Answer by engineer01
It came to you out of the blue.

MR.JAMES HAROLD
Tel: # 44 703-184-9955 or 44-703-184-8530

It’s obvious they are scamming people; I just want to attract people attention to this kind of Frauds, Scams, Fake Lotteries, Spams and Hoaxes. Check out this link so you can recognize easily a scam http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/promoscam_Yahoo.php

Good Answer:

Answer by cogenerate
It’s actually quite funny….

MR.JAMES HAROLD
REMMITANCE DIRECTOR
YAHOO PROMOTIONS UK
Tel: # 44 703-184-9955 or 44-703-184-8530
FAX # 44-871-247-6662
E-mail: jamesharold106@live.com

1. Remittance is spelled wrong.
2. YAHOO is missing it’s exclamation point (YAHOO!)
3. He’s got a Microsoft Live Email address, not Yahoo!

He’s not trying very hard, is he? Or maybe he’s not very bright.

I think everyone should call that number… especially at 3am when you’re good and drunk. As many times as possible. In fact, call collect. I wonder if the address is real? Probably not.

I especially like where he joins Hotmail and Yahoo! together in the “Promotion”… as if that would ever happen.

Or where he talks about the BMW X5 Jeep… when exactly did Jeep and BMW merge?

The really funny thing is that with all of it’s absurdities… there’s even less intelligent people out there who will fall for it.

Please leave your answer in the comments! Thanks.

Ask by Dr.T: Is it true that phone calls, faxes, and emails to Senators are running “hundreds to one” against the stimulus?

Selected answer:

Answer by Perdurabo
What do you bet they do it anyway?

Answer by Killer Queen
The fact that he sees absolutely nothing wrong with this bill is scary. Rather, I think he does know its flaws but he made promises that must be kept. What is more illuminating is that he thinks no one else (like us) can see that. That we are in the dark in this matter. He used ignorance during his campaign and it worked well for him. But he doesn’t realize that one very good thing came from this election. More and more got involved in learning about politics and how this country is being run. That ignorance can’t be counted on any longer.

Answer by Gentle Giant
Only the senators know and they aren’t talking.

Answer by TEH TYME KITTEH =^..^=
Maybe more in the Ten Thousnads to one by now. But they are going to vote for it anyway. VOTE THEM OUT if they do.

Answer by whip
yes, that is if you can get through.i know i go through on specter.senate.gov

Answer by [[♥ ♥ ♥]]
probably just a scam!!

Answer by zynr
Yikes!!! What do YOU think???!! Seriously. Do you have any reason to believe you’ve suddenly won a large sum of money for some contest you didn’t even enter. IT’S A SCAM!! I wouldn’t have to even ask, but did it occur to you to use Google? DELETE IT!!

Answer by Morgan
SPAM!

Answer by Tamara H
This e-mail is most definitely a scam! We received a very similar one from a banker in London and two more from people supposedly from South Africa saying we would receive large sums of money for sending our information. I’ve also received the exact e-mail from UK Lottery and checked with the authorities on all of these. They confirm that they are all scams. DO NOT forward any of your personal iformation to these people.

Good Answer:

Answer by Taztug
Not really enough of the email to be sure. However, Nationwide Bank is a real organization. In reality unless you have an account with them or have been recently doing business with them for something the email is probably a phishing attempt. See his article: http://www.trendmicro.com/en/security/phishing/overview/phish050927a.htm

I would simply delete the email. If it is important they will contact you again.

By chunaidangyeu05: you can tell me is it true?
MR TUNDE WILLIAMS
ACCOUNT OFFICIAL OF INTER-CONTINENTAL BANK PLC
P.H:
234-1-723-6792

Hello Nguyen,

With due respect, trust and humility,
I write you this proposal believing that it will receive the most
desired attention from you even as we have not had any previous
correspondence, Although, I am constrained by insufficient information
about you, but I will express in full the main objectives of this
proposal.

My name is Mr.Tunde Williams I work in the credit and
accounts department of Inter-continental Bank of Nigeria Plc,Lagos,
Nigeria. I write you in respect of a foreign customer with our bank,
before his sudden death. His name is Mr.Alam A. Nguyen, He was among
those who died in a plane crash here in Nigeria in the year 2002 May
4th. Sir,since the demise of this our customer, Mr.Alam A. Nguyen, who
was an oil Merchant/contractor, I have kept a close watch of the
deposit records and accounts and since then no body has come to claim
the money in this a/c as next of kin to the late Engineer He had only
$ 9.5mllion in his a/c and the a/c is coded. It is only an insider that
could produce the code or password of the Deposit particulars. As it
stands now, there is nobody in that position to produce the needed
information other than my very self considering my position in the bank
as his account officer.Based on the reason that nobody has come forward
to claim the deposit as next of kin,I hereby ask for your cooperation
in using your name as the next of kin to the deceased to send these
funds out to a foreign offshore bank a/c for mutual sharing between
myself and you.

