When I open a file for example in the recent files saved option on the file save window, I get a picture on windows viewer but no pictures near it. The next picture shown is at the beginning of my pictures I believe windows no longer recognizes any of the pictures in the second half of my pictures. Also i did a scan on my computer and the scan only scanned the pictures in the first half of my pictures. I can find second half pictures in google desktop and they open with photoimpression

when you look at files in the recent files bin, they r shortcuts to the files, not the actual files. when using windows picture and fax viewer you must open the picture of what you want it to look at in the exact location of the file. if you save all of your pictures to the same folder and look at them from there, it should fix the problem.

I can’t add a printer to my 2nd computer
.My first computer has a printer and it’s working. I connected my second computer through the router and when I went to Control Panel > Printer and Faxes > Add Printer , This is the message I get
“Operation could not be completed . The print spooler service is not running ” .
What is wrong here ? I remember removing the printer software from my computer , months ago . This is a different printer now . It’s an Epson . Do I need to download the softwares for the Epson model and install it to my 2nd computer ? Is that why it’s giving me this message ??

Do a start –> run –> services.msc. Go to the Print Spooler service and make sure that it is set to Automatic and started.

Yup — you need to install the drivers on your second computer. You don’t have the disks?

That message has nothing to do with the drivers go to start -> run-> and type in services.msc look for Print spoolers and make it start automatically and start it.

maybe its giving the message because there is no printer attached to your computer. I think a network printer is added differently.

Strange symptoms. If Printer A is cabled to Computer A, you must also install Printer A on Computer B to print across the network. But that error message is more like the properties of the printer on Computer A are not marked shared.

i only have one line…my house line in which the plug is connected into my cable modem, how do i hook up my fax machine if my phone line plug is in the cable modem..is this possible?
why would i pay for online faxing when i have my own fax machine?

Phone lines don’t plug into cable modems.
Phone lines plug into DSL, ADSL, ISDN and dial-up modems.
if your phone line is plugged into the cable modem, unplug it, it doesn’t belong there.
As for the fax machine, ASDL modems usually have 2 jacks, 1 input, 1 extension. the fax/phone can plug in there.
Alternatively, plit the line that goes into your phone, and run a line tothe fax from there.
If you have a VOIP (voice over IP) phone, and it’s router is plugged into your cable modem, OR if your cable modem has a VOIP line in it (the only time you should see a phone line in a cable modem), then basically forget it. Fax over VOIP doesn’t work.

VoIP fax does work. You just have to ask your provider if they support it. Vonage supports it and so does SunRocket.
And upon searching their site. Yes, it will support it. You just need to split the line so that you can use fax or the phone. (You can’t use both at the same time.)

I can’t stress enough that you want to avoid getting a fax machine, this is out-dated and expensive, I recommend using an online faxing service like:

You can pick up a device at your local office supply for about – that will allow your fax to “listen” for calls on your existing line, eliminating the need for the 2nd line.

depends on whether you need to be on the internet at the same time.
if you are using a dsl internet service, you don’t need a second line. you can continue making voice calls and the odd fax data transfer on the same line without affecting your internet connection.
if you’re on dial up internet, then it might be an issue when you’re expecting a fax and trying to be on the internet at the same time. besides, when you’re on the internet you can’t use the phone either, so it might make sense for you to get a separate phone line for your voice calls and fax transmissions.

I’m thinking of giving an all-in-one printer, copier, scanner, fax machine to my brother for Christmas. He gets broadband thru cable. Can he hook the machine up and use it without a dedicated telephone line?

You need a phone line but it does not have to be dedicated. When the answering machine answers the phone it will recognize a fax tone and switch from answering machine to fax. If you pick up the phone and hear a fax tone depending on the phone it may switch automatically or you will have to push a phone key.

1 phone line or 2 phone lines – either way, an All in One will work. If you have DSL broadband then connect the All-In-One to the DSL phone filter and all will work well. If you have Cable broadband, and you still have a phone “land line”, just plug tthe All-In-One into the phone jack – No dedicated phone line is necessary. Todays All-in-One’s are smart and pretty much know when its a fax trying to come in
