Q&A: I cancell my land line at home, got wireless service now, the tech directlly hooked up the printer/fax?
straight to his hardware that he installed, my question is how can I fax I did fine a wire connecting to the router, Thank You, No the printer is not wireless, but it is hooked to the router.
Your wording is a bit difficult to understand, but I will tell you this. If you have INTERNET fax ability, then your fax should still work with wireless; however, if you have a LANDLINE fax (That is, an analog fax used on the Plain Old Telephone System) your fax will not work without it. In order to function, an analog fax must have a dialtone and an analogue phone line. To put it another way, if you used to have your fax hooked up to a telephone wire, and now you don’t, it ain’t gonna work.

Is it hard to install a wireless printer?

My Question: Is it hard to install a wireless printer?
I want to get a new wireless printer that will also have a fax. Bases on your experience is it hard to install. Thanks
no, just follow the directions. i would also make sure that you have a dedicated/static ip address for your printer so that all the other machines can consistently locate it.
Be wary of the directions. Not all instructions for doing “something” are created equal. They sometimes assume you know certain things or that your configuration has not changed from the basic setup. HP is really bad for that.
I have the Epson Artisan 800 and I love it. Installation meant attaching it to the router, running the software, then disconnecting it from the router to work wirelessly. The printer has a 2 year advance replacement warranty which means for two years epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should I need it. Cartridges cost me less than 50 cents. I pay under 2.50 and get back for the empty ones. Here’s where to go to find the latest printer deals online

Ask by haya D: Any idea (wireless Internet)?
I have a dial up connection, but the phone fuse is so far and I can not get the wire connected to the fax modem.
Please provide with some websites I know a few things about the computer’s stuff.

wireless is not an option for dial up. Radio shack does make some wireless extenders for phone jacks and you might check with them to see if it will work on the net.
Answer by Nick
Why not go broadband? It’s only .99/mo. You won’t regret it.
Answer by Gaurav Gupta
Sorry haya,
There is no way that you can access dial-up internet using wireless techonolgy.
you have to bring a long telephone cable to connet to dial up….. or just contact router vendos. and check if their router is capable of connecting using dial up and can distribute connection…… but a long cable will cost much cheaper.
Good Day.
Answer by jfloresbcs
Dial-Up CAN be wireless… this will only work if you have 2 computers… you have one computer with the modem hooked straight to the phone line. On that same computer, you enable ICS (internet connection sharing). You then will need 2 wireless cards, one for each computer, and must create an Ad-Hoc (p2p) network. This will create a “hot spot” with dial-up
Answer by David P
You didn’t say if you have DSL or true dial up Internet. I you have DSL high speed broadband you can visit the three sites listed under sources and get tips on what you need and how to setup the network.
Good luck

Q&A: What is a good wireless printer?
Posted by in Fax Internet on September 2, 2011
Question by Anthony T: What is a good wireless printer?
I just ordered a black Macbook because I’m starting college this fall, and I’d like to get a wireless printer to go with it. I will mostly be printing reports and articles off the internet, but I may also want to print photos too. I also want one that can scan/copy but I don’t need a fax.
Any suggestions?

You will probably get one with fax functionality, but it will not make a real difference in price, so why not?

There are wireless USB cards available to make any printer wireless.
As someone who was in the computer hardware business for years (though I rarely sold printers since I couldn’t compete with the crazy rebates) I have always recommended Epson. The print quality is excellent, even on plain paper. I have photos I printed on a 640 about ten years ago hanging in my office which still look good, though not as good as the ones from the CX8400 on glossy paper. The warranty is excellent. For a year, Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. I had one customer who needed this. He called one afternoon and had the replacement two days later. Another client bought a Canon. It needed two repairs within a few months. Each time it was taken to the repair center, then picked up a few days later. This client runs a specialty printing business and this really hurt. They have since bought an Epson CX5000 and have had no down time since.
All name brand ink is expensive, but you can get cheap new replacement cartridges for Epson (not refills which I never recommend) for under at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp I have been using these for years.
The CX8400 scanner/copier/printer was on sale at circuitcity.com for with free shipping. It uses 3 colors plus black.
The NX400 which uses the same cartridges is on sale at Staples for .
The RX595 scanner/copier/printer also prints on DVDs. It uses 5 colors plus black and has even higher photo quality. It’s on sale for after instant rebate.

ok for the internet you will need a high speed connection of either dsl or broadband. some providers offer to hookup your wireless for you. you can get the modem and sometimes the wirelsee router through the provider. your wireless card is already built into your laptop.
now to help you save money. a lot of companies now offer bundles where you can get TV, internet, cell, and landline phone all through one company and save a bunch of money.

Why does my Wireless internet cut out every time i use the phone? – Fax Internet

By Julia: Why does my Wireless internet cut out every time i use the phone?
ok. So we’ve had wireless internet for a while and have had no problems with it in the past. We just got a fax machine and now every time we make/receive a call, the internet cuts out. I was wondering if there was anything that I could do, or if it was even linked to the new arrival of the fax machine. Any help would be appreciated!!

Answer by Giancarlo
wireless interference on Gigahertz 2.4. Change the frequency on your wireless router.
If it’s a land line, and no wireless phone, then you probably don’t have a DSL filter installed. you need that.
Answer by Seth Despero
Basically wireless networks and cordless phones operate on the same frequency band (2.4GHz), with the exception of some recent high-end models (5GHz and 2.8GHz respectively). This can lead to interference, especially if two devices are operating on the same channel.
If you can, set the wireless router and the phone to different channels – you should use either 1, 6, or 11 as they are the only non-overlapping channels in the 2.4GHz band.
Some cordless phones have something called ‘spread spectrum’ technology – basically they broadcast across multiple channels simultaneously. My experience with these phones is that they will absolutely murder a wireless network any time they are in use, and there’s little that can be done about it except to get rid of the phone.
Answer by Colanth
If it’s just from adding the fax, and you have DSL, the fax machine may not have a filter on it (check to see if you plugged the fax in directly, or you plugged the cord into a filter, and then into the phone line.)
Adding a fax machine wouldn’t change anything in the 2.4GHz radio range, which is where the wireless part works (and where the channels are). You change channels in your wireless router – connect to it and look for the page with the channel listed. It should be a drop-down.

By Luciana: HP 6500 Wireless: Do you have to scan first the document to fax so you can get in the fax report the image?
Just got a HP Officejet 6500 Wireless multifunctional, and on sending faxes, when i get the fax sent confirmation that is has been sent, although i have the option on to include an image of the first page of the sent doc, it doesn’t show on the report it prints! So do I have to scan it first to receive that, and how does it work? The manual I got says practically nothing Thank you

Visit HP’s forum community or contact their toll-free customer service:
Answer by The Stig
Scanning it won’t cause it to show up, it will just copy the pages you scanned. It should show up, so I’m guessing it’s a faulty printer not doing what it’s supposed to. Perhaps make a phone call to HP, it could be a problem that is easily fixed by a software setting etc.

Yahoo mail has a fax you can use with it.
