I received a call from my credit card company today stating that I didnt pay my bill. I did pay my bill!? – Fax Online

Ask by foxymoron: I received a call from my credit card company today stating that I didnt pay my bill. I did pay my bill!?
I went online and found my bank statement saying the bill posted 9/13. I faxed this to them and they said its going to be 2 months before they can fix it. It the meantime they want me to pay late fees, on top of over my balance fees (which they said they will recredit, HA). I stated to them I am not paying anything until they straighten this out… What can I do to resolve this faster? and keep it off my credit?

TELL THEM TO PUT IT IN WRITING OR YOU WILL SUE THEM BACK, AND TURN THEM IN TO THE FTC, AND THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THEIR STATE

There is nothing you can do to keep them from turning you into the credit bureau as a “slow (or) no pay” account if you refuse to pay what they say you owe. Your best bet… and I know it sucks… is to pay what the charges and keep the best records you have ever kept so that you can continue to dispute the charges and “eventually” you will get your money back.

I would definitely destroy it; there are too many scams going around. Personally, I don’t believe chances like this are just handed out. Forget it and don’t lose any sleep over it.

I have been warned that emails like that are scams. The person, or company, ends up asking you to send money for some odd reason, like legal fees/good faith deposit/whatever. The question is, if you are getting all this money, why do you need to send any? They can take the fees, or whatever, out of he money.

Did you enter a lottery? If not you didn’t win anything, and you likely didn’t win anyways, so many people are easily fooled into sending their contact information and bank account numbers to guys who love to steal your information and sell it, or steal from your account.

Be careful these are scams!

I always offer to fly to where-ever and see someone in person to pay what-ever fees & collect my money in person (doesn’t this seem reasonable to take a week off from work & spend 00 on an airplane flight to collect million dollars?)

However, no-one has ever agreed to my offer of personally picking up the money? (spoken with sarcasm)

We need a Fax machine which can send back a reply stating the fax has been recieved.Any machines or softwares?

Ask by mrinaldoss: We need a Fax machine which can send back a reply stating the fax has been recieved.Any machines or softwares?
The conventional fax on senders side does give out transmission OK signal. But we need(for legal reasons) the fax machine sending back a reply saying message recieved(with possibly our stamp/signature).But we are unable to get a person doing this in view of the downsizing of personnels and volume of fax coming in.Any ides (like a particular brand of machine or software) which can do this??

Dream on!

Were there such a device on the market, it would require the receiver’s end machine to send an acknowledgment. The receiver’s machine can be set to disable such acknowledgments if the receiver so desires. If you are dealing with what you feel are less than honorable recipients of your transmissions, they will be the first to turn off any acknowledgment of receipt features as this is their less than honorable nature. No machine can make anyone honorable.

In fact I have lawyers as customers and some of these people are masters at dodging acknowledgment of receipt and insist that e mail receipt acknowledgment modes are deactivated and some only turn on their FAX after they have approved the transmission for receipt.

If some in the legal community do this, surely others are equally aware of the receipt acknowledgment disabling capability.

If you need confirmation of delivery, a FAX is not the way to do this. You must rely on certified mail.

Ironically, the legal people who disable their acknowledgment features are the first to complain about the cost of certified mail and wish others would be sure to enable receipt acknowledgment – but that is another issue.
