are other ways to fight a battle without tanks. If only Bush would come to this understanding.

and they contacted me back about a job campaigning for the Obama care program, in short the guys that stand out in front of the grocery store asking for people to sign a paper saying they support it.

i was interested in it and replied back to them asking them to send me some more info for the position which they did along with an application that i filled out and handed it in at 9am aug 10th, they got a copy of my drivers licence and asked me to fax them a copy of my ssc which i did. they set me up with the address, date and time of orientation which will be today at 4 and i was all ready for this job. in my understanding hired. i get a call back from them around 3pm that day saying they couldn’t get things to work out with my age and that they weren’t gonna have me come to the orientation that there was a wavier there supervisor wouldn’t give them. now i filled out tax forms everything and then they call me 6 hours later and tell me this. im pretty sure i can take them to court about it please give me any info regarding this thank you.

What you’ve probably done is submitted personal information to a fraud ring which will now commit identify theft using the info you so helpfully, guilelessly provided. Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Consumer Dept. to report the facts as you have here.

This is no civil action but a criminal matter. You’ve been given all you’re going to get – a life lesson. DO NOT ever provide copies of personal ID! DO NOT ever assume a job is yours until you have successfully completed the probation period.

Answer by Quizzard
No, you cannot take them to court. You were never formally hired, and even if your WERE, even if you attended the orientation, even if they gave you your little clipboard and stood outside the local Walmart, they can STILL cancel the job, as long as they pay you for the time you actually worked. You have NO guarantee of work, even for 1 minute.

I THINK this is just a screwup on their part, the recruiter din’t realize that an underage person couldn’t do the job. I THINK they went to too much effort just to get your ID information. But this craiglist, so there is always a good chance it’s a scam.

Answer by MSAD
Take them to court for what?

Even if they hired you….you show up for work….and they turn around and fire you for no reason – that’s legal. Unless you have an employment contract that outlines when you can and can’t be fired then you have no case.

It’s not age discrimination. The job requires that you be 18 to do it. They tried to get a waiver for you – they tried to help you get the but but were unable to. So you were never actually hired for the job.

No free money for you. Good luck in your job search.

Sorry but you have no case.

Something else to beware of – its possible that you just gave your social security number and drivers license to someone who is not letigimate and is going to steal your identity.

Health Care Reform has already passed. They don’t need people to sign a petition. It’s law now. There is a really good chance you just fell for a scam.

You need to let your parents know what you did so you can get their help making sure your idenity is not stolen.

Contact the Social Security Administration and see if you can put some kind of fraud alert with them.

Then contact all 3 credit bureaus and put a “freeze” on your account. It will cost about per bureau but will prevent the idenity thief from getting loans in your name.

Also call the DMV and see if there is any type of alert you can put on file with them.

You may want to call the police department and file a police report. You’re going to need that once the scam artists start racking up purchases, credit etc using your idenity.

A law suit for a job you did not get is the least of your worries. You could have created a huge mess for yourself.

In the future, never give your DL and SSN to any employer that you can’t meet in person – that does not have a brick and morter building.

Equipment needed to automatically place callers on hold when lines are busy? – Fax Online

Question by Amy: Equipment needed to automatically place callers on hold when lines are busy?
I have qwest with 5 lines, 1 being used for fax and DSL modem. I have lines 2,3 and 4 on roll over. I need to buy some equipment that will automatically put incoming call on hold and play a message until a line is open to ring through to. What type of equipment will i need and where is a good place to get it online? I currently have 4 four line phones from att model 1040′s in use.

Answer:

Answer by Carl N
If you’re that busy, you need more than just answer equipment. The item in question is a call sequencer, but that’s probably more expensive than just changing out the phone system and making the system do your sequencing. A 6-line (comes in 2,6 and 12) sequencer weighs in at -1500. http://www.vikingelectronics.com/products/view_product.php?pid=235

An ASA/DXD module for a Partner ACS phone system shows up in the secondary market for less tnan 0.

Your best bet would be to look in you phone directory under Telephone Dealers and get a quote for a system with your requirements. Then you can budget a solution.

Very high volume FAX MACHINE needed? – Fax Machine

fax machine

By jtoothman25: Very high volume FAX MACHINE needed?
We can have 850 faxes come in during a five hour period, and need a fax machine that can accomodate that. Maybe the phone lines back up? We are dropping faxes, and it is in regard to payroll.

Selected answer:

Answer by Tito1411
I would probably recommend 3 or possible 4 lines in circular hunt. You could use 3 or 4 different fax machines. You would need a telephone system capable of providing single line ports for the fax machines. The way it would work is you would have 1 main fax number and 3 rollover numbers. All of these numbers would be set to ring into a hunt group on the phone system. This hunt group would in turn be set to ring the fax machines. When a fax call came in it would tie up line 1 and one of the fax machines. The next fax call would ring to the next line in hunt and ring to a free fax machine. You could adjust the number of lines and fax machines as your requirements determine. This is a fairly simple way of doing this. Another way would be with a similar setup on the phone system but using a fax server instead of multiple fax machines. The fax server is basically a computer with several fax ports. If your receiving this many faxes then I would definitely recommend the fax server as this will provide easier manageability of the documents. You would need to get your telephone system provider involved in setting up the telephone side and your IT provider in setting up the fax server.

