My Question: hwocome when i open up a JPEG image in XP professional, it opens up with Windows Picture Fax and viewer?
like if i open up the sample pictures in windows xp professional.
it opens up in windows picture and fax viewer……
plus its not a fax program….its just a JPEG image in Windows xp professional…
its normal
or else
right click on the pic then open with the microsoft picture
or open properties then chage the opener
It can open with whatever program you call the default
right click / open with…
like that guy said, its normal, if you want to change just left click it and go to properties and change the view form

I have windows Xp, but I can’t find the Pro cd that came with the comp. Is there any way to download it online or anything?

No, just try to look for the same version of xp use in the installation, or you can use any other fax software that is not made by Microsoft, just download them from Internet , by searching for fax software,

I don’t think so, because for fax facility u have to need a modem and a modem CD in MS WIN XP PROFESSIONAL

When it prompts you for the CD can you choose browse? If so browse to the Windows directory and it may fiind the files it needs to install MS Fax.

My computer came w/fax as well. I use to use it. when I try to run fax set up to install, it says for me to insert windows xp professional service pack 2. I didn’t get a disk like this w/my computer when i purchased it. the only thing I know of having is a microsoft professional (Office). This is quite annoying. I just want to install the fax back on it. Please help.

2 ways to do this.
1. If your copy of Windows XP is a legal copy go to Windows Update and it should install SP2 for you, then you should be ok.
2. go to http://www.filehippo.com or http://www.goloads.com and download Windows XP SP2 for free, save it to a disc, and then put the disc in when it asks you to.
