Fax Service: Looking for free internet fax sending program (not ‘free trial’ – really free)?
I’ve searched on Cnet and Freedownloads, but every program I find is either free trial (and then you have to pay) – or it looks good but doesn’t install or load properly (mobility pass compass for example).
Do you have one that you use and it’s really free and it works for you?
Thanks alot – I’m tired of having to go down to the copy shop to send a fax. Don’t want to buy a printer and fax machine. Don’t want to pay a monthly subscription just to send every once in a while.
I’d even be happy with a service that charged on a per-send basis – a buck or two, so I don’t have to run to the copy shop.

card failed validation. Is this because there are no funds on the card. If so, what is minimum i can put on card to pass the validation process?

You may need to have a fund on your card to avail of that 30-day trial faxing service. But there are reliable internet fax service providers that offers free trial services and free fax software to let you do your evaluation of their service.

why was blockbuster able to get my bank information when I did my order for movies? They admitted the mistake but would not fax the bank to let them know that they made the mistake. As far as I am concerend this blockbuster on-line is a ripoff.

if you subscribe to the blockbuster online free trial
you have to end it *before* the end of the free trial

Read the fine print. Blockbuster has always been a rip off. That is why I now go to Hollywood video for hassle free rentals

do you know that you bank can help you with that issue? allyou need to know is tell your bank that you dont recognise the transaction, and they’ll forward the matter to their transaction enquiries department( every bank has one, though not by the same name) it might take as soon as 7 business days, or as long as 3 months or so… but at least you get a chance to ask for a refund!!! your bank will contact the merchant and resolve this without involving you any further… all you have to do is report it, then wait….

did you use a credit card at any time at block buster? if so thats how they got your bank info or debit card will also. keep pushing it thats all you can do going to court will cost more than 60.00 you can also ask for 60 dollars store credit or gift card they may give you that quicker than 60 dollars cash

Hunns, my driver was involved in a little car accident a few months ago when he forgot to wear his contact lenses and his court case was this morning. Anyway, I went to court to support him and we’re still waiting to hear the verdict but I’m worried that he’s not being given a fair trial. After listening to all the witnesses, the prosecutor ended by telling the judge that in the end it is the fax that will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that my driver is guilty. Well, we were shocked! Does anyone know if it is actually legal for a witness to fax in their testimony? Does my driver’s lawyer even get a chance to cross examine this fax? We’re beside ourselves with worry.

It depends. If the cause of the accident was him not wearing his contact lenses when he should have been, it is just a matter of figuring out the damages.

I have never heard of that. but my brother said it cost you if you go through internet site. Buy your own fax, and plug into your computer. cost you nothing.

If you have a modem in your computer and access to a phone line then Windows has a fax program,
Fax is not installed by default during Windows Setup.
To install the Fax component
Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
In the Windows Components Wizard, select the Fax Services check box, and then follow the instructions on your screen.
Notes
To open Fax after installation, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Fax Console.
For more information on using Fax, click Help in Fax Console.

I don’t have a fax machine or phone line near me, so the online faxing service sounds good but I can’t buy it so I was wondering is there one free for 1 try or trial? myfax had a trial but you have to give them credit card info. which I don’t have because I’m a minor. Thank you so much!

Hey guys,
I sign up for the TransUnion credit monitoring service for its 30day trial period. I tried to cancel the service today by calling the really-hard-to-find number on their website 1800-493-2392
When I was put through to a CSR, she asked me for my SSN, then my first and last name. And then she tells me I cannot cancel over the phone, I have to fax a copy of my driver license with a reference number for the canceling order to them, then they will contact me through email to let me know it has been cancelled.
She says this is for security reasons. I just don’t understand what more security they will need besides my name and SSN. They could’ve asked for secret questions when I sign up. When I prowl the web for people with similiar problems, nobody ever mentioned anything about having to fax driver licenses. Most people are able to cancel throught the phone.
Can someone tell me if they are allowed to require me to fax to cancel and whether I should fax or not

The probably are allowed to require you to fax, in writing, a request for cancellation. That’s why many of these “free-trial” offers are such a drag, they’re very hard to cancel. If you don’t cancel, you’ll get billed for it, so I’d be persistent and get a receipt or acknowledgement of your request so they don’t bill you.

Another way to cancel is to cancel your card. Oddlly enough I just cancelled my account with them a couple of weeks ago and didnt have any problem at all (they did keep asking me why I wanted to cancel). No I wouldnt fax anything your information would be out there for anyone just cancel your card.

They want to make it as difficult as possible so you’ll end up paying for the service even if you don’t want it. Follow all their instructions and get it canceled before the 30 days are up. In the future, get your credit report for free with no strings attached at the only official site:

Send them a certified, return receip letter requesting cancellation. I don’t think I would be giving out my SS# over the phone, nor faxing additional ID to cancel credit monitoring. It’s all part of the make it as difficult as possilble.
With a certified letter, you have proof they received your canncellation request and won’t have to play all the games of cancelling it several times.

Hello,
In my opinion, do not fax a copy of your driver’s license and only give the last four digits of your Social Security number when speaking with them on the telephone. You are correct in asking them to ask you your secret question which will identify you. Protect yourself against Identity Theft.
