Get another splitter for the phone line. It’s must be a phone line splitter not a adsl splitter.
Answer by origamimark
Put a splitter on the other phone line and connect phone/fax to phone socket of the splitter.

Get another splitter for the phone line
Answer by lanster_chennai
you can purchase a phone splitter (RJ11 DUAL PLUG) its a small extension plug type cable, it will have one RJ11 connector on one end and two RJ11 sockets on other end. plug one end in ADSL splitter in socket marked as phone. now you can use your existing phone and proposed fax in another room. thank you

Am I overdoing the power in my room, gonna cause a fire and kill myself?

Question by : Am I overdoing the power in my room, gonna cause a fire and kill myself?
Currently, I have: 2 computers, one uses 550 watts of power, the other 350 watts, a tv, a fax machine/photocopier, internet modem, computer speakers, and the two computer screens that sometimes get pretty hot. In the future I’m going to hook my xbox 360 to my computer screen, and I’m saving up to buy a plasma for my room
.
I live in Australia.

If your not blowing the power out then it sounds like you should be fine. Sounds better then some of the places I’ve lived. You probably should do something about the screens getting hot though, i’m not sure what though. Your hooked up, huh.
Answer by tholeeder
your not running all that at the same time.the speakers probably less than 12 volts .fax machine and photocopier ,not on all the time ,neither pull that many amps.modem low voltage, the computer power supplies don’t constantly pull all that power most is reserve power and you would need to have a lot of things running to pull that much.if your house is wired properly and your not blowing fuses ,your probably ok.

If you’re not blowing the breakers, then you’re fine. Just turn up the AC mate !

I need to connect my printer with my computer in another room?

By haris_el: I need to connect my printer with my computer in another room?
Hi,
have a printer in another room and a computer in another room.
Ethernet line leaves from the computer room and goes in the printer room.
My printer is an all in one – also for fax – but there is no socket for ethernet. Is there a way to connect the printer to the computer?
I know that i can buy a printer hub, however i was wondering if there is another way to connect, for example through telephone line?
Thanks

The phone line is generally only used for faxes, and will not allow a connection to a computer. A printer hub will not help you either, as all it does is allow multiple computers to connect to one printer with usb.
I think that this is what you’re looking for. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833139009
It will allow a direct ethernet connection to a wireless router or hub. It is however difficult to set up if you are not familiar with how home networking works.

Actually, there are several ways in which to network equipment, including the existing home telephone lines and powerlines within the house and the technologies have been around for many years.
You can do peer-to-peer networking between computers, or get a router or switch & network the computers together and setup “sharing” so they can all use the printer when attached to another computer.
You can also get a print server to attach the printer into the network:

A set of wireless telephone jacks should do the trick! I know radio shack used to carry these but here they are on Amazon for cheaper:

First, I have to say that there isn’t enough detail in your question. However, always the optimist, let me see if I can help.
1) One jack is never a problem. For you can get a y-jack (example here: http://www.compsource.com/pn/F8V106/Belkin_59)
2a) Do you use dial-up Internet access or DSL? If it’s DSL, just plug the y-jack into the wall and you’re all set. They can both use the line at the same time (but your phonecalls will still compete/conflict with the fax).
2b) Assuming you have the more tricky situation of dial-up Internet access, you will have to live with some limitations:
– Does your fax need to be available all the time to receive? If so, you are sunk. You can’t have your dial-up connected and still receive a fax.
– If you can have some warning about an incoming fax, just get off the Internet and the line is free for the fax.
- If you only use the fax for sending, no big problem. Just get off the Internet and the line is free for the fax.
3) Since a regular indoor phone wire can carry two lines, you can get a second line.
4) 21st century solution: Email and a scanner are a great combination to replace outgoing fax technology. As for incoming faxes, ask your senders to get a scanner and send you an email.

Simple
Use a wire splitter and use the same connection. They sell 2 and 3-way splitter so that you can connect your fax and internet.
Here is the link to show you what I am talking about
and it sells for dollar at the dollar store

My computer is connected to a modem and the fax machine is by itself

So you want to use the fax machine as a printer?
There were some modems made that allow you to do this, but chances are that yours doesn’t… if only by the virtue that you’d only buy such a modem if you knew what you were doing. Your best bet is to find two phone lines and have the modem fax it over normally.
