I just saw a special on Dateline ID about this very scam. Evidently, you will get stung for the shipping fees and never get paid.
Scam. Notice the misspellings and poor grammar throughout. It tells you to drop off donations at UPS, but it doesn’t mention how the shipping will be paid for. Also, the only way to contact these people is via Yahoo! Messenger. A legit company would have an 800 number or at least a local number so you could talk to an actual person.

How much would you guys think is an okay price for this car? – Fax Free
Posted by in Fax Free on January 9, 2012

Fax Service: How much would you guys think is an okay price for this car?
It is a 2008 Honda Accord, LX, but it has 31,600 miles on it. It has the burgundy. The dealer says it’s $ 16,500. Is this a good price… I really think it’s very expensive for 31,600 miles! My sister’s Honda Accord LX was brand new at 2009, no mileage and it was a total of $ 19,999. So should I ask for a good price? I didn’t ask for the car fax yet. It was preowned with one owner already. It’s a 2008 car so how much would you guys buy it for with those qualities…?
kk thank you. :S I don’t know anything about cars, that’s why i was worried. I’m 17, so I’m a new driver and I drive really wrecklessly but I really like that car, so I’m scared. I tried asking for $ 10,000 and he laughed and said “neverr.” So i asked more and He told me he would ask his manager if he could sell it for $ 15,000… But mommy says that’s too expensive. :’(. This is all too frustrating. And I want a Honda Accord, not a stupid dirty cheap chevy. It’s not working out so good.
Used Honda’s retain their value better than any other used car. A well equipped 3 year old Accord with only 31,600 miles (very low miles) is going to demand a high price.
You should ALWAYS negotiate a lower price. Do your homework, research the value of the car (ignore retail price, nobody pays full retail for a car), Make them a reasonable offer based on the research you’ve done. The worst that can happen is they would say NO. If they do then use the best negotiating tools you have, your feet. Walk out. Go to another dealer and try it again.
If you don’t’ want to pay ,500 for the car then look for a Chevy or a Mitsubishi. They’re dirt cheap compared to the used Honda.
That’s not high at all. Go buy it.
“I really think it’s very expensive for 31,600 miles!” How old are you? It should have MORE than that. 31K is low miles for a 2008.
Try to negotiate, but that’s a decent price to start with. It’s not like you’re looking at a Yugo here…it’s a Honda Accord for God Sakes.

can you please review my resume and tell me what you think?
Posted by in Fax Software on December 26, 2011

Question: can you please review my resume and tell me what you think?
and if there’s any changes I should make? I’m desperately looking for a job
This is the first time I make a resume and I know it’s not that good. I erased my name, my companies name, address etc but I have them on my original resume
Work Experience:
August 2010- Present
Office assistant.
Job Duties:
• Scan – Scan black and white and colored documents including well logs. Scan small, large and oversize files using different scanning machines.
• Quality Control- Examine documents and well logs that have been scanned and renamed.
• Prep and reassemble documents.
• Box up files for storage.
• Copy and print.
Software/System Skills:
• Proficient with computer literate such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Internet..
• Ability to type 50 WPM.
• Quality control Auditing.
• Neurascanner, KIP and IPRO scanner, well log Digitization, Various scanning, copying and printing machines.
Skills:
• Detail and results-oriented; enjoy learning new skills; strive to increase productivity and efficiency levels.
• Hardworking, reliable and flexible; willing to work long hours and additional shifts to complete a project.
• Exercise independent judgment appropriately; communicate problems through proper Company channels.
• Complete assignments under minimal supervision; work well independently and as a team player.
• Excellent ability to perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, faxing, answering phone etc.
Education:
Received High School Diploma.
Here are two tweaks that I see right off the bat. However, I’d keep tweaking.
Education
Name of High School, City it is located, Class year
List achievements, awards, special classes, anything you did special in high school
I’d change: Ability to type 50 WPM … I don’t like the phrase “ability to” it is not convincing and rather bland. Frankly, just because you have the ability to does not mean that it is something you can already do. Actually, you have the ability to type 80 WPM also!
Here’s a tip:
“Most resumes provide a list of duties that each applicant has been responsible for–without explaining the benefit of those skills to employers. For example, a secretary’s resume might state she can type 80 wpm and is extremely accurate. This statement lacks an explanation of how her typing speed and accuracy benefit an employer’s bottom line. The real benefit is that the employee can produce more work and ultimately save the employer money. A better statement for this person’s resume would be:
· Achieved top production volume by maintaining high degree of accuracy with typing speed at 80 wpm.”