At this point I am the only one with the information
because I have removed the deposit file from the safe. By this doing,
what is required of you is to send an application laying claims of the
deposit as next of kin to the deceased officially to the director of
our bank., I am asking for your assistant to release the money to you
as his relation/next of kin for safekeeping and subsequent
disbursement. I know that a transaction of this magnitude will make any
one apprehensive but I am assuring you of the security of us all as
modalitieshave been perfected for a swift and smooth operation.

You
are being contacted because you share the same name with the deceased.
Since nobody showed up for his money and I don’t want it to go back
into Federal Government account as unclaimed bill when the next audit
is conducted. The banking law and guideline here stipulates that such
money if remain unclaimed, will be transferred into banking treasury as
unclaimed effect. The request of a foreigner to act as next of kin in
this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a
foreigner and a Nigerian cannot stand asnext of kin to a foreigner. You
are most qualified in this transaction as you share the same name with
the deceased. I am ready to negotiate the mode of sharing with you. I
will visit your country for the disbursement/investing of my share
according to the percentages we shall agree upon after the successful
transfer of the money to your account.

I will not fail to bring to
your notice that this transaction is 100% hitch-free and that there is
absolutely no risk in it, having concluded the modalities for a smooth
operation and my position in the bank guarantees its successful
execution. All I require is your honest co-operation, a guarantee of
your sincerity and capability to enable us conclude this deal. Note
however that the sensitive nature of this transaction demands that you
have to keep it absolutely confidential.

I will need your full name
and address, telephone and fax number for the processing of the transfer
in your name and favour. Finally i want you to understand that the
request for a foreigneras the next of kin is Occassioned by the fact
that the customer was a foreigner and for that reason alone a Nigerian
cannot represent as next of kin. When you contact me,then we shall
discuss on how the money will be split between us. Trusting to hear
from you,

I remain Respectfully yours

Answer by Beth
I get emails like this all the time. It’s a scam.

Answer by Long
I can deal with the fact that you may or may not be computer or technology savvy, but you should read the news. This has been all over it as a scam.

Answer by sublime_DMG
i know for a FACT its a scam.

never do any buisnness with africa online.(no offence but they always, ALWAYS try to scam americans(i would too))

Answer by lil_mommy_970205
My sister got an email like this once. She was to give this person her banking information etc. so they could “direct deposit” the money. However, she wrote them back and let them have it about it being illegal and all and that she was going to turn them in etc. Needless to say she never got another email from them again. And the person who had died and left all of this money behind had the same last name as her but there was no relation what so ever.

It’s a scam, I would just ignore them.

Answer by Stiles
common sense. A letter like this would be mailed or be done over the phone. And you dont know this person. Most people dont write letters over 100 words.

Answer by magnumgirl
There is no Microsoft or Yahoo lottery, these are scams to rip off your bank account. Just mark them spam and forget about it. Yahoo is aware of these scams, they have been around for a very long time. They just can’t all be caught. No company is going to just choose you and tell you in a email that you won something like that. Think about it.

Answer by queen of answers
There is no internet lottery
They are all scams

From Microsoft regarding lottery

Answer by Ol’grizzler
Sorry friend but there is no Microsoft, Yahoo or other e-mail lottery, it’s a scam do not answer do not give personal information. The following sites give more information

.Also If you go to the following site you will get some info on ID theft www.identity-theft.org.uk the iinternet is safe enough if you are careful but please answer nothing that you are doubtful about.Good Luck and be careful

Answer by Lyn G
Well, Prav, did you enter that lottery, you know buy a ticket????? No??? You can not win something you did not enter or play. Besides Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, Microsoft, MSN and Aol do not have lotteries, reward programs, promotions, or contests.
When an E-mail offer sounds too good to be true, then it is definitely not true.
It is a scam to get your personal information and/or your money, or both!
Do not respond to it.
Report it, forward it to the FTC at spam@uce.gov and to the abuse desk of the sender’s ISP.
For yahoo, report them here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya…
Choose Fraud as the reason for the violation you’re reporting on.
Also, if the E-mail appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.

Ask by Horace A: Does anyone know of a true online lender or payday loan who will really deposit funds within 24 hours?
I have tried to apply for a payday loan online to no avail. It seems that all of the payday loan companies accept your information and then send a request for additional applications over and over. No one approves or denies. I am tired of all the applications over and over. Has anyone had success with a lender or payday loan company with fast approval online and deposit within 24 hours, with no credit check or faxing etc.? I do have direct deposit. Please help?
