What is the best program out there for doing diagrams for things like office space?

fax computer

By cbr600girl: What is the best program out there for doing diagrams for things like office space?
I have been tasked with coming up with a plan or diagram for office space planning. Our facility is growing at a rapid pace and we are running out of office space. Is there a program out there to help with measurements and seeing the best way to make things fit. I want to be able to show placement of desks, modular furniture, computers, printers, faxes, etc. I heard you can do similar tasks in Microsoft Visio. Any other program recommendations?
Thanks

AutoCAD would be your best choice, but you need someone trained in it to use it. You could always go to Wal-Mart and buy on of their planning software.

Microsoft Visio 2007 if you’re happy to pay, or use a 60 day trial – http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio/default.aspx

Visio is the best diagramming software available. It’s really easy to create diagrams and floorplans, etc, and very easy to move things around. And if you get to be a more advanced user, it’s fully customizable for more complex diagramming work too.

While you can use AutoCAD for diagrams, it’s more for detailed architecture and schematic drawings, so you may find it more difficult to use.

Q&A: If I free up more space in my head, can I become the boss?

fax free

Question by Bozz Mozz: If I free up more space in my head, can I become the boss?
can I oversee the office?

Executives can’t make coffee or photocopy. They just don’t know how. But is that because they need that space to make do their executive stuff? Like decisions, negotiations, and hire/fire? Does it stand to reason that if I free up the space in my head I currently use to operate fax machines and load a flash drive, I will one day become the boss of this joint? How long will that take?

Making more space on Vaio Laptop?

fax software

Question by иєєиαяя.: Making more space on Vaio Laptop?
Okay well, I want to make more space on my laptop so that I can download an MMORPG game, and I want to make as much space as possible. I’ve been wanting to remove some programs that I don’t particularly need, but I’m not sure which ones I can remove without something going wrong. Sooo, could someone tell me which of these programs are okay to remove?

2007 Microsoft Office system
Activation Assistant for the 2007 Microsoft Office suites
Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX
Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin
Apple Application Support
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
Bonjour
Browser Address Error Redirector
Favorit
HDAUDIO SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP
Internet Saving Optimizer
iPhone Configuration Utility
Java (TM) 6 Update 17
Media Access Startup
(Then theres a load of Microsoft Office programs)
Microsoft Silverlight
(Then theres lots of Microsoft SQL programs)
Microsoft Sync
Microsoft Visual
MobileMe Control Panel
OpenMG Secure Module
Realtek High Def. Audio Driver
Safari
Setting Utility Series
Sony Video Shared Library
Synaptics Pointing Device Driver
System Search Dispatcher
(Lots of Vaio files)
Weemi 1.0 build

Okay, like, I typed out all the ones in which I don’t know what they are @_@ If they are important please tell me before I go and delete them ^^ I just want to make sure I dont ruin my laptop or anything D:

First of all, download Ccleaner from this link:

http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/

Do a full scan with it, and remove whatever is found. This should get rid of a lot of space

Now, about the programs. If you have a windows operating system, you could get rid of the following:
-All the Apple software (don’t get rid of the mobile one, if you have an iphone)
-Bonjour (If you are not interested in learning french)

That’s about it, but make sure to uninstall them with this:

http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html

To uninstall using that, just install it, open it, then look for what you want to uninstall. Right-click it and uninstall it (choose safe mode (you will see a selection of modes))
At the end of the uninstalling, it will go back to this new uninstaller, allowing you to go “next”. Click on next, then “select all” and “delete” (you might have to “select all + delete” twice (select all and delete are on same window))

Hope this helps

None of these things uninstalled will free up a ton of space, they will free up some for sure but I wouldn’t expect more than 1GB of space to be freed up at the most. Anyway I would suggest removing:

Browser Address Error Redirector
Favorit
Internet Saving Optimizer
Safari – I’m guessing it was installed by accident with Apple Software update, all it is is an Apple web browser and much better alternatives exist, Chrome, Firefox for example.
System Search Dispatcher
Weemi

Although some of the things in your list seriously suggest to me you have spyware/malware/viruses on your machine. Anyway for now after uninstalling those programs you can also free up space by using the Disk Cleanup wizard, just go to the Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools and click on Disk Cleanup, it will scan for anything that is wasting space on your computer than can be deleted.

After these things I’m also suggesting you at least download and run Microsoft Security Essentials onto your machine, if there is malware/spyware/viruses on your computer this will help to find and remove them although and will help to protect you in the future.

Although one program usually can’t catch everything, each one has things they will miss and another will catch so I would also suggest installing Spybot – Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, both are free programs.
