How to permanently embed your sender details at bottom of an email ‘Reply’?

fax email

Ask by tedoniman: How to permanently embed your sender details at bottom of an email ‘Reply’?
23:16 / 25-Oct-07

When I reply to an email from a party I correspond with frequently,
I would like to save some typing time by having the ‘reply’ always
automatically come up w/ my ‘sender’ details at bottom of reply
window.

For example, I would like to see my full name, tel and fax nr’s,
email address and so on, at bottom of the ‘reply’ when I click on
‘Reply’.

I hear that some businesses use this feature but I’m not sure.
Maybe it requires a special email program.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Ted.

AM I missing something? It sounds like you are talking about a personalized signature, which is pretty easy to set up on most mail software.

But since that is so easy and been around for so long, I figure I am misunderstanding the question.

Answer by Shotsie
It is the “Signature” feature you are looking for.
Click the “Options” link in the upper right of your yahoo mail page.
Scroll down the middle column of the page that opens and click on the “Signature” link.
A window will open for you to enter the text you mentioned above in the “Signature” box, check the box below it that says “Add signature to all outgoing messages”, then click the “Save” button. Send a short message to yourself to see how it looks at the bottom of the message area.

Please leave your answer in the comments! Thanks.

How long is too long to reply to a job offer?

fax driver

Ask by The Melodious Nocturne: How long is too long to reply to a job offer?
I got a job offer last Wednesday in an e-mail, but I held off replying because I wanted to print and send in my driver’s abstract along with the signed offer letter. Now, at next Monday, I’m worried that the offer will have been revoked.

I’m in another city, 4 hours away at school, so it’s not like I can sign these things and drive over to hand them off. I have to find a fax machine or a scanner, or snail-mail. But then again, it was an e-mail.

Did I wait too long?
It is the summer student program so they know I’m far away/

If you were seriously considering taking up this job, you should have acknowledged and told them that you will be sending the signed offer letter within x days.

Now don’t procrastinate anymore. Send that email NOW. Tell them that you were wanting to send the whole package in one go but since that is taking time, you wanted to acknowledge and accept the offer by email while the papers are being readied.

You must also give them a specific time by which you will have emailed or sent the hard copy. If they have not already revoked the offer, you will be able to get it. Even after revoking they might reconsider if they had found you well-suited to the job.

How long does it take for the admissions office to reply your email? – Fax Email

fax email

Question by q_and_a: How long does it take for the admissions office to reply your email?
The registrar has replied my last few emails quite promptly and also asked me to fax my school reports, which I did. I have also sent an email on Tuesday (the same day I faxed the documents) stating so. However, I have yet to hear from them.

My reports consist of mostly As, with some Bs and Cs. Is that okay?

What should I do? Should I wait or call the admissions office? If I should wait, for how long?

I’m also really worried they might be ignoring the email, or something.

They probaly won’t just ignore it. At my school we have to set up our own little meeting with the conselers. It really isn’t that big of a problem, i’m sure they will reply to you. And your grades seem great!

If you just sent them an email saying, “hey, I faxed to you X documents” then they have no real need to respond and so they won’t. If you want to make sure the fax made it through then you should really call them.

We need a Fax machine which can send back a reply stating the fax has been recieved.Any machines or softwares?

Ask by mrinaldoss: We need a Fax machine which can send back a reply stating the fax has been recieved.Any machines or softwares?
The conventional fax on senders side does give out transmission OK signal. But we need(for legal reasons) the fax machine sending back a reply saying message recieved(with possibly our stamp/signature).But we are unable to get a person doing this in view of the downsizing of personnels and volume of fax coming in.Any ides (like a particular brand of machine or software) which can do this??

Dream on!

Were there such a device on the market, it would require the receiver’s end machine to send an acknowledgment. The receiver’s machine can be set to disable such acknowledgments if the receiver so desires. If you are dealing with what you feel are less than honorable recipients of your transmissions, they will be the first to turn off any acknowledgment of receipt features as this is their less than honorable nature. No machine can make anyone honorable.

In fact I have lawyers as customers and some of these people are masters at dodging acknowledgment of receipt and insist that e mail receipt acknowledgment modes are deactivated and some only turn on their FAX after they have approved the transmission for receipt.

If some in the legal community do this, surely others are equally aware of the receipt acknowledgment disabling capability.

If you need confirmation of delivery, a FAX is not the way to do this. You must rely on certified mail.

Ironically, the legal people who disable their acknowledgment features are the first to complain about the cost of certified mail and wish others would be sure to enable receipt acknowledgment – but that is another issue.

What do you think? Answer below please!
