My Question: I bought a Dell Photo All in One 966 Printer. I want to utilize the fax feature.?
I want to use the DSL modem as my “device”. My understanding is that I have to buy a DSL Filter. How do I install if I don’t have a phone line?
You must have a phone line to use to use the fax feature. As far as the DSL filters go, you get them when you order your DSL service, if you don’t have a phone line then you can’t have DSL service.
What do you think? Answer below please!

Photoshop seems to be the default for all my picture files. This only started happening after I bought the programme…
It’s [Photoshop] great and all, but I really would like all my pictures to open up normally. I mean, when I click preview on a pic, it opens on Photoshop. I want it to preview with WINDOWS PICTURE AND FAX VIEWER?
Easy fix. Find a photo on your computer and right click on it adn it should have a tab that says “open with” and it may or may not expand out, but if it does a couple of programs may come up and if Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is there just click on it and it will be set, but if it isnt then in that same tab click on “choose default program” and then all you have to do is find the program you want to open it up with.

Most media applications and photo editors will try to “hijack” all your pics, etc by putting their icons on everything. I prefer windows picture and fax viewer also.
You need to do two things:
1. Open up photo shop and find the preferences or file associations section.
It will have a list of supported files with check boxes. You need to uncheck every box. don’t worry PS will still open and edit anything.
what that does is remove the file association (and the icons) from all your pics.
2. Now you should associate your photos with Windows Photo and Fax Viewer.
Right click a photo and highlite “open with” and find and select Windows Photo and Fax Viewer from the list of options.
If it is not shown select “choose program”.
That opens up the “Open With” dialog box.
If it’s not on that list select “browse” then find andselect it .
Be sure and put a check mark in the box that says” Always use the selected program for this kind of file.”
You will need to do the same thing for each of your photo file types. ( jpg tif png gif whatever)
If that does not fix the problem:
Open up your “My Pictures” folder
Click on the “Tools” tab
Click on “Folder Options”
Click on “File Types”
There you will find a list of file extensions.
Just scroll down to JPG and click on it.
It will indicate what app it opens with. If it does not show Windows Picture and Fax Viewer click on the “Change” tab and browse to the correct application.
You will need to do this for JPEG, TIF, TIFF, PNG, GIF (any of your file types).
I know that’s a lot of trouble and that is why the “hijacking” of file types is very poor practice.

Yes, your local staples should be able to do this for you.
Try Fedex Kinko’s, they can help you there, some of the store open ’till very late, some might close at 9 PM, but open at 6 AM.

Car fax is clean, getting it from an auto dealer. want to use it to do a little credit cleaning by paying a cheap note every month. The price is less than $ 7000 I figure Ill be paying 2 something a month. Plus I need transportation and am still not to fond of little cars. Im 230 lbs and 6″1′
A chevy with 158k = no promises. Good luck with that if you really plan on purchasing it.
For 7,000$ you have a lot of other options. Cars prices are shooting downwards fast.
It has very high mileage for its age, but the price doesn’t sound horrible since you are getting it from a dealer, they are always a bit expensive since they have to make a profit.
Go to http://www.kbb.com/kbb/UsedCars/default.aspx and put in the info about the vehicle. The website will give you an estimated value of what its worth. I would do it but i don’t know the condition or any of the features it has. The site is simple to use.
First of all there is no way that going deeper in debt will “clean” your credit. The extra debt you add to your credit report will completely erase any ontime payment history you try to build.
The only way to “clean” your debt is to reduce it. Get out of debt, don’t add to your debt. Pay stuff off, reduce your overall debt and pay your bills on time.
I have no problem with you buying a used Suburban for 00 but don’t do it with the expectation that this is somehow going to improve your credit score because it isn’t.

Question: I want to install a fax machine…?
So, our friend gave us a fax machine and she didnt realize that there was a disk missing. The disk was to install something on the coputer. Does a fax machine need to be installed on the computer? My other question is, it’s a CANON MultiPASS C555. Does it only need to be installed to the phone line in order for it to work, or what? It did come with the instruction manual and stuff, but It looks really confusing! Please Help!

You do not need to…….unless it has pc-fax.
If you have that function, then install the driver or find the driver on google by typing “driver for (your machine code noted above)

It will need a phone line connection. If you want it to carry out any of the pc functions you will need to download drivers from the Canon site.
Install a fax printer (it usually comes with windows), and you print to it like a normal printer. It then sends the data to your modem and asks you for the fax number.
Your modem needs to be connected to a phone line.

I know the oil change is expensive, but it is only once a year and as a BMW model that has been around since the 1960′s there are no recalls and it is perfected. I love the car. Thoughts motor heads? I hear they can go forever like a classic Volts Wagon or a Volvo. Is that fact or fiction? FYI, it is not the ‘super charged’ model.

68,000 miles on a car like that is nothing.
If the car looks like it’s been well taken care of I think I’d go ahead and take the plunge.
What’s this about a once-per-year oil change? Never heard of that…I’ll have to check into that.
The down side is any repairs at a dealer are expensive on any car. An oil change should not run you over .00. The car does not need to be serviced at the dealer. 68,000 miles is not excessive for any car. If everything else checks out and this is the car you want, buy it!
I THINK THAT IT IS A GREAT CAR AND YOU SHOULD GO FOR IT BUT 2 THINGS.
1. THE CAR FAX REPORT COMPANY IS CURRENTLY UNDER GOING A VERY NASTY CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR NOT DISCLOSING ALL INFORMATION. I WOULD USE AUTO-CHECK FOR A COMPLETE AND CORRECT REPORT.
2. IF YOU CAN AFFORD THE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE FOR THIS CAR, DO IT.

I have a computer at home with internet connection as well as I have a telephone line at my disposal with incoming and outgoing fax facility. I have my MBA in marketing. Due to my family circumstances I can’t work away from home at least for next 4 yrs. Please guide me, also let me know where to get training if required. I am quite computer savvy.

For your higher qualification I wish and pray for you to get a good job to do from home.
I am a stay at home mom with 2 small kids and live with jobless husband. I have registered with the survey sites and getting regular survey work, for which I have not paid any fee for registration. If interested you can also take up that one until you are suitably fitted in a nice job.
