How do I report an invalid SAT question?
Posted by in Fax Online on January 11, 2012
Q&A: How do I report an invalid SAT question?
I took the SAT today and I just got home. I noticed one math question on the SAT that did not appear to have any correct answer listed. The proctor had no idea what I could do about this. Is there a way to report an invalid question online, over the phone, or by fax?
AH I just figured it out. There was only one I was unsure of, it was the surface area of the rectangular prism with sides 2x, 3x, and 5x. I messed up, but I know for a fact the answer is 62x^2 now. Good thing I left it blank. It was the last problem in section 9 for me… I didn’t notice any other weird questions though.
“davegross38,” first of all I know that there has never been a case in history where a question was determined as invalid in the writing and verbal sections. I have heard that it is possible and has happened for the math section, so statistically, maybe this could’ve been the next year – who knows?
“I bet that the college board gets a bunch of people every test day just like you…” I think it’s worth mentioning that after I realized my mistake, I found no need to report it to collegeboard. So, luckily, they didn’t “get me;” I’m not “one of those people.” Again, I never contacted them.
“I just hope you didn’t disturb the whole room while you explained to the proctor…” Hold on, “explained?” Where did I say that? I’m curious as to what you got on the reading comprehension section… wow. If you wanted to know, I waited until everyone had walked out of the room and I merely MENTIONED to her that I thought a problem was wrong, and I asked what I should do. She said she wasn’t sure.
Last, the fact that I continued doing this problem at home suggests there was still a spec of doubt in my mind – a possibility that I could be wrong.
And for that question, the answer is 666. It says “less than 1000″ so you don’t include it. so, from 1 to 999. 999 numbers. Every third number is divisible by 3, so 999/3=333. The remaining numbers are NOT divisible by 3. So, 999-333=666. Answer is 666. It’s not 667 because you don’t include the number 1000.
i agree. i remember coming across an invalid question. contact college board. there phone is on the website.
check your inbox. from me
Did you really think there would be an invalid question on the SAT? So much thought goes into each of these questions that it is nearly impossible for an entire organization of professional (nasty) question makers to overlook a problem. I’m surprised you took this up with the proctor. That wasn’t even a tough question. I bet that the college board gets a bunch of people every test day just like you who think they couldn’t possibly have made a mistake and that the question must be wrong. If the question is wrong then it would become apparent in the statistics once the tests were graded and it would become a huge issue because it could affect scores across an entire section (people who spend the whole time trying to get a problem with no answer). I just hope you didn’t disturb the whole room while you explained to the proctor that the test MUST be wrong.
What did you get on the question about positive numbers divisible by 3 less than 1000?
What do you think? Answer below please!
Wrong Price Question!?

My Question: Wrong Price Question!?
I work at a jewelry store and bought a necklace for my mom for Christmas. A few weeks later we get a fax from corporate saying the price on this particular necklace is wrong and they expect me to either pay the difference ($ 22) or return the item. It was clearly their fault, as it was marked the wrong price in the store and on the computer. I am wondering if they can legally hold me accountable to correct their mistake, especially since I am an employee.
No they can not. Who ever marked it down is the one who should be held liable.
No they can not hold you responsible. Are they going to call every customer who purchased the same necklace and tell them that they have to pay more or return it? Tell them to pound sand!