FAQ: Reasons why working for my last employer sucked. Tell me what you think. Does anything sound familiar? :)?
Posted by in Fax Software on December 18, 2011

My Question: Reasons why working for my last employer sucked. Tell me what you think. Does anything sound familiar?
?
Reasons why working for my last employer sucked
1)Owner was a salesman with a high school diploma and a bad tattoo. I graduated near the top of my class in International Business. If this guy can start and run a company why am I working for him? I should be working for myself.
2)Owner demands the impossible and is out of touch with operations and employee motivational factors.
3)Shifts people around to do 2 jobs for the price of one.
4)Small company with nothing to offer except horse and carrot promises, lip service and “big talk”. Promotion = Fancy title/name change. Except no raise for you sucker.
5)Using MS Office and MS Windows software from 2003! Still on Windows XP!
6)Computers, Printers, Networks ALWAYS crashing causing huge delays affecting service and productivity
7)Makes easy things difficult via hierarchy and people procedures. Too much fat for a small company.
8)Spent tens of thousands of dollars on horrible software without even so much as consulting the employees who are forced to use this terrible software every day. Yet claims his company is ‘different than all others’.
9)Ultra strict credit terms. Constantly harassing customers for payment everyday even over $ 10.00 one day past due.
10)Demands all billing 5 days out as priority over service. This increases downward pressure on already burdened employees. Out of touch with day to day operational factors.
11)No raise in 4 years for his best employee of a key office. Without her that branch office would not exist. Yet she is taken for granted and given no raise while employees come and go.
12)Horse and carrot shareholder scheme to motivate employees which he calls “executives” (in title only) with an illusion. There will be no retirement pay from this shareholder scheme whatsoever and the “executives” are fools for believing otherwise.
13)Company has absolutely nothing to offer which distinguishes them from their competitors.
14)Owner went out of his way to make sound running your own business difficult, unachievable, high, and mighty. “Corporate this” and “Corporate that”. Let me tell you something. There is not one damn thing my ex employer did that I could not do myself. A business is nothing but it’s clients and:
a) A piece of paper .
b) rented office
c) Faxes printer’s scanners computers etc (you can get these off Craigslist).
e) And finally CUSTOMERS and outsourced support (lawyers, CPA, etc). He always make is sound like running your own business was some kind of all powerful complicated thing you would need 50 million dollars to even think about starting.
It has been my experience that if I apply for a job without investigating the company first; that I have to take what comes without complaint.
If I allow my attitude to change to a negative after accepting such a job then all the problems become mine.
If OTOH I keep the positive attitude I had when I applied then the problems belong to the owner and all I have to do is my job and collect my check.
If you are the hotshot graduate you claim to be then go out and get the job that you know you can do instead of working for Tom, Dick and Harry, etc.
Number 5 and 6 sound awfully familiar…. LOL…
You already know the answer… good for you to leave this trap behind and get out.
Walk up in there with an ak47 n light it up

Help! I wanna be a Mystery Shopper, but I think I am getting scammed!? – Fax Online

Ask by Rebecca S: Help! I wanna be a Mystery Shopper, but I think I am getting scammed!?
I recently signed up for an online mystery shopping firm and completed a couple assignments. I haven’t done anymore because it wasn’t exactly what I expected it was going to be until…..I got this letter in the mail from a firm in Canada who gave me a cashier’s check for money to complete some assignments….I think this is a scam, so I am just wondering if anyone else has received letters similiar to this one where you cash a cashier’s check and then make purchases and then fax forms back to the “main” office with an evaluation. Oh! Its the Getpaid2.com website that it comes from based out of Canada. Thanks for any information anyone can give me!!
Good Answer:
Answer by John Loves Jenn

the cashier’s check are counterfeit as you may know.. don’t wire them any $$!!

As a general rule – ANYTHING involving Western Union/money gram = Scam.
my Advice: Don’t deal with anyone from a foreign country or Accept checks from strangers and never use wire/bank transfer services.. you risk losing your $$ and your mind.
Remember, if it sounds too good
to be true, it probably is!

What do you think about these fast cash loans/payday loans..etc?? – Fax Online
Posted by in Fax Online on October 24, 2011

