Taxpayer Advocate Service, will this service help to expedite the refund processing? – Fax Service

Question by Amy: Taxpayer Advocate Service, will this service help to expedite the refund processing?
I e-filed on Jan 19th and my WMR status has changed on me 4x and has been at “due to processing delays your refund date has been changed to Feb 23″ for the last two weeks, I contacted the Taxpayer Advocate because not receiving it has become a hardship at this point. She asked for a copy of my tax return and my W-2 well I got it all faxed over to her today, my question is to anyone who has used the Taxpayer Advocate Service, how long before you received or heard anything, did you feel it expedited the process?? This question is ONLY to those who have used this service not for the opinions of the professional cpas or tax people and any rants will be reported for abuse.
As I stated in the question cpas and tax professionals this is NOT for you! But since most of them have to give their two cents anyway its really none of your business what kind of financial hardship it is.
Tyson, I completely understand your aggravation, at this point I am so frustrated by the IRS and I am one to take every avenue to see if there is a quicker solution and yes its a HARDSHIP. Every single year for the past 14 yrs I have filed my taxes and never had a problem I always promptly received my refund. The ONE (and last) time I do them myself to SAVE money, rather than go to H&R block because their fees go up every year, I get reviewed?! What kills me is that the state won’t accept your return until the Feds do. Well it took the state 8 days to send me my refund so I figured check was in the mail for the Feds (or direct deposit was in the routing? lol) but nope up for review. I’m not dying in the streets but since I have never had a problem I always depend on that money to come through like it ALWAYS has, I moved this year so I actually really needed the refund the first of Feb! Q: When they sent it in Aug was it paper check?

Unless you are on the verge of being evicted, the Advocate wasn’t supposed to get involved until 7 weeks went by (March 9th).

Hi Michelle. as you know we are in the same boat. I called IRS today and they said that I had to wait until MARCH 19 to get my refund or call them back. Thats a full TWO months after filing. I called the TA a few years ago when the IRS did this to me and honestly, I dont think it sped anything up. I ended up getting my refund in August of that year, however it did help because she told me exactly what the hold up was and what they were looking at, whereas the IRS keeps it secret. And as far as the other response, maybe she is facing eviction, that’s a financial hardship isnt it? Me having to wait months and months to get my money that I paid throughout the year is a hardship. Today the IRS said they are “implementing new procedures” this year and it’s possible all of us got caught up in some sort of test group, which I think is their BS answer for I dont know why we are keeping your money and not telling you why.

Hi Michell I have been following you on here since we both had the same problem. Listen when I file my taxes on 1/22 my refund was suppose to be DD on 2/5 then it changed to 2/9 then it changed to 2/16 and it stayed 2/16 it never changed again. Well my refund was DD on feb 12. I know this has been hard for you but I think you will get your refund by feb 23 if not before. I used the tax advocate program 2 years ago, but it was because some employees from jackson and hewitt stole my info and file a return with my SS#. It took about 3 months for me get my refund. If your WMR has stayed the same then there is no need to worry. Just check your bank on feb 19. There have been a lot of problems this tax season with all the early filers and that new work for pay. Just try to hold on a little longer keep me updated @ sunset4218@yahoo.com

Name at least three jobs that have been influenced by such technological advances as robotics, word processing software, fax machines, and electronic mail. Describe the jobs prior to the technological advances and explain how these jobs have changed or will change because of the technological advances. For each job, list the new skills that you feel are relevant for pay-for-knowledge pay programs.

Okay, seriously no one wants to do your homework for you. Part of learning means putting in the work. Here are some tips though. For industries I’d start with the Auto Industry as far as robotics, and software (someone needs to make the robots do stuff and they can’t do that without someone writing the program to make it move) I’d also look into Sales jobs. A lot of sales jobs use e-mail and fax machines to communicate between states. Not all companies are consolidated in one spot. Example: I worked at a bank in a call canter and we would have to contact insurance companies in different states or we had to create a report of someones identity getting stolen and send it to the Identity Theft department located in a different state or city. So there is a pretty good jumping off point. Seriously do the work and don’t expect free answers, You have the internet and it’s a great tool, but asking for free answers is lame. Be happy you have the internet. Actually you might even use that as another industry, being a student is a job, am I right? You have the internet where it wasn’t always available back in the day.
