It’s scam. They compose a text and send it to people under different titles.Yahoo, gmail,…

I received this same email about a month ago. I didn’t follow up on any of it because this kind of crap filters through regardless of spam blockers.
Yahoo has been made aware and this is a totally bogus email.
Trash it as you would any other junk that comes through your mailbox.
I have also been receiving many emails from Nigeria. Do people truly fall for this crap? Do people really send complete strangers their personal information and send them thousands of dollars because they feel sorry for them?

This is the longest running scam on the internet today. Yahoo does not have lotteries. Yahoo does not give away money. You don’t win anything but the booby prize for opening spam, so now you will get more. Does this actually have your name on it, or is your name “Esteemed Winner?” Put this, and all the others to come, in spam and don’t open any more.

Buyiung a used car for under Blue bk price at a dealer?

fax price

Question: Buyiung a used car for under Blue bk price at a dealer?
So i found what I think is a good deal but am kinda skeptic since blue book pricing is at 10,999 for a 2000 Toyota Avalon with 120k miles and the dealer im getting it from or wanna get it is selling it for 7,999? does this make senne ? I got a car fax and it does come from Missisipi 2003 as a repo? can this be a car affected by Katrina? eventhough is listed as a repo on car fax? the car looks in great shape for its age. and for the proce its a steal any advice?please

Carfax would have detailed any damage and/or repairs made before the car was resold. I just bougt a car for 1500 under blue book value and its fine. Ge a diagnostic, 49 point inspection and go from there! GOOD LUCK!

If the dealer is honest, they must disclose any damage to the vehicle, including hurricane damage (ie, water). Carfax should know that unless someone didn’t enter the information initially.

The best way to tell if it’s had water in it, turn on the heater and let it run for a while. If it’s been flooded, you’ll be able to tell right away, just use your nose, detailers don’t usually pull out the dash board and clean all the duct work, especially on a car with over 100K on the odo.

Assuming it wasn’t damaged, a repo is usually taken for non-payment and banks/lenders/creditors even if only a small amount is still owed. It’s sent to an auction where a dealer can purchase it at a significant savings and thus can be resold for less than blue book while still allowing the dealer to make a profit.

Don’t be afraid to ask the dealer how long the car has been on their lot. It costs them money every day that car sits, so they want to turn them over fast. If it’s been there a while, the dealer may cut their losses and reduce the price, just to get it out the door.

Hope that helps, good luck.

You don’t state which model the Avalon is, XL or XLS or which options, so it would be next to impossible for anyone to give you an accurate price.

KBB is almost always way off in thier pricing. This is why the dealers use them for pricing used cars. www.Edmunds.com has a somewhat more realistic appraisal tool to help you, check there first.

There are several reasons why the price is low.

1.) Miles. Over 100K miles and a certian number years old, most banks will not loan money on a used vehicle, so the price of the vehicle will automatically drop, since a buyer would have to pay cash, or be financed through a higher interest rate type of financing.

2.) The repo in the title. Most likely, a buyer that had a car repossessed was not taking very good care of that vehicle and performing regular maintenance, so it would be good to be wary of this vehicle.

My guess is that a like this that listed for ,999, the dealer owns for between ,000 and ,000, so he’s got at least K to work with, minimum.

Well, Blue Book is usually completely wrong. That would have something to do with it.

Their figured are based ultimately on data from dealers, who have a financial interest in having the “book value” of the cars they sell be as high as they can get it. They have absolutely no reason to tell the truth to KBB. That way they can advertise their cars at “BELOW KELLY BLUE BOOK!” and people will see that and jump all over it.

Except for some cult vehicles (Jeeps, sports cars, old Toyota trucks), KBB is almost invariably high.

Throw into the mix their geographic variations, which are also bullshit. They are clearly applying some generic formula to account for regional variations in prices, but it doesn’t account for extremes like Alaska (where small Japanese cars carry an absurd premium, and KBB is usually low), or for the seemingly inexplicable regional variations in cars like the Miata (where a car worth 800 bucks in one state might be worth 3000 in another).

That said, KBB isn’t usually off by THAT much.