Tax Return Question? – Fax Internet
Posted by in Fax Internet on November 1, 2011
Ask by dzwreck: Tax Return Question?
I am looking at my S-corp (form 1120s) returns from last year that my accountant filed and am just wondering a few things. My company cell phone bill runs roughly $ 200/month & my accountant makes no reference anywhere as to deducting this expense off. Also, my company phone, internet and fax bills averaged $ 700/month (shared T1 lines, with 10+ lines and 2 faxes) and there is no deduction on my taxes for this either. Does anyone have any reason or ideas as to why these items would not have been included as deductions anywhere on my returns. I would have thought they would have been included on line 19 for other deductions, but after thouroughly reviewing the breakdown of expenses she included these items do not exist on there. This is roughly 10k of missing deductions. Should these items have been used as deductions on my tax returns? If they should have, should I, or can I, file an amended return with these items listed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Without examining the return and all supporting schedules it’s not possible to say if they were claimed or not. You should ask your accountant about it. If she erred she should correct the problem at no cost to you.
Answer by Judy
Have you asked your accountant that question? Would seem more like a uestion for him/her than for Yahoo Answers.
Answer by Tessa O
Yes those should definitely have been written off! I recommend filing the ammended return. People write off much bigger expenses. I met someone who wrote off their son’s truck because they owned a ranch and claimed that it was ranch equipment. Therefore, you deserve your deductions for your business.
Answer by atef a
according to income-tax law es all expenses that generated the income could be deducted from the gross profit .
this is general and essential idea of income tax law , and assessores some times demand documents to sour of these expenses
but in general all expenses generate income shall be deducted

Answer by muneepenee
1. yes
2.wotever em kall the last 3 digits on the bak av the kredit kard…its sum sorta sekerity chek.
It started bak wen stores had a littel mechanikal devies…
put kard in it, slide a handel, & it run a roler over kard that press the number onto a paper karbon. Bak then em kept trak av all that paper & shipped it around.
So kredit kumpanees put a number on bak weer it dont impress the paper.
Answer by Kaiden
The 16 digit account number is the number that is on the front of the credit card, and the 3-digit code is the security number (pretty much to prove you actually have the card, and didn’t just sneak a peak at the front of someone else’s credit card.)
If the card is activated and you have that information, you can use the card online. You will likely NOT be able to use it in stores though; most stores are very weary on manually entering credit card information.

Urgent question regarding Internet Payday Advances? – Fax Internet
Posted by in Fax Internet on October 14, 2011

Ask by Cheyenne: Urgent question regarding Internet Payday Advances?
I have received a Payday advance from an online lender. I have done business this company before with no problems. At the end of last month, I signed up for an additional loan, which was paid to me directly into my Savings Account. When it became time to repay the loan, I called Customer Service and told them that I would not be able to pay back until 7/15. They told me that would be okay, but I would have to pay the full amount…about $ 1500. Well, I cannot pay the full amount tomorrow, and when I talked to CS again today, they told me that if I did not pay the FULL SUM tomorow, they will fax over a copy of the Wage Assignment to my employer to have them send my entire PAYCHECK to them. This would be my regular PAPER CHECK. Can they do this without a judgment from a court? I did electronically what is called a Wage Assignment when I took out the loan which says they can request from my employer to send any due monies earned by me directly to them. Can they do this?
I am not running from them, I plan to pay them in full, but I am a single parent and if they took my next paycheck in full, I would be homeless, as that would be my rent check. I fully plan to repay them, but can only pay a part tomorrow, and probably the remainder on 8/15. I just want to make sure they CAN’T just fax over a paper to my employer and have my paycheck seized and sent directly to them. Thank you SO MUCH in advance for taking the time to read this and respond. I am really worried as I do not want to jeopardize my rent. I realize that payday loans are stupid and I just got in over my head this time.
Yawna, thanks for your opinion, but you did not answer my question. I don’t think you know the answer anyway.
Rose, thanks for your answer. I will try that. Nice to know someone out there has some good advice and not just sounding ignorant.

Yes, I don’t know why people borrow money from these payday loan companies. If you stay on a budget and don’t spend what you dont have, you wouldn’t be borrowing money from these people. I hate to be blunt, but its the truth.
All they are doing is putting money out there knowing most people won’t be able to pay it back. This is how they make their money, by charging a very high interest when skip payments.
This is why no one else answered your question. You have a lot to learn.
Answer by Rose with thorns
I had the same kinda problem, and I ended up calling them and working out an arrangement. I know that sometimes life is hard and we do the best we can. It’s good that you are honest and working on the problem. Call them again, maybe even ask for a Supv. who can help. Good luck and God Bless.

