FAQ: My picture files used to open with WIndows Picture and Fax Viewer, now it opens with Paint? – Fax Driver
Posted by in Fax Driver on January 21, 2012

My Question: My picture files used to open with WIndows Picture and Fax Viewer, now it opens with Paint?
I’ve checked the properties over and over again, it is set to open with windows picture and fax viewer, but it still opens with the stupid PAINT! This happened when I momentarily installed ACDSEE to resize several pics at once, so I tried uninstalling it, but it’s still the same. Help!
Dr. House,
Did that and it still ain’t working. =(
Right click on whatever picture you want to open and select open with, click other, a list will come up and you can find the software you want to open it with. If you want to open all files of this type permanently, check the always box and hit apply.
Right clk a picture and select Open With. Now clk Browse and browse to the Pic / Fax Viewer and select it. Before closing the window, check the box that says: Always Open this file type with the selected program. (or words something like that) Problem solved! You have to do this with each pic file type. (.jpg / .gif etc.)
right click any picture file then click the properties option then select the open with option and select fax viewer and check the box clik ok button
You can choose the windows program to work with.Right click on the picture file you want to open while pressing the shift key.Below OPEN you will find the OPEN WITH option.A new window will open, find and select WINDOWS PICTURE AND FAX VIEWER,after selecting it,check the box saying ALWAYS OPEN THIS PROGRAM TO USE THESE FILES.Thats it.Hope this helps.
you should right click on the file and select open with, then choose the prgram you want the image opened with.

Fax Service: How do I open a fax?
It keeps giving an error message that you dont have the right program installed. But it doesnt say which program to install. I tried efax but id didnt work. Thanks in advance.
Actually I already recievied it I just want to open it.
I FAX through my FAX modem. It is very easy.
Create a Word, Excel, whatever, file
File
Print
for the printer, click the down arrow and select FAX
Of course, the FAX has to have been installed.
-You go to Add/Remove
-You want to add a component (not a program)
-scroll down the list of components available to you and select the FAX
-After you select it, you have to configure it – give it your information, tell where to send FAXes, when, etc. — you’ll see when you get to it.
What do you think? Answer below please!

I shoot a photo, I open jpeg in window fax viewer and one in Photoshop. Colors are not the same!?

Q&A: I shoot a photo, I open jpeg in window fax viewer and one in Photoshop. Colors are not the same!?
I seems that the photoshop colors look a lot more faded. how can i go to get the color the same? When I print from window/fax viewer the colors are normal just like the photos.. so the problem I have been getting is opening in photoshop and the colors are faded…then adjusting it..which print out much much more magenta. How do I make the colors the same between photoshop and window fax viewer
Try adjusting the Color Management settings in Photoshop in order to match it to the printer. Check the link for details.
Forget about Fax viewer. Stick with Photoshop, use sRGB colour space, calibrate your monitor. That should be enough to get you started.

Ask by greenrocket04: how come when i open a pic. attatchment there is more afterwards?
ok i recived a picture through a email. when i downloaded to open the picture. it opend with windows picture and fax viewer. and the picture opend. but i happend to click the little arrow on the bottom to go to the next image, and sure enough there were other stuff…some were picuters, some were gifs, mostly internet stuff. or web pages ive visited and certain images came with it. where does that come from?
if it has something to do with “temporary internet files”….are they my internet files. or pages ive visited? or the person who sent me the attatchemt?
Answer:
Answer by Devin H
that would be your “temporary internet files”
your computer has a folder is uses to open random internet stuff in and periodically clears it out. It’s also waht you use to open files straight from the internet and such.
you can’t really hurt anything by messing with it.