Assuming it didn’t have some other state in all Carfax entries between 03 and 05, yes, it could be a Katrina car. Make sure that whatever other states it’s been to since are not states commonly used for “title washing.”

Also, there could be other damage or mechanical wear and tear that is bringing the price down, or demand could just be soft either for that car, or for the used car market in general in your area. That would also bring the price down.

Don’t buy the car. Repos are almost always beaten on because the people know they’re going to lose it. Katrina wouldn’t affected it unless it was totalled which wouls show on the Carfax.

Question by Ali: Is it legal under any circumstance to have your pay withheld?
I am a contract therapist. My documents were not faxed from my doctors office in a timely manner. I was also told my license was was verified by the Ohio OTPTAT Board and they needed a copy of my pocket card ID. I imformed them the Ohio section no longer issues those cards and the only identifier was online. I then was told I needed a copy of my original liscense. That is in the process. My boss is putting me under excessive stress now that I’m pregnant!? – Fax Free

fax free

Question by barbiegirl: My boss is putting me under excessive stress now that I’m pregnant!?
I work on a Navy Base at a Rec Center. We have ships in and out all the time. Currently there are 3 carriers in, while just 1 carrier holds thousands of sailors. The center is extremely busy since we have many computers for the sailors to use for free, fax, scanners, XBOX & ps3, pool tables, brand new movies we show on a huge flat screen tv, cheap snacks and comfy couches for them to rest on. We even have a mini golf course for them to use. While we are supposed to have more staff right now since we are extremely busy with all the ships in port, we are short staffed, and I’m the one who always gets stuck alone. She works me all alone 9-5 with absolutely no one in the center, but myself! So I have to deal with every problem that arises, and it’s always so busy I can hardly sit down. They take an unpaid 30 min. break from me, and I can’t even leave the building because I’m the only one there. I have asked her numerous times to please not work me alone, because I am 6 months pregnant and it is very stressful to me. I have to use the restroom a lot, and I can’t even leave the counter. I hardly even have a chance to eat anything. We have other staff who are older men, who get to work the night shift and work with our other coworkers, while I am always left working alone. When I went to someone higher than her who is the boss, she got very upset and told one of my coworkers, “I don’t care if she’s pregnant, everyone gets pregnant, and she needs to deal with it!!” She is very rude to me and I honestly feel she works me alone to put me under stress. I am so tempted to just quit because this has been going on for a while, and even though I told the higher boss, she just became more furious, and still does it! I want to quit, but I need the money to save for my baby girl.

Answer:

Answer by Expecting #1 Due 2.25.11
I’m very sorry this is happening to you…..

but you do have the right to quit.

Answer by Emily
It sounds like she is pressuring you to quit by putting you under so much stress so she does not have to pay your maternity leave when you have the baby and also have to find someone to work your shift. If I were you I would find someone higher than the woman you spoke to about it and if nothing is done about it then I would file a claim with the department of labor in your area. If you had the job before you were pregnant and they find reasonable conclusive evidence that she is acting this way because you are pregnant she can be terminated and you will be able to get some help during your shift or can be offered another position. Most companies including military based jobs would rather avoid the lawsuit and make the employee happy and fix the wrong that has been done. I hope for your sake and the babies that this situation gets rectified quickly. Good luck

Answer by mommy of 2.5
i would look for another job… if you need to save for the new baby dont quit until you can find something else… if you can squeeze by with out somethings do it and quit…. all you need is clothes and shelter for baby… and a few other necessitys you can get those from second hand stores and craigslist has a lot.. you could also put up an ad on there asking if anyone has stuff they dont need any more explain that you dont have a lot of money and sometimes you can get it for fairly cheap if not free even…. no job is worth risking your and your babies health…. .. stress isnt good for either of you…. good luck and congrats on your baby girl :)

USPS – Priority Mail Service help. $4.80 for any box under 70lbs?

By Brett H: USPS – Priority Mail Service help. .80 for any box under 70lbs?
I am looking up prices for shipping. USPS has a box (Priority Mail Box O-BOX7). In the rates for shipping (4 ounces) with that box there is this: Priority Mail® Service(?) with 2-3 Day Service Standard priced at $ 4.80.