What is needed to organize a service type of business? I am going to hire a few contractors & do the marketing?

Question by organizehomeoffice: What is needed to organize a service type of business? I am going to hire a few contractors & do the marketing?
and answer the calls, scheduling & making sure they get paid. What do I need to do. I will use my home office & they will supply their own tools & be contractors. What do I need in my office. Phone, fax, copier, calender, invoices, envelopes. It seems simple what am I forgetting. I need a way to keep track of customers & have never used a computer to do that. Is that the best way? or is it Ok to use a notebook?
Thank you as you can tell I am very new to all of this.

Featured answer:

Answer by Charles
I own a computer consulting firm. I use Service CEO but there are numerous software tools like this to integrate things like Service Schedulng, Project Management, Invoicing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Service Contract Management. A notebook would be just fine in running these.

You might want to look into ne of these types of packages. Also, you should develop a very good sub-contractor agreement and have a local attorney review it for you and have all your subs read and sign it. They will be representing YOUR company and interests and not their own. The clients you acquire are yours and you need to protect your interests.

Answer by chris h
You should get some accounting software, such as quickbooks, you will need to get liability insurance, you need to get a business telephone number, you should also get your self set up with a web site and email address for your own domain. The quickest thing to do is go to the yahoo small business site pick a domain name and sign up for one of their packages. It is the most inexpensive domain registration/email/website combo I have seen.

Very important, go find a CPA to use for your taxes, and as an accounting consultant

Answer by Major Tom
You definitely need a computer with a good antivirus. I recommend Kaspersky. First, I would suggest you do a system restore to wipe the entire hard drive clean before you install anything. Phones, faxes, copiers, and calenders would be very beneficial. Might I suggest making yourself a business card for good measure? Also, a secondary e-mail address, some consultants, and a sponsor could help. Do you have good interpersonal skills and a patent lawyer? That could be another asset.

the file ‘fxscfgwz.dll on windows xp home edition cd-rom is needed?

By rockyrednewyork: the file ‘fxscfgwz.dll on windows xp home edition cd-rom is needed?
this message flashed up when I was trying to set up fax service on windows xp. How do I fix this?

Selected answer:

Answer by thunder2sys
put in the xp home cd and it will install the necessary file. Faxing services is not installed unless you specifically ask for it and you need the cd to do it.

Answer by 942
i think u want to installing faxing service on your computer.
right?
The new printer is unrelated to Windows XP fax service. The Windows
XP fax, when installed, becomes a printer within its own right. The
file for which you are looking is not in the root folder of the
Windows XP CD-ROM. Do a search of the CD to locate the file. It is
most likely compressed. Your reinstallation CD is an image rather
than individual files. Usually OEM computers have a folder under
Windows called \Options\CABS which contains the Windows XP files in
case you want to install a component not already installed by the
computer manufacturer.

If you can’t find the right Windows XP drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Perform a free driver scan at:

http://www.drivers-updates.net/drivers/windows-xp-drivers.html

Also, you can get the driver from the official site:

FAQ: landline phone needed for ADT security service?

Question by help_please: landline phone needed for ADT security service?
Most people go wireless nowaday. I also don’t use my landline phone (~$ 35/month), except to get faxes and ADT security monitoring service.

What is other alternatives?

Featured answer:

Answer by imgarysomers
VONAGE

Answer by stanleynem
The security companies would prefer that you use a landline phone to connect to central monitoring for reliability. After all, when the power goes out at your home, you can pretty much guarantee that your phone line is still up.

One could consider VoIP such as the one suggested earlier, but only as long as you have a UPS on your broadband modem and telephone adaptor.

Ask ADT if they provide equipment and support for cellular or IP (internet) monitoring. The technology exists, and companies outside of ADT provide services which support cellular and IP monitoring. It just costs quite a bit to get, though, so I wonder if ADT would subsidize it through monthly charges or a longterm contract. Couldn’t hurt to ask.

Answer by Roger Vadim
I gotta go to my forum and look up the security company! no you don’t need a land-line anymore…since so many ppl have VoIP now. there are several home security companies now specializing in home security for VoIP…and with the fax, I can use it if I set my baud-rate to 6900 and use the overseas mode! try it! also on my VoIP phone I have one analog outlet I plug the fax machine in…old-fashioned stand alone faxes do better if you have VoIP anyway…..

since you already have ADT here it is….

http://www.adt.com/resi/system_packages/VOIP/

Answer by lennystrangeways
ADT Security can supply a GSM Module that allows you to use the mobile network, although this is really intended for back up to your land line. Cost around 00+ AUD plus you need a simcard which costs about a month. These are very rough quotes. The problem with the mobile back-up and VOIP internet is the unreliability of the telecommunication service they use. A landline is always on, while broadband varies (especially with Wireless Broadband which is still in its infancy in Australia). Mobiles still drop out to this day, especially when the infrastructure is overloaded. So really the land-line is still the best option for a few years yet.
