My Question: Is this car worth buying with the mileage + price, or should I find something newer?
I have never bought a car before so I’m needing some help.
I found a used convertible 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK280 for $ 21,000 with 71,000 miles on it that caught my eye. From the car-fax report it has never been in an accident or had any major problems. So I was wondering for a car with that many miles and that price would it be worth buying? or should I just try finding something with fewer miles for around that price or lower?

71k on a mercedes is break in mileage, I have an older 88 merc. with over 300k. but consider this, it is EXPENSIVE to have any repairs done on that car, both parts and labor, but it can go a long time without repairs and you cant get any old mechanic to work on that car. It is a entirely different beast than an american made car. to me convertible is just extra moving parts that can malfunction, leaks etc. all that being said, check kbb.com for used car prices. good luck

I cannot recommend buying an old Mercedes as your first car. They are expensive, they cost a lot to maintain, to insure and to drive. They aren’t very reliable. They are impractical.
But they sure are pretty.

Yes, your local staples should be able to do this for you.
Try Fedex Kinko’s, they can help you there, some of the store open ’till very late, some might close at 9 PM, but open at 6 AM.

I’m getting a statement of assurance notarized for a defensive driving course that I took, and I have to get it notarized. I’m going to a place that also mails & faxes things. How much should I expect to pay?

find a realitor.. some will do it for free by asking for one of thier business cards.. pretending to be a potentual customer.
basically 2 bucks to 5.. anymore then that and u gettin raped
Some banks will do it for free, if you are a customer. Also, where I live, you can get it done at the Public Library for free….

I want to buy a car that is pretty cheap and sounds too good to be true but I don’t want to spend 34.99 to find out why it has 15 records. Does anyone know a place that’s actually trust worthy and works for cheaper?
Rule 1: See the car in person. Did you do this?
Rule 2: Pay an independent mechanic to put the car on a lift and inspect it.
Don’t worry about carfax. Even if it’s good, if you haven’t seen the car, then it is a SCAM and you will lose all your money.
So… Look at it in person, and a mechanic too. Good luck.

I have to fax something that is 10 pages. Kinkos charges 1 dollar per page is there anywhere I can fax something for cheaper?
no where i recently needed to fax while my fax went down and found that at fedex/kinko’s was the cheapest however if you are faxing more than 6 pages it might actually be cheaper to buy an all in 1 printer no joke i was going to fax 23 pages but it was cheaper just to buy a dollar fax machine yeah thats bs i know
yes if you are an active member at a bank 9-10 time’s they don’t charge over 1.00 for the first page and 0.25 for each additional page !

Q&A: Who thinks Microsoft’s hiding something when it comes to faulty Xbox 360′s see inside for details.?
I don’t have a problem I need help with, I just wanted peoples’ opinions.
I have an Xbox 360 Elite. (the black ones with 120 GB HDD hard drives) I bought it in April of 2007. I’ve had no issues with it at all except for a (user error) lightning strike. I was playing during a thunderstorm. Where I live we have underground power lines and phone lines. Lightning hit a tree in my front yard which happened to be right over the phone line. I use a surge protector so damage didn’t come through power line.
We have two phone lines in our house see chart below>
Primary = Phone number, and ATT DSL internet
Secondary = Fax machine, and back-up dial-up internet
Now the router/modem (lets just call it the gateway for future purposes) provided by ATT, was pluged into a surge protector, the only problem was the back-up phone line was pluged into it for some reason.
Lightning hit the tree, down tree into phone line, through phone line to gateway, kills gateway then comes through 150 ft ethernet cable down 1 floor to my room and fries my xbox. User error seriously my fault I was playing in thunderstorm.
THIS WAS NOT RED RING OF DEATH. It froze, so I thought it was fine, turned it off and back on and I get error code: E86.
I called tech support and actually got a real person who actually spoke understandable English (amazing right) anyway he walked me through getting it fixed or replaced. I shipped it to Texas for repair.
1st of a few questions= What do you think killed the Xbox, Phone line surge, EMP burst from lightning being so close, or other.
about 2 1/2 weeks later I get my box back. There was a letter inside saying:
Dear valued customer,
In order to get you back playing and enjoying your Xbox 360, we have sent you a replacement unit.
2nd question= (I’m happy that I got a more recently made Xbox as a replacement but–>) Do they do that to everybody or do they actually repair some and send them back?
3rd Question= Anybody who has personal expierence or knows any details, feel free to answer. Since I had an Elite did they rush my order, because my brother has a normal one and he said it took his an entire month to get back.
Back to my real subject, I have never heard of any Elite getting the RROD (Red Ring of Death) nor has mine ever had any manufacturing problems. Except for freezing up when I play my original xbox version of SW Battlefront II (disc is very scratched up)
My Elite won’t even flash red when I pull the video cable out when it’s in use. (if I understand correctly thats what their suppodsed to do right?)
Bottom line and final question is below:
Does microsoft give special treatment to customers owning an Elite? Including better testing and manufacturing of consoles?
P.S. If any body knows a free forum or blog site I would be happy to discuss this there. I know that some people have strong feelings about this issue and I know that you have limmited space for an answer.
Also note: the lightning strike happened in June of ’08, it’s now Jan ’09