I click the (?) and it says

———————————————–

Saturday and residential deliveries are provided at no extra cost.

————————————————–

Does this mean the box, which is 12″X12″X8″, can be shipped for $ 4.80 anywhere in the US as long as it is 70lbs or less? Or am I completely lost?

Featured answer:

Answer by baby_girl_0521
I think that’s what it means, I know that they have the flat rate shipping boxes also, where its a flat rate to anywhere in the US. To make sure I’d either call UPS or your local post office and ask.

Answer by sojournsoul
To figure how much shipping is the post office 1) determines how far the box has to travel, and 2) weighs the box — although they do have flat-rate shipping, too. If your package is heavy, then get a flat-rate shipping box. It’s one price no matter how heavy it is.

Answer by mucky muck
Go to the post office. It’s a .80 envelope. It’s free. They should have some on the wall if yours is open 24/7 or go ask for one. I’ve shipped w/ one before. It’s very small. It will not hold 70 lbs. You can get a flat rate Priority box for .80 and that is the price for up to 20 lbs. I’ve only used those two before. Generally if it’s something small I use a bubble mailer. The free Priority boxes are good for cd’s, jackets, shirts, etc. Anything that takes up space. You can fit like 13 shirts in the .80 box, a great way to go! 70 lbs will cost like at least! Try the eBay forums if you use that. Someone there will be able to tell you since people there do shipping all the time.

You should use the USPS websites shipping calculator:

http://postcalc.usps.gov/

There might be a money difference in price between what you put in (weight) and what the USPS scale reads. Be prepared for a little bit of price difference.

Answer by cmriz83
Only if it is a priority mail flat rate shipping box is it a set price. I think you are talking about the priority box but not flat shipping. (you are gonna make me go to the site). Ok I looked it up and you are talking about regular priority not flat rate. Like I said depending on the weight. If you estimate the weight of the item you can click on calculate shipping on the website and it will tell you around what it will cost. Its says up to 70lbs because they won’t take it if it is over that. I mail things all the time.

Answer by beached42
http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-mail-prices.htm

This is the Post Office’s website. For .95 you can ship any package 70 pounds or less. The size is 12 1/4 X 12 1/4 X 6.

There are 2 smaller “flat rate boxes” as well.

These boxes are available for no charge at the Post Office.

FAQ: I was in a car accident and I was always under the impression that the attorney gets one third, the doctor? – Fax Service

Ask by Alfonso: I was in a car accident and I was always under the impression that the attorney gets one third, the doctor?
gets one third, and you get one third. If that’s the case can the attorney add on for photos, postage, faxing, copies, phone calls, messenger service, etc?

Best answer:

Answer by Travis
attorney 1/3
you 2/3
doctor has no part of it.

Answer by towanda
You make a deal with the attorney and the his expenses usually come off the top and then it is divided. You can have any type of arrangement, depending on what you agreed to. What you are suing for is money to pay your doctor and continuing medical treatment, pain, suffering, whatever. You need to read and understand exactly what you signed.

Answer by rickinnocal
The attorney gets whatever his retainer agreement with you ‘says’ that he gets. It is a private contract between two private parties. You are free to negotiate whatever deal you can get.

A ‘typical’ retainer agreement will call for the attorney to take a percentage of the net proceeds. Net means that costs – court fees, postage copying, messengers etc – come out of the settlement or judgment amount before the percentages are calculated.

A doctor, by the way, just gets his bills paid (Usually also “off the top”). In almost all cases it is illegal for the doctors bill to be dependent on you getting a settlement.

Richard

Answer by Danny
The court settlement is between you and the defendant’s insurance company most likely. The payment will most likely be made to you directly. Your agreement that you signed with the Attorney will stipulate what her/his fees for handling your case are. Generally it will be a contingency fee agreement. If your attorney has it written into the fee agreement that you signed that he is able to bill you for expenses such as a PI, postage, copies, etc, then you signed a poor agreement. Regardless of that, if you signed an agreement allowing contingency plus fees then he can keep padding his bill to you with these other expenses.