Ask by nynena959: What do you think about these fast cash loans/payday loans..etc??
I have been researching these fast cash loans/payday loans, but I am still not sure if I want to trust them. They make it sound so easy to just get cash overnight! I need to get a loan for at least $ 1,500-$ 2,000 and I get paid every 2 weeks! You fill out the online app., which asks you, When is your next payday? Do you have direct deposit and things of that nature. You put your phone number so that a lender can call you and let you know if you will get the loan and discusses other things with you. sometimes you have to fax info that they ask for and with some you don’t!! What I need to know, is “Are these fast cash loans/payday loans/quick cash…etc” on the up and up??? Or is it just a scam??? I don’t wantto be screwed over, if you know what I mean!! Thanx!!
Good Answer:
Answer by Anonymous
I can’t speak for all of them, but at least some of them are legitimate. Depending where you live, you could simply go into a payday loan place and get cash. They’re all over most big cities. Problem is that you’ll pay huge exorbitant, almost usury, interest rates and fees. If you can get the money any other way, I recommend you do it. Good luck.
Answer by heatt28
You can get the loan very fast and very easily but your going to have to pay back a lot more than you borrow and they want your bank info because they’ll take it right out of your account as soon as your paycheck is deposited. It can get you in a lot of trouble if you don’t have the money to pay it back soon! I wouldn’t recommend doing this. If you can’t come up with the money yourself in under a month your not going to have the money to pay them either and your bank account will be hurting! Plus if you don’t pay it back it will be very hard for you to get a checking account in the future!
Answer by fixitall
The quick cash or pay day loans are nothing but a legal way to rob you. The interest rate on these type of loans is very high and if you figure what the annual interest rate would be it will amaze you with what they can charge for a short term loan.
Answer by Gillian G
The way to look at payday loans is that if you desperately need money and you have absolutely no way of finding it anywhere else then a payday loan is a necessary evil. It’s quite easy to get the money (this website explains how) but you will have to pay – (maybe) in interest for just a couple of weeks use of the money.
If this price is worth it to you then go ahead. Payday loans do not affect your credit provided that you pay them back on time. And DO pay them back on time, otherwise the costs will spiral.
Good luck!
Answer by RaleighF
Lets face it, if you need to use a payday loan company, you need money fast, and dont have many other options. That means you are a risk, and that’s why they charge high interest rates. If you’re not that type, but just need quick cash, then fine, use a payday loan place, pay a few bucks for the convenience, and call it a day. They exist for a purpose. Fast, and easy cash. They take the risks, and they hold up their end of the bargain. If you do the same, you will be happy.

Good luck.

Ask by Janet: I asked this question about B/K before but I think I worded it wrong?
We want to file Chapter 13 and we do want to use a lawyer-the thing is we would like to use a lawyer that will communicate via email/phone/ fax as opposed to having to find time to go to a lawyers office-has anyone been able to find a lawyer that will work this way?
Good Answer:

Pretty much every lawyer is going to want to do the initial meetings face to face; payment of retainer, initial transfer of documents to be included, and changes as they occur.
It’ll be minimal; but still needed.

Do you think an American Revolutionary War II is coming?

House GOP leader says bullet fired into office after health care vote.
Washington (CNN) — Rep. Eric Cantor, the No. 2 Republican in the House of Representatives, said Thursday that a bullet had been fired through a window at his campaign office in Richmond, Virginia.
A Richmond police spokeswoman confirmed to CNN that a bullet was fired at the congressman’s office. “We are investigating the circumstance surrounding it,” spokeswoman Karla Peters said.
Cantor also said that he had received threatening messages but that he would not publicly release the messages out of concern that doing so would only incite further violence.
He also accused Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland — a member of the Democratic House leadership — of “fanning the flames” of violence by using threats that have been made against Democratic members “as political weapons.”
“Enough is enough,” Cantor said. “It has to stop.”
Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse hit back against Cantor’s claims.
“We disagree with the charge made by Rep. Cantor today that Democrats are using acts of violence for political gain,” he said. “Let’s be clear: Calling on Republican leaders who have contributed in part to this anger by wildly mischaracterizing the substance and motives of health reform to condemn these acts is entirely appropriate.”
More than 10 Democrats have reported trouble since the weekend health care vote, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, told reporters Wednesday.
Windows have been smashed at Democratic offices in at least three states, and federal agents are investigating whether a cut gas line at the home of a Virginia congressman’s brother was related to the lawmaker’s yes vote.
Democratic congressional leaders have demanded Republicans join them in condemning a spate of threats and vandalism that has followed Sunday’s vote on a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. health care system.
The FBI is now looking into the threats, and at least 10 House Democrats have been given extra security.
The threats are especially vicious for Michigan’s Bart Stupak, who switched his vote to seal the deal for the bill. He has released a threatening voice mail that he received.
“Stupak, you are a lowlife, baby-murdering scumbag, pile of steaming crap. You’re a cowardly punk, Stupak, that’s what you are. You and your family are scum,” an unidentified caller said. “That’s what you are, Stupak. You are a piece of crap.”
“Go to hell, you piece of [expletive deleted]” another called said.

