Q&A: What are my options for electric suppliers in Maryland and will there be a choice once de-regulation occurs? – Fax Free
Posted by in Fax Free on February 5, 2012

My Question: What are my options for electric suppliers in Maryland and will there be a choice once de-regulation occurs?
I have been solicited by other power companies to undercut the rate increase. These phone calls and faxes are either guaranteed fixed rates or a percentage off whatever BGE’s default supplier prices will be. What will be the result if other companies actually start price competition in MD?
Excellent question – wasn’t it just a year or so ago we were all being courted by as many as five alternative electricity suppliers? Where are they now?

There are a lot of work from home scams out there. Most of the responses you’ll get to this message (any that include a link) are good examples. However, there are some legit work from home jobs. There are three basic things to keep in mind. First, any job opportunities that require you to pay any money (no matter what they call it: setup fee, training costs, starter kit, etc.) are scams. Second, legitimate work from home opportunities are rarely advertised as such. Rather, they are other types of jobs (such as technical writer) that happen to let you work from home, and often only after you’ve proved yourself. Third, there are only a limited number of jobs where working at home is typically an option: the types of jobs that 1) output can be easily measured, and 2) you can perform alone and offsite. Having said all that, if you really want to work from home and control your schedule, your best bet is to start your own business.

Well do I have the perfect solution for you now. There are no lack of opportunities to earn extra cash or even a full income online. There is an area known as affiliate marketing which you would definitely want to explore.
It requires practically zero startup cost and all you need is a computer and Internet connection. Basically you get a commission for helping to sell other people’s products online. All you do is promote their products on the Internet and you get paid! It is that simple. You do however have to put in some effort to find out how this business works. To motivate you, it is a known fact that successful affiliate marketers earn 4 to 5 figure sums consistently on a monthly basis.
The link below will give you much needed tips to lead you to your first baby step in your successful affiliate marketing business.

Is an oral agreement binding between two individuals in a sale of options for a private company?
Posted by in Fax Email on September 27, 2011
By igeo: Is an oral agreement binding between two individuals in a sale of options for a private company?
On numerous occasions, the buyer indicated intent to buy the options in a company that is private. The options are transferrable. The buyer even sent a contract by email which was signed and faxed by the seller with no changes. After the fax was sent, the buyer went silent. No options were transferred. But does the seller have any liability for extending an offer and having it accepted?
I don’t have a witness to the agreement, but I have a voice mail from the buyer stating that he will buy the shares at a certain price range. Not sure if that makes a difference. But that combined with his email with the contract, seems that he has made an offer than I then accepted. Does that change anything?

Oral agreements are binding contracts except for real estate. It is harder to prove the terms of them though with out a contract document.
Answer by darkangel1111
do you have a witness to this transaction
Answer by absoluteao
no oral agreement is completely binding because when presented in court, and oral agreement has very little potential as compared to a written contract

You had a contract that was prepared by the buyer, signed by you and returned to the buyer, did the buyer sign the offer? Do you want to sell or sue? If you want to sell then move on to a better potential buyer. If you feel like suing you may have grounds. Contact a Contract Attorney.

Question by Ruester: In Windows XP, how do you change the options when you plug photo media into your computer?
I have Win XP Home, I have a card reader – when I first plugged a card into the reader it gave me a list of options of what I wanted to do with the photos… ie – import them using x…, view the pics with windows picture and fax viewer….etc.
I picked the wrong one, but the check box was checked that read “always do the selected action”, but I want to change that – how do I do that?

Faxing Options! Need Suggestions – Replacing eFax?
Posted by in Fax Service on February 18, 2011
Ask by needanswers: Faxing Options! Need Suggestions – Replacing eFax?
I would like to replace my current eFax service – paying 16.95/mo and only receiving 1-2 faxes per month and sending 1-2 every 3 months!
Catch – I need to keep my current fax number. Any suggestions for the lowest cost replacement? I have a laptop, so it’s not always connected to use in receiving faxes – something online that can receive and let me download would be ideal.
What is a good option AND will allow me to use custom/current fax number? ideas??