Your doctor bills are not cancelled just because you got a settlement. You are responsible for paying your doctor/hospital bills from your share of the proceeds after paying your attorney bill. As an example, if you get a ,000 settlement and your attorney gets 1/3rd then you have ,000 left over. If your medical bills were ,000 then you are responsible for paying the ,000 medical bill using the remaining ,000 of settlement and ,000 of your own money.

Don’t allow your attorney to settle for less than an amount that would cover both attorney fees and medical fees otherwise you will leave the court process with a debt after your settlement.

Bottom line – read your engagement letter with your attorney to see what to expect with regard to her/his legal fees upon settlement. Be prepared financially for a shortfall of your settlement with regard to your medical bills since 1/3rd of your settlement is already committed to your attorney. The other insurance company is not required to pay your legal bills as well as your medical bills. An attorney is not always your best option at the end of the day.

Answer by laughter_every_day
Your impression was incorrect. The attorney gets whatever percentage you negotiate with him before hiring him. I have seen it at low as 10 percent and as high as 40 percent. A doctor does not get a cut but is entitled to have his bill paid. Doctors who treat accident victims will sometimes put a lien on the judgment to ensure that they get paid. The usual contract with a lawyer calls for a percentage plus expenses. That is not carved in stone. You can can negotiate whatever deal you want.

First and Foremost – have you looked at Yahoo’s email? It’s very good – and sound like it will do what you want. Plus, the Beta (not yet fully released – but soon – I HOPE!) is looking like it will blow all other web based emails (Hotmail, Gmail) out of the water!!! I can’t wait! :)

Second – try Thunderbird. (http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird)

It’s supposed to be an excellent email program – and offers a TON of add-ons that will help you make it even more powerful. Just know that it is a program in flux. It’s what is called “Open-Source” meaning the code for it is open, and everyone helps build it and work with it. This is a good thing, but also means a program like that will operate like a beta program at times because it needs to be “tweaked” yet.

I also have a friend who likes “The Bat.” I know nothing about it – other than he LOVES it and swears by it. Do a Yahoo search on “The Bat Email” and you’ll find it. :)

I hope this helps!

Good Answer:

Answer by david W
get car insurance
buy the car
get the title from the seller. make him sign the back
bring the title, insurance and tons of id to the dmv

Answer by Philip
you need two things. first, the registry papers of the car. second, the deed of sale signed by the seller and you. then, you have it registered.

Answer by Liz
Ok first things first, make sure they arent ripping you off.

go to www.kbb.com and click used cars and then click whatever car it is and then click continue and then click the link, “suggested retail value.” now put in all the features and blah blah..

ok next, make a bill of sale. make a paper saying who is selling the car and to whom and how many miles, and all damages, the VIN number, the car model, everything.

sign it and have the person sign it too. keep a copy.

Once you have the car, go to the insurance, insure your car and then go to the dealer, renuew your registration, get a liscnest plate.. and change your title.

oh don’t forget to pay the property taxes before you go to the dmv.

i just sold my old car and i bought a new jetta ! :)

i love it

Answer by darwinsti
First of all, after checking the car depending on where you get it, dealers will issue a “bill of sale” but an individual will most likely not offer this and you will probably be hard pressed to get them to sign one. Your dmv office will tell you about the state laws for buying from a “private” owner. You can either go locally or online to get insurance. (Try GMAC Auto Insurance) If you don’t owe anything on the car and it isn’t really new you probably don’t need full coverage and should request “only” Liability coverage. Your state has minimum limits which will give you the lowest rates, ask the agent for that and you will need them to give you an FR-2 (proof of insurance) the DMV wants to see this before they will issue a tag for your car.
After getting the insurance, go to the local DMV office and register the vehicle. There will be a fee for the title, registration, notary, user tax and tags. They will then issue the registration and tag to you. Put the registration in the glove box along with your proof of insurance and papers. Also, make sure you pay your insurance by the due date to avoid a “lapse” in coverage.
Hope this helps