FAQ: I asked this question about B/K before but I think I worded it wrong?

Ask by Janet: I asked this question about B/K before but I think I worded it wrong?
We want to file Chapter 13 and we do want to use a lawyer-the thing is we would like to use a lawyer that will communicate via email/phone/ fax as opposed to having to find time to go to a lawyers office-has anyone been able to find a lawyer that will work this way?
Good Answer:
Answer by wizjp
Pretty much every lawyer is going to want to do the initial meetings face to face; payment of retainer, initial transfer of documents to be included, and changes as they occur.
It’ll be minimal; but still needed.

Question by Your Mother: Keep getting calls from this phone number (open question to see the number)?
(909) 605-5975 did reverse lookup and searched online for it. All I could find is that its a land line in Ontario and when I call all I get is a fax machine tone. Any body have any clue as to who or what this phone number could belong to?

Answer by Fireball
no idea…ive had weird unidentified ones too from tex and idaho…might be telemarketers…ignore them…important ppl leave messages.
Answer by Bill M
When you get a call from that number, does anybody say anything? If not, it sounds like someone put the wrong number in their fax machine. You could send a fax to that number saying “Stop calling my number!” or just ask your phone company to block it.

Internet/”parenting-a12-year-old” question:?
Posted by in Fax Internet on September 29, 2011

Question by BlazingFire: Internet/”parenting-a12-year-old” question:?
I have enough reason to believe she has visited some dirty websites, atleast since Saturday. Her inbox is filling with (unread) dirty spam, the “blocked website” list is filling with names of dirty sites, and last week I found a porn picture a kid gave her, from a magazine, under her bed! She forever denies that she saw it or put it there,
and doesn’t know how it got there. (I know she did it, I’m not dumb and she mad that I blame her, not sad that she’s in the doghouse). So I’m clueless what I should do
about this with her since after last week she obviously went against me “Saturday” on the net. For one thing she’s now banned from the net, “anywhere”! She was already in royal trouble from the “porn” picture. I wish I could fax her to the moon for a while!
Good Answer:
Answer by luv_2_read_2
I think you need to talk to her about it and find out why she had the porn. She’s going to need the internet for schoolwork so you need to sort this out before it happens again.
Answer by Lily
What is your problem? Big deal she is curious. Of course she is going to lie if she knows you are going to freak out. This was a perfect time to talk about stuff like this, explain about spam and ask her what questions she has. Be a parent not a cop.
Answer by onedeuce_12
Have you talked to her about sex yet? Don’t be frustrated kids are curious. Just explain to her that how the actors act out sex is not how it goes down in real life. Let her know that sex is a very special thing that unites people and not just something people do. Good Luck!
Answer by nml
There is parental blocking and you should supervise what she goes on. Tell her she is only allowed an hour a day (unless for school) and that you will be watching her. She will either deal with it, or not go on the computer.
Answer by qwid_pro_quo
instead of alienating her … why not try to relate to her
sex is not evil … and it very normal for kids to be curious
if you are not the safest person for her to be honest with, she is getting her information elsewhere

Printer/fax question?
Posted by in Fax Internet on August 26, 2011

By hardy: Printer/fax question?
I have DSL, but I don’t have a house phone (just the internet connection) but they gave me a phone #. Question is, can you use that # for faxing? Someone tried faxing me something with that # but it didn’t go through.
Selected answer:
Answer by Kasey C
You can use that for fax if you have a fax machine (or a fax-modem) hooked up to the line (with the appropriate filter).
You can’t have DSL without the phone line, so you have a phoneline, for sure. You just don’t have a “receiver” hooked up.
(Heard this story… this guy want to do VOIP so much, as soon as he got his VOIP order in, he transfered his house phone # to the VOIP company. The problem is… this DISCONNECTS his landline, and thus, also cuts off his DSL, and thus, no more VOIP! And he can’t reestablish service since the VOIP company takes 5 days to transfer the number back!