Answer by Yaga Z
Definitely try RingCentral or MyFax, I am sure that you can keep your current number and your monthly plan price will be reduced to half (8 to 10 dollars a month at most). You can try them free as well for 30 days, check out http://faxfromyourcomputer.com/
Answer by Sam
MyFax offers you two options:
The MyFax best value plan is 10/monthly, for either a local or toll free number. that will give you 100 sent and 200 received pages. I’m familiar with eFax and I know they charge extra for toll free numbers, MyFax does not.
They have also launched a new service, MyFax Free www.myfax.com/free which will allow you to send up to 2 faxes, up to 10 pages each (with cover) to local, or international destinations.
There maybe a possibility for you to port your number, you should check with MyFax.
I hope this helps.

What are my legal options when my car was mistakenly repossessed? – Fax Driver
Posted by in Fax Driver on January 10, 2011

By Jimi L: What are my legal options when my car was mistakenly repossessed?
Last month my car was (correctly) repossessed on 3/11/09. I was able to borrow some money and get it back the same day. Then this past Sunday, 4/19/09 I got a knock on my door at around 8pm. When I answered, it was the same repossession company that had taken my car the month before, and the guy at the door told me he was here for my car again. I was very confused, as my payment in the middle of March had been made in full and up to date, and my payment in April had been made a day early. I showed the guys (there were two, which is one of the reasons I didn’t come downstairs legally armed) my copy of the payment from March, and although I didn’t have a paper copy of my April payment, I was able to get the one guy to listen to the automated recording w/ the loan company stating that I had no payments due, thus showing that I was paid up. I said there was no possible way they were there to take my car. They then showed me their work order, which was originally generated on 3/31/09. This gave me further confusion, as even if there was some kind of problem with my April payment, there work order was generated before that payment was due. I again stated they weren’t taking my car, but they told me that there was nothing they could do, they had their orders. Rather than risk any serious altercation, I opted to hand over my spare keys and allow them to take the car. I have terrible luck, and I decided something must have gone wrong and I was indeed at fault.
After calling off work (I am almost forbidden to take off work on Mondays as my job duties have to deal w/ preparing for new music, movie, and book new releases that come out every Tuesday, and since I don’t have an understudy or anything, I’m the only guy in the store who can do it, but I was able to plead to the right boss and instead just had to bust my ass even harder on Tuesday before the store opened), I tried to get some sleep. The next morning, when I called the loan company, I eventually was told that it was a mistake, and that my car was indeed not scheduled to be repossessed. The loan company informed me it was a paperwork error with the recovery company, and that I could contact them myself and arrange to get my car back. I called the recovery company, and was given the number to one of their drivers and told to call him. When I called, he informed me he needed to get the release faxed to him, and that he’d call me back. An hour and a half later, I had not received a phone call, so I called the recovery company and they told me they’d call their driver and make sure he got the fax. About 15 minutes later I finally got a call from the driver. He asked me when I could come pick up the car. I was pretty pissed off at that point, that they had towed my car an hour away and now expected me to pick it up, but I was more worried about getting my car back before some other paper work error caused them to mistakenly auction it off or something worse.
I eventually got my car back. Some of the things I was most upset about is that not a single person apologized to me. The loan company didn’t go to any steps to get my car back for me, and instead left me to deal with the repossession company. The guys there made me wait around and then expected me to pick up my own car.
What kind of legal options do I have? I’ve seen a few sites stating this is grand theft auto, but I’m not sure if this applies in Pennsylvania, and if it does, what the statute of limitations would be. I’m not really that interested in spending my own money to sue anyone, but I wonder if maybe I can get something from one or both of these companies in compensation. I’m thinking maybe a month forgiveness on my loan and a full tank of gas maybe? Anyone have any advice?

Snail Mail for business is usually a no. I would (and have) done both e-mail and fax. Fax is used heavily in corporate America. The reason for sending both is that it is very hard to loose two of the same document. At some point in time both will come to the same department and you will look eager and and making sure your resume is not overlooked is a must. Hope this helped ya.

Usually the job advertisement tells you what method to use
Answer by Steve
It depends what type of job you’re applying for. If it’s a customer service job with a retail store or restaurant you should drop it off in person. If it’s a software job or large corporation you should email them.
I remember at my old company there were always random resumes piling up by the fax machine. They never made it to prospective hiring managers. I don’t know what industry would want a fax. Possibly legal or financial.
Mailing, not sure about that. Thing is, you just don’t want to seem desperate. Most industries have migrated to looking for employees online, so if you start mailing resumes they may look down on you.