Ok this I would really like to know.
I bought a 100 ft ethernet cable for my xbox instead of a wireless adapter.
Reason=I at the time, didn’t know the encryption code on my internet, when we got the new gateway (free replacement courtesy of ATT) we had to reconnect my desktop computer. It is 1 floor below our internet gateway so we didn’t have much of a choice. Using Halo 3 as an example I used to always have 5 green bars for connection and sometimes 4. Now I have 3 yellow bars and 4 green bars, 5 is still common, and 2 red bars happened once.
Do you think the lightning damaged the cable in any way, even though it still works?
not that it matters but I remember reading that my error code ment the ethernet chip was fried, makes sense right

2.some times they repair some and send them back unless the damage is so great that it cost more money to fix it then to just give you a new one
3.they just put them in a pile and take care of each 360, so it could take 2 wks to 1 yr.

1. I think it was the surge in the phone line that did it.
2. I got a new replacement when I sent mine in, but I’ve had friends who’ve gotten theirs back fixed and others who’ve gotten refurbished ones.
3. They didn’t rush your order. Less people own Elites so it’s much faster to send a replacement, fix yours, or refurb to you.
I have several friends who’ve gotten the red rings on their Elites. There is no ‘special treatment’ given to Elite owners. A year ago, the Elite didn’t exist and the Premium was the top tier 360. Like I said, less people own Elites and that’s why you got it back so quickly. The majority of 360 owners have Premiums (Pros). I bought my Premium back in 2006 for the same price as the Elite is now and have never felt a need to get an Elite. Those who have Elites are mostly former Premium owners who wanted to upgrade. The Elite was released to entice people who need to have the best of everything and will waste their money doing so. It’s a Premium in a black case and is no better than the other two.

I am being sued by my landlord for rent my bank previously verified was made to the apartments. I have to file a response by tommorow. I called the bank and left multiple messages on Friday and even spoke to someone who was going to fax me something but, never did and then I could not get a hold of them again. Today I am either getting a busy signal or no answer at all on my banks line. My bank is an internet bank and I cannot go to where they are to confront them. I do not know what to do. I am worried about the bank but, feel I have paid my rent. Please help. Should I file the response without documentation and then provide the documentation later? If you respond and are a lawyer please identify that. I am a resident of San Diego, CA if you need that info. I am just so worried that I will lose my home.
I do have a bank statement showing that it cleared. I gave this to my landlord who then required the letter from the bank. Which was faxed and received but, now the landlord has filed this lawsuite and I cannot get ahold of my bank to get anything further.

Get a temp. statement from your bank showing where and when the check cleared.

So, THE same thing happened to me. What a nightmare- landlord threatened eviction and I knew and had the proof that the check cleared. Unfortunately since you have a bank that you cannot go to- your statement will have serve as the proof. I would continue to redial your bank until I get the Customer Service MANAGER. Explain your situation and (nicely) explain that time is now of the essence and you need verification via fax. With these simple steps it may help your situation. So try to continue to phone and do not stop until you get an answer. GOOD LUCK

You should file a response today so that the case does not defualt. At the same time, request a continuance of the case so you have time to gather supporting evidence. This is called ‘discovery’. Your statements are an example of discovery evidence.
What you will need to do is look at the contract language inside the agreements between you and the internet bank and also your rental agreement with your landlord. While I am sure the bank language supports your case, the fact is they may have gone out of business.
I suspect your rental agreement states that ultimately you are responsible for the rent. If the landlord’s account does not reflect that the rent was received through a transfer, you are likely responsible. However, you also may use your statements and file your own lawsuit against the bank–if they issued a statement saying they paid when they did not, you have a case.
If they are going out of business and have committed fraud, you may be in a long line of people attempting to get resolve on debts. Contact your state attorney general’s office and issue a complaint.
Time is important on doing this since if the bank is going bankrupt, the issuances of debt resolutions will possibly be made (ultimately through a court order) by order of filing against them.
A word to the wise: never use an internet bank that does not have a local branch. Get a local account going where you can establish a relationship with them.

Sounds like the system is asking for the name of the pop server/address that you are sending the email too. all emails have a pop server/ address when not useing a phone number and the printer needs that address to be able to fax it too.