In Virginia, Albemarle County fire marshals and the FBI are looking into the slashing of a propane gas line outside the home of Rep. Tom Perriello’s brother, the congressman’s office said.
A Perriello aide told CNN that the line to a propane tank on the brother’s gas grill had been severed after the brother’s home address was posted online by a Tea Party activist. Lee Catlin, a spokesman for the fire marshal’s office, said the incident “did not involve an immediate threat to occupants of the residence” but would disclose no details.
The county joined the investigation late Tuesday after a request from the FBI, Caitlin said. “Officials are taking the incident very seriously and conducting a vigorous investigation,” he said.
On Sunday, Democratic Rep. Russ Carnahan of Missouri had a coffin placed on his lawn, said his spokeswoman, Sarah Howard. She said Tea Party protesters at his office in St. Louis had a coffin with them and later brought it to his house. The coffin was later removed, she said.
House Democratic Majority Whip James Clyburn, who is African-American, said he has received a fax in his office with a picture of a noose drawn on it and had threatening telephone calls at his home.
iReport: ‘A very dangerous time for Obama,’ Dem leaders
“We’re giving aid and comfort to these people, and this stuff gets ratcheted up,” Clyburn told CNN. “We in this Congress have got to come together in a bipartisan way and tamp this foolishness down. It doesn’t make sense. That’s not what a democracy is all about.”
Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-New York, said a brick was thrown through a window at her Niagara Falls district office, and a message that referred to “snipers” was left at one of her campaign offices. In a written statement, she said GOP leaders have been “fanning the flames with coded rhetoric.”
Slaughter said federal agents and local authorities were investigating the threat and vandalism at her offices.
The top Republican in the House, Minority Leader John Boehner, told reporters that he has urged opponents to demonstrate legally.
"
“I’ve made statements that I understand people are angry, but violence and threats are inappropriate and irresponsible,” the Ohio congressman said. “If people are angry, they ought to register to vote and get involved in a campaign.”
But Boehner, who compared the legislation’s passage to “Armageddon,” said Democrats had not complained to him that Republicans haven’t been quick enough to condemn the threats and vandalism.
Democratic officials and liberal Web sites are also upset that Sarah Palin used an image of crosshairs in a Facebook post this week listing 20 vulnerable Democrats who voted for the legislation. She plans to target them this election year with money from her political action committee.
Palin’s team is fighting claims that she is encouraging threats of violence. One House member mentioned her Facebook posting during a Wednesday meeting on safety concerns, a Democratic source told CNN’s Dana Bash. Mention of the map brought audible groans to the room, the source said

We in the USA have a revolution every time we vote. Vote out the bums and make the will of the people known!!!!
Answer by bobby’s girl
There are many angry Americans, and many angry with the government. I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t cause some an uprising. I just hope we don’t end up with innocent lives lost or ruined.
Answer by Marki
I am concerned that the current issues will lead to civil war, it is simply getting too far out of hand. It seems that the disagreements in our government have little to do with what is right or wrong for our country and more to do with political power and the gaining of popularity for each party.
Personally I believe that the best action that can be taken is making our process a direct democracy, in which individuals vote on every issue without government interference. I think it would be best to keep representatives in the case of a very close vote to act as a tie breaker, but I think it would also be necessary to keep either party from expressing their views on the issues so that Americans can think for themselves and not simply follow their party. Of course that’s just an opinion that will never happen.
Answer by Leonard
You mean a Civil War, not a revolution.
No, I don’t think so.
Answer by mixmaster
First off let’s get one thing straight, Cantor who is a republican had bullet come through his office by a random gunfire that accidentally hit his office. He used it politically as a ploy to comment on the Democrats speaking out about the violence happening to their offices because it is making his party look bad. He won’t release any phone calls received because he has never received any like the democrats have…. let’s think about this…why would a crazy tea party person want to leave Cantor a message? If anything it would be some kind of positive message not a negative one.
Story on Cantor’s BS story, remember it was investigated by the POLICE:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20001283-503544.html
He is using his opportunity by trying to put down the seriousness of the violence being received to the Democrats. The republican hypocrisy just keep going and going!!
As far as the civil war….which is what you meant. The super wealthy always want the country to stay divided thus the puppet theater they portray to us everyday in the news and with silly issues like abortion and political fighting. If they a country is divided then they tend to make more money off of it. It is a big chess game and the wealthy are winning!
You really think Republicans care about some poor person who lives in the country and is some redneck? Well this is a lot of their base and they play to their stupidity and feed them lies over and over… They insight the hatred mix with a lot of racism in these Tea party movements, but when they do something violent or nasty, they distant themselves from them after having just praised them. Please make these people go away and realize we are in the year 2010, not the 1960′s. We need more education in our schools then people would not believe nonsense that is fed to them on places like Fox News.
Please leave your answer in the comments! Thanks.
